To support entrepreneurs in the Drummondville restaurant and bar sector, the Société de développement économique de Drummondville (SDED) - Commerce & services sector, supported by the City of Drummondville and Desjardins (From heart to purchase, La Ruche) , is launching a major local purchase and crowdfunding campaign with the name Ça va bien manger. It will run for 30 days and will begin on Thursday, July 30, 2020.
Also proposed in collaboration with the Drummond Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCID) and the Jeune Chambre de commerce de Drummond (JCCD), this initiative will not only give a significant boost to restaurants and bars in Drummond, but also to donate money to two organizations well established in the region and serving the population, namely the Drummond Food Counter and La Tablée populaire.
For the revival
At SDED, this campaign is one of the elements proposed in its economic recovery plan.
"This initiative is one of the first of our recovery plan," says Martin Dupont, CEO of the organization. It is important that restaurateurs and bar owners take ownership of this campaign, created exclusively for them. Over the next few weeks and months, all SDED teams will continue their work which, essentially, consists of improving our global recovery plan, which notably includes the industrial sector, tourism and, of course, commercial and on duty. "
Renowned spokesperson
SDED is proud to have enlisted the services of a renowned spokesperson, none other than Mr. Louis Morissette, comedian, actor, director and businessman born in Drummondville and well known throughout Quebec.
"It's time to show solidarity, it's time to be all together, it's time to revive the local economy and we will do it thanks to the program It's going to eat well", indicates our famous spokesperson.
The City of Drummondville is committed
Thanks to a special grant of $ 75,000 granted by the City of Drummondville to SDED, the first 15,000 vouchers sold for $ 20 will be increased by $ 5. At the end of the day, in the days following the end of the campaign, consumers will therefore receive a voucher of $ 25 which can be used at the restaurant or bar of their choice! It will therefore be possible to have fun while encouraging our traders.
"This local buying campaign is an integral part of our vast recovery plan," notes Yves Grondin, mayor of Drummondville and president of the SDED. Citizens expressed their views on their stimulus priorities in a survey and it emerged that buying locally is one of the most important concepts for them. In this period of pandemic, it is necessary to support our restaurateurs and bar owners who have to deal with situations which, unfortunately, in certain cases, can jeopardize the vitality of their business. The City is happy to be able to provide this support and thus help generate enthusiasm for local purchasing. It goes without saying that more supportive actions will be taken in the coming weeks. "
Desjardins is also involved in the campaign
“Thanks to our From Heart to Purchase program, Desjardins is supporting the initiative by matching the amount raised by consumers, up to a maximum of $ 25,000, in order to support the Drummond Food Counter and La Popular table, in this context of unprecedented local solidarity that is activated. We invite the entire population of the region to contribute generously in order to make a difference with restaurateurs and local organizations, "says Johanne Lachapelle, Vice-President of the Board of Directors of Caisse Desjardins de Drummondville.
Ultimately, the sale of these 15,000 vouchers will generate sales of up to $ 375,000 in restaurants and bars in Drummondville.
Various packages are offered during this campaign, including three of a corporate nature, available at the same location as the others (see the indications below).
With this campaign, support for restaurateurs and bars is paying off. This is the perfect opportunity to show solidarity with our business people while taking advantage of more than interesting offers. One thing is certain, rest assured that "you are going to eat well!" "
