The Signature: gourmet lunch

Admit that going to a restaurant for lunch is a tasty weekend treat! One Saturday morning, my boyfriend and I decided to treat ourselves to this little luxury. When I go to a restaurant for breakfast, I like to be surprised and to elevate the experience one might have had at home.

I didn't think I was wrong by going to the La Signature restaurant which specializes in gourmet breakfasts. We were taking a chance by arriving without a reservation and already the place seemed to be sold out. However, we manage to find us a small place at the bottom. From my bench, located near the kitchen, I have an overview of the small dining room.

Eclectic decor
The eclectic decor immediately jumps out at me. We went out of our way to make the place look chic without being stuffy. Many textures coexist on the walls: wooden planks, upholstery, concrete effect, tiles, all styles have been mixed. The whole, however, makes for a happy marriage that is fun to watch.

Festive atmosphere
Around us, couples, families, friends. The whole assembly seems happy and celebratory. Laughter erupts here and there and we even hear a "pop" from a bottle of champagne that makes the room jump.

Gourmet menu
The brand was not lying, the breakfasts are delicious and varied: brunch plates, healthy dishes, Benedictine dishes, casseroles, bagels, pancakes, brioches, omelets, etc. It will be difficult to decide. I finally opt for a sweet / savory plate with the bun on Sunday. So, my dish is garnished on one side with a golden half-brioche with cranberries, turned egg, cheddar and bacon, then on the other, half a brioche topped with fruit and maple syrup. The perfect balance!

The two halves turn out to be delicious and just sweet and salty enough to keep you going. The sidelines are less in my favor, however; the fruits lack a little freshness and the potatoes in the duck fat would have deserved a little more cooking.

For his part, my sweetheart leans for the Spanish brunch plate consisting of 2 eggs, pulled ham, bacon, sausages and salted caramel churros. A wise choice that he greatly appreciates!

We fell in love with the ham and the churros!

We leave very satisfied, without being too full, ready to go for a long walk in the forest.

Note: 7.5 / 10
