The culinary teams of Fairmont Le Reine Elizabeth and Fairmont Le Château Frontenac, two Ivanhoé Cambridge properties, are happy to lend a hand to Les Cuisines Solidaires of La Tablée des Chefs since several weeks already. In order to take concrete action to help people who are in need in these trying circumstances, the culinary director of Château Frontenac, Frédéric Cyr, and his team, have so far cooked 200,000 servings which have been offered to Quebec Food Banks.
All restaurateurs involved in Les Cuisines Solidaires are currently mobilizing to produce nearly 2 million meals to help the Food Banks of Quebec, while the milestone of 1.6 million has just been crossed. In solidarity with their community, the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac team has not hesitated to help, in the context of this current period of uncertainty, individuals and communities affected directly or indirectly by the virus.
Together with its owner Ivanhoé Cambridge, Château Frontenac's contribution, in this outpouring of generosity, consists in providing its kitchens, its expertise and its skilled workforce to prepare meals that comfort people who are currently experiencing difficulties. The Château Frontenac culinary team, made up of 30 employees, is really determined to help in this difficult period, which has so far provided 10 tonnes of processed food, such as pâtés, chickens with herbs, frittatas, muffins, apple crisps and turkey sandwiches.
Fairmont Le Château Frontenac remains vigilant to maintain a safe working environment for all its employees and those who will consume these meals, in particular by following the official directives of health and government authorities to limit the spread of the virus. In collaboration with its Ecolab partners, world leaders in health and safety, the hotel has reinforced its already rigorous hygiene and cleaning protocols, with improved preventive measures, disinfection procedures and products including effectiveness has been proven to minimize the spread of viruses and contagions, including COVID-19.
