6 restaurants where to eat traditionally Quebec!

6 restaurants where to eat traditionally Quebec!

With the opening on the world we know today, it is quite easy to eat Thai, Indian, Moroccan or Portuguese. But what about purely Quebec food? Should we keep it strictly for the holidays? Absolutely not! We offer 6 restaurants where you can eat comfort food all year long!

1. The Antiquarian Buffet

This restaurant is an institution of the city of Quebec. His cuisine has all that is most authentic. In a warm decor, you can taste cipaille, meat pie, stew, baked beans, seasonal pies, strawberry jam and homemade caramel! The restaurant also has a snack bar where you can find all the classics.

2. Former Canadians

Open since 1966, the restaurant is internationally renowned for the quality of its food. In addition to finding a beautiful variety of dishes featuring our game, we can feast on meatball stew, meat pie, salted bacon and baked beans. For dessert, maple is of course in the spotlight with maple syrup tart, maple sugar and cream sandwich or maple caramel roll.

3. The log

Eat Quebec and stay current: that's what we find at La Bûche restaurant. On the menu, a host of traditional dishes with a little twist that makes them up to date. Among the impressive menu is the unmistakable pea soup, served here with bacon, fried peas and maple ice cream carrots. Meat pie, stew of legs, croquettes of meat pie also claim to be present. For sweet teeth, opt for sugar cream, maple syrup pie or Jos Louis La Buche. And for the pleasure of the inveterate cabin, we eat the snow on the year!

4. There!

Are you from Saguenay / Lac St-Jean? We taste all this beautiful region at the restaurant Là là! from Quebec. Real tourtière lake, blueberry pie, unemployed pudding, carrot cake, what to ask for better?

5. Batinse

It is on the eclectic rue St-Jean in Quebec City that we find this restaurant proudly serving cuisine from this place. Revised Quebec classics are proudly presented here: the "Batinse" of pâté chinois, tourtière with Grandma Claire, the apple croustade of Île d'Orléans cheese-bacon and the unemployed pudding at IPA. We discover our culinary heritage in another light.

6. The Relais des Pins

Nothing better than going to a sugar shack to enjoy the pleasures of Quebec dishes. Located on Île d'Orléans, the Relais des Pins is also a restaurant open all year. As an appetizer, you can indulge in pea soup, crunch ears, bowl of baked beans or the tip of meat pie and homemade fruit ketchup. Among the classics of the main dish, we look for smoked meat or stew meatballs. We crown it all with a sugar pie, an unemployed pudding or a pancake with maple syrup.

These restaurants are also a good idea if you welcome foreign friends, this is a great way to introduce them to our traditions!
