We'll, this place IS legendary. Smoked meat sandwich is hard to beat but kind of on pricey side. It's diner like sitting area. Go to the take out side for shorter wait.

We went here based on ChatGPT and word of mouth internet recommendations as the “best” in Montreal. So not true! The flavour had no smoke and it was tough, boiled, thick tasting meat; nothing interesting.Absolutely would not recommend. Go to Franklin’s instead.

Fantastic in every way. Although we just had a sandwich and fries, it was melt in your mouth beautiful, I cannot recommend Schwartz's highly enough. About a 30 minute wait to get it, it's almost always busy.

Even better than Katz in NYC! Simple, delicious, no-frills food. A must-visit spot when in Montreal. Great sandwich and sides. When in Montreal, definitely try Schwartz’s Deli. Get the large platter — it comes with bread on the side so you can make your own sandwiches. Plenty of food for 2. The poutine and coleslaw were on point. If you like Katz’s Delicatessen, you’ll love this place. Ask for fatty meat and order the large plate instead of getting 2 sandwiches.

Busy place but food comes out fast so line moves quickly. Worth the wait. If you need gluten free, they will serve the meat without bread, they also have a separate fryer so fries are safe for celiacs.

The meat was good but it simply didn't meet my expectations given the hype. I was expecting some monster sandwich and I left hungry. And it was not cheap either. Maybe it was the ambience. The line was long to get in and the place was packed and we had to sit at a very cramped bar. Service was incredible though the young woman serving us was incredible. Was it delicious, yes. Was the service good, yes. Was it worth my money, probably not. Would I go back, not likely. I would rather sit and enjoy what I eat as opposed to feeling like I am caught in a rat race. But in the end I am glad I tired it

Amazing and unique deli experience, true to form. The brisket sandwich was amazing and true to hype. I was so amazed by the first one I had to get a second. Place can get a bit of crammed though.

We had heard excellent stories about Schwartz's Deli from a few friends, and let me tell you, the restaurant exceeded our expectations. When we first walked in, we received an immediate warm greeting from the host who invited us to pick a spot. Our server came over right away and was incredibly friendly and helpful. My brother had a little cut on his finger, and our server instantly noticed and took the initiative to get him a bandaid. This is just a small example of the kindness we received from our server. She was joyful and overall very pleasant. The food came out so quickly and was delicious. Absolutely fantastic experience at Schwartz's Deli in Montreal! Thank you!

Hello, I would like to express my deep dissatisfaction regarding the customer service that my family and I have received several times at your establishment. There is a tall man behind the counter who behaves in an arrogant and disrespectful way toward us. His attitude makes us very uncomfortable and gives the impression of discriminatory treatment. On several occasions, when I simply ask for water, he chooses to serve everyone else before serving me, even when I was the first person to ask. In addition, when I try to speak with him, he barely responds to me, and his cold attitude really makes it seem like he has a problem with Black people or does not like us. I find this behavior unacceptable and very disappointing. Customer service should be based on respect and equality for all customers. I sincerely hope this situation will be taken seriously so that it does not happen again.
