We had SUCH a good meal here! So many amazing flavors. My husband had the octopus signature dish and I had the Ceviche. My sour cocktail was delicious. Great vibe. 100% recommend.

Jorge and Lyn have created the most authentic Mexican cuisine experience possible outside of Mexico, right in the heart of Baie st.Paul. Everything on the menu is extraordinary, hot sauces are incredible, and Jorge working the bar? A whole new level of fantastic drinks. Tonight my parents and I shared a couple large plates of tacos, jalapeño poppers and guacamole. Previous outings the octopus and their take on poutine has been tried. Everything is made in house and the ingredients are so fresh you can taste it. I recommend sitting at the bar and conversing with Jorge and Lyn. While we were there tonight a patron from Belgium was heard telling them it’s the best Mexican food he’s ever had. I can’t speak highly enough of Nixtamal and its wonderful owners. It’s an absolute pleasure and privilege to have a meal there. Highly recommend making the trip from wherever you may be to try. Until next time, I’ll have a craving. Cheers guys. Thanks for an awesome dinner.

5 stars is the limit of Google Maps not the restaurant. The richness of the flavours, the mastery of spicy and sour, just so delicious. My wife found and suggested this place on our way back to town, and I was looking for something else, something steaky and potaty, to brick layering my way out of hunger built up during trail walking. Have to admit that she was right, again.

Delicious, authentic with real artisanal flare, never felt rushed, would eat here again in a heartbeat. You would have to drive to New York city to find comparable Mexican food, and even then this might be better, wish we had more time here to go again.

Fantastic experience. We had the guacamole and the ceviche appetizers and the grilled octopus and chicken poblano mole main courses. Delicious and so enjoyable every bit. Lynn and Jorge are delightful host and chef owner team. So glad Philip of the Hygge Boutique Motel recommended this place.

I didn't expect the best food on my Quebec trip to be Mexican, but it was. The staff and service was excellent, the portions were well sized, and the food was absolutely excellent, highly recommend to anyone in the area - the birria is to die for.
