You may have noticed it too, but there are more and more awards that reward our Quebec restaurants. In fact, it seems that every month, a new Top 10 is published by one organization or another and that we find some really highly rated local restaurants! And since the Michelin guide has just arrived in Canada, will Michelin stars soon appear in La Belle Province?
For the moment, Cuisine Tonique and Tanière3 have seen their work and their efforts rewarded in two different ways, with two totally different but equally prestigious awards.
First, it was the World Food Travel association that awarded Cuisine Tonique, the restaurant at Spa Eastman, located in the Eastern Townships, the title of Best Wellness and Health Table in Culinary Travel, a prize that celebrates and rewards excellence and innovation in culinary tourism.
For more than 45 years now, Spa Eastman has made it a point to demonstrate the importance of food for both physical and psychological health by basing itself on scientific data to integrate a benevolent gastronomic offer for the body.
Chef Jean-Marc Enderlin's team therefore succeeds in offering a healthy option combined with an extraordinary culinary experience: "Our cuisine is not a diet, a diet, it is much richer and deeper than any eating. It is an art of cooking, an art of living, which unites gastronomy and health, flavors and nutrients, energy and satiety. »
Also, the restaurant in the Old Port of Quebec, Tanière3, received Five Diamond certification from the CAA, one of the most prestigious awards in North America! This is not nothing, considering that the establishment is only three years old, two of which have been hard to spend in the midst of the pandemic and restrictions.
What fills the co-owners of the establishment even more pride is the use of 100% Quebec products. No imported food is incorporated into Lair3 recipes.
The restaurant can accommodate 65 people and nearly 30 people make up the team.
Finally, the international gastronomic reference has just arrived in Canada and it is the Michelin guide. For its first Canadian edition, a total of 74 restaurants in the city of Toronto are featured, but only 12 are decorated with one star and only one has received two stars.
The question remains open for the moment: when will Quebec restaurants be in this famous guide?
