Planète Poutine: A Poutine From Trois-Rivières Could End Up in the United States

The Planète Poutine et Cie, from Trois-Rivières, rocks since a TV apparition of one of the two co-founders at the popular show Dans l’œil du dragon. The charm of the co-founder Yves Junior Boissonneault convinced three Dragons to invest in its expansion project in the United States.

Dragons Gaétan Frigon, Daniele Henkel and Alexandre Taillefer will invest $ 80,000 in total for 28% of the subsidiary Planète Poutine Maître franchiseur. This is the company that will be responsible to develop mainly the U.S. market, but also the rest of Ontario and Quebec.

According to the information provided during the TV broadcast, poutine is still unknown in the US, but the trend is changing. Some poutine restaurants have opened in recent years, including one in New York, where sales exceed one million annually.

In addition to the first restaurant Planète Poutine in Trois-Rivières, Junior Boissonneault and his partner Alexandre Auger recently opened franchises in Montreal and Drummondville.

At the opening of the first restaurant, customers were quickly seduced by the dozen original poutine concocted by the owners.

The excitement does not lose scope and following the TV show, we expect that this is only the beginning of a great adventure.
