We like the food. The guy who served our table was excellent. He was warm and welcoming. We took out a couple of stars for service because of one waiter who was acting really rude when taking counts of people outside the restaurant. If the guy does not know how to treat people with courtesy, he needs training for customer service. This is your job. Learn to do it well!

Don’t order sandwichs, it’s very bad . I had to return it twice. In both cases it was extremely salty. When you order a sandwich they will give the worst meat part. I found going to the restaurant is a little bit better ( because you are there!) . I was very disappointed.

I think it remains the best Montreal smoked meat spot in the city. It’s just good. Look. The staff is a little “prickly”. With each other! lol. I get the impression that they are always busy and going hard and there can be weird vibes between them. But just embrace it. It’s part of the experience. It’s cramped. Abrupt. But damn good. And a real experience of days gone by.

Good food and generous portions. The place has that old-school classic restaurant vibe, so don’t expect anything fancy or modern. If you’re looking for a simple spot with tasty comfort food and a traditional atmosphere, it’s definitely worth trying.

😡There is an old server here who is a racist person. Everything is good here except for this person. Seeing that I am a man of color he was so rude with me. When i was confused with the menu and asked him the wrong items he could have corrected me instead he told me to read the menu again and he will come again and i tell him the right items. Meanwhile i saw him being nice with some females from the other table and helped them with the menu. Dear manager please tell this person to behave properly. The smoked meat sandwich is out of the world but i came here for the experience too of eating in a place of such heritage. But it was all ruined by this one person. I came as a tourist in Montreal and my whole day was ruined because of this.

This is the classic deli experience. The meat, the bread the pickled, everything. Good vfm for great smoked meat. I would avoid visiting during peak dinner or lunch time, especially on the weekends, the line can be extremely long

It’s a legend and not for no reason!!! The food is excellent service is fast eventhough it was very busy. The waitress was SO friendly and helpfull!!! We had the liver as a starter and of course the smoked meat as a Main. Great experience

Ordered smoked meat sandwich and poutine. Both are delicious👍waiting line is long but waiting time is fine, just about 15 minutes. Dining in is even faster than taking out.

The steak sandwich was delicious, worth the hype. Wait time for a table was not bad, maybe 10-20 minutes depending on your preference and party size. Their staff is also polite and friendly. This was Sat evening.

Went with a group of friends last weekend and the smoked meat sandwich at Schwartz's was everything the hype promised - thick, perfectly seasoned, and piled high on rye bread. The line out front felt part of the experience, and once we got inside, the no-frills deli atmosphere just added to the charm. Our server was quick and no-nonsense in the best possible way, keeping things moving without making us feel rushed. Honestly one of those meals where everyone at the table goes quiet for a minute because the food is just that good.

This place is one of my favorite and must visit when I come to Montreal. Today I took my family here and my kids loved the food. It is very authentic and the food always on point Today we were served by Giovanni and he was amazing. He was very helpful and honest person , he is super busy and im sure stressed but great to his customers and very honest in hos dealing. This is not my first and definitely not my last time so will keep coming back Must try if you are in the Montreal area

The meat was too salty and fatty for me. The queue at the counter was very long, but if you order online 15 minutes in advance, you can skip the queue and go directly to the cashier for pickup.

Honestly, Schwartz’s Deli doesn’t feel the same as before. The quality and taste were much better in the past, and this time the food felt disappointing compared to what I remembered. Hope they bring back the old quality.

The smoked meat sandwich was very good, ordering pickles on the side made it even better. The poutine was good but not the best in town, and the smoked meat plate was very large. We arrived before 8 and there was no line, but by 8 a queue had started forming.
