Had an amazing experience at Modavie! From the moment we walked in, the vibe was incredible—super welcoming and lively. The live jazz music really set the mood and made the whole night feel special. Huge shoutout to Caroline, who took care of me and my friends. She was honestly the highlight of our experience—super friendly, chill, and gave us amazing recommendations that we all loved. You can tell she really knows the menu and wants you to have a great time. The food, the energy, and the atmosphere were all on point. Between the live music and the great service, this is definitely a spot I’d come back to anytime I’m in Montreal. Highly recommend!

We went here for a early dinner as we booked for AURA experience in Notre-Dame Basilica. It's quite pity we didn't get a chance to enjoy the jazz music. We tried the Happening Gourmand Menu - 2-course menu featuring items for $49, like the snail, tuna tartare, steak and fries and cod risotto. Other than that, we also ordered onion soup and rack of lamp from the menu separately. I would say the food is like average level, nothing impressed me. The food was served promptly, I kinda doubted if they were freshly cooked or not. I ordered medium for the steak and lamp. I think they were served as medium well.

Great vibe in the upstairs room. Food was good, but the music playing live in the background was what made this a 5. Staff was not overly nice but we still had a great time.

Absolutely loved Modavie! The atmosphere and live music were amazing, but what really made the night special was the staff. Everyone was so kind, welcoming, and attentive. They made us feel so comfortable from the moment we arrived. Great service, great food, and such a warm vibe. Can’t wait to come back! 💕

We tried the steak, foie gras, and beef tartare during our visit. The foie gras was outstanding — rich, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. The beef tartare and steak, on the other hand, were just alright. Nothing particularly bad about them, but nothing memorable either.

So much to love. Sat at the bar and had the kindest bartender (Friday night at 8pm, whoever you are). Checked in on me frequently the right amount. Drinks solid. Had the duck confit and foie gras. Absolutely amazing. Live music made the environment spectacular. Good job to the owner, management, and team working here

Great spot with a festive atmosphere and live jazz. Service was friendly and attentive. Rad, our waiter, was excellent. Prices are reasonable and the wine list is diverse. The only downside was that the band, although very talented, was too loud, making it hard to have a conversation at the table.

We came to try the gourmand prix fixe menu and were disappointed at every turn. My dirty martini was very sweet (how?) and poorly made, the tuna tatare was decent and the highlight of the meal, and the steak frites were nearly inedible - fries were cold and steak was flavourless. The blues band was good but the vibe overall felt more like a chain restaurant than a cozy French bistro. Will not return
