The smoked meat was not juicy or moist. It was dry. The pickle was soggy and flavourless. Would not recommend. The first door has seating in the back you don't need to wait in line to eat. It was $52 for 2 sandwiches a pickle and fries.

Decent food, the meat was really good but I find the meat sandwiches a bit too salty and oily. Super huge line as well

Great food there. There was a big line at the main entrance, but if you want just a sandwich or poutine, you can enter a separate room that usually has no line (but is also less cute if you want to take puctures).

Well it’s somehow sth you need to do due to their history and reputation. But I find the taste quite ordinary, but the dinning experience is probably worth a try, since it’s kind of last century feeling

Worst Montreal experience so far rude and bad mood employees Dirty dishes The meat was too raw i was about to throw up Overpriced 17 $ for just meat in a toast I dont care that they are exist for 100 years the place was soo dirty and bad smelling And to many tables for that space with no privacy all the tables was shared

We had a great experience here. No wait to get in and we ordered a smoked meat sandwich with a poutine to share, more than enough. Everything was delicious, especially the smoked meat. The atmosphere was nice, and the service was even better. Bianca was very attentive and kind, which really made the visit stand out. Highly recommended in Montreal!

Smoked meat sandwich from takeout side was great. Bread was surprisingly soft and the meat was so tender. Huge serving size for the price. Get a pickle on the side.

Although a Montreal Classic featuring the best smoked meat in Canada, there is almost always a line up to get in. However if you like smoked meat, there is nothing that compares!

We just had a disappointing experience at Schwartz's Deli. We ordered on Uber Eats and followed up directly with the restaurant to make sure they received the order properly and to ask for condiments since we are staying at an Airbnb. A portion of our meal was missing (Uber refunded us) - and the requested condiments were also missing. This $60 meal did not live up to the expectations. We are visiting Montreal and wanted to experience 'The Best' smoked meat sandwich...but were disappointed. Next time we will try somewhere else.

We went to this restaurant during the holidays. The food was really delicious, but the line was very long, and when we got inside, the tables were quite crowded and close together. Still, the food was absolutely amazing.

This place is a must stop anytime you visit Montreal. This was our second visit and it was perfect as the first. Will there be a line to get in? Probably. Does it move fast? Of course. Is it worth the wait? Hell yeah! This is a lot of food, but it is the best smoked meat you will ever eat in your life. The pickles are a must, and the fries are just like chip-truck fries. Our waitress was awesome, our food was delivered quickly. All in all a great experience

We joined the queue at around 1pm midweek as a duo and it took around 15 minutes to be squeezed in on a table - sat next to a lovely family from Toronto on a school break holiday where the kids were really excited to order!! It is a no nonsense sandwich shop where the recommended smoked meat sandwich is the firm favourite and everyone is nodding and licking their lips as they take a bite. I would recommend adding mustard to every bite to enhance the flavour but may not be to everyone’s taste. A pickle and a cherry cola accompanied the sandwich and we had ourselves a nice lunch to keep us going. Sadly I only got to visit once but if I return to Montreal it is on my list.

If you’re in Montreal, this place is an absolute must. The smoked beef is honestly the best I’ve ever had, rich, tender, and packed with flavor. It’s totally worth waiting in line, even if it takes a while. Despite the constant crowds, the service is impressively fast and efficient. Just be prepared: the place is always extremely busy and there’s barely any room to even walk around. Still, the food makes it completely worth it.

Great sandwich top friendly service and cosy. Ironically did nt wait got straight in. Guy who served me was great got my sandwich quickly. Tastes better than katz but not as much volume .and is less expensive by a considerable margin to the katz version.........i ll take quality over quantity anyday. A must visit to montreal.

Smoked meat sandwich has lots of brisket which is soft and has a good mix of lean and fatty bits. Sandwich is served warm too. Tastes good but not worth the long wait.

One of the most famous restaurants here. Worth paying a visit. But for a second time, hmm. The steak is over smoked and the sandwich is bit dry.
