It is in a period of crisis that humans usually show off their good sides. We are seeing it now when entrepreneurs have decided to put their shoulder to the wheel by helping several sectors in bad shape because of the health measures put in place for governments. Today we want to highlight three actions taken by them.
First, a new coalition was born to come to the aid of the Banques Aliments du Quebec (BAQ). This major mobilization, which will prepare 800,000 meals for BAQs, which will then distribute them to hundreds of organizations in the province, was launched by Tablée des Chefs and its partners and is called Solidarity Kitchens. A hundred chefs will reopen their kitchens and, with their team, will prepare dishes for BAQs who have lost volunteer resources in recent weeks, limiting their production and direct assistance to those who need it.
Also, the Stella Artois brewery launched its “Rally for restaurants” project with great fanfare while it set up a transactional website on which it is possible to obtain gift cards from various restaurants and bars in the country. , including some from Quebec, who are hard hit by the COVID-19 crisis. Consumers can obtain a gift card that they can use later, or on a take-out order, and Stella Artois adds $ 10 to each purchase that they give directly and immediately to the establishment. This initiative has been repeated by Stella Artois in ten countries.
Finally, Pizza Pizza has developed a 100% safe box to protect customers who place an order at one of the chain's restaurants, for delivery or takeout. This box is protected by a safety tab system that the customer must break to open it, giving the customer complete assurance that the pizza has never entered a story with anyone, from the oven to the reception to its door. Everything will be available in all chain restaurants by the end of April. In this way, the restaurant wants to reassure consumers in this growing period of concern about the risks of contamination.
