At this moment, the whole planet or almost has eyes on the street kitchen. Trucks filled with victuals invade the big cities with the aim of offering friendly and friendly dishes accessible easily. This summer, Québec finally decided to follow suit with its 7-truck pilot project. The foodie in me was unable to miss out on this opportunity. Immediately went out, immediately tasted. It was towards the friendly Mobile Zebra of Côtes-à-Côtes Resto Grill that I decided to go first. The location alone had already conquered me: at the Parc Jacques-Cartier beach. It should be said that the Mobile Zebra will move all summer, so you will have the chance to test the experience in different places.

The Côtes-à-Côtes Resto Grill already has a good reputation for its ribs. The challenge: transporting flavors and textures into street cooking. For my part, it is bet won. Not only is the truck visually appealing, but its menu is enticing: mac'n cheese at Migneron, confit duck pestle, tempura rib fingers, rib tao, house smoked meat burger. I love the creativity of the menu and the way we played with the ribs. They are really reinvented in all the sauces, which I find formidable. In order not to miss anything, I embark on the Côtes-à-Côtes formula which includes the Mac'n cheese, the pestle and the fingers of ribs. And as long as you're there ... let's try the burger of smoked meat home. The order is taken with a smile and good humor, then it is on a picnic table with a view of the St. Lawrence that I attack the feast.

We start with the macaroni very creamy and consistent. It lacks some seasoning, but it balances well with other dishes that have more pronounced aromas and spices. The duck pestle loosens tenderly while the rib-toed fingers change. We like not to get too dirty. The highlight of the show for me: the smoked meat burger. I am surprised! I love the mixture of the salty, the lightness of the bread and the freshness of the kale salad.

Then, as if the meal had not yet filled me, they crowned the whole with a fried brownie. I like the treat, even if the frying does not bring so interesting a dimension of taste or texture. But in terms of originality, we score points.

Sympathetic, festive, colorful, food trucks fit well into the landscape of the Capital. We love them!
