Very cozy French restaurant. Love the live music. Makes the experience even more intimate. The food is amazing. Nice selection of French cuisine. Even snails are on the menu. Staff are very friendly. Definitely a great place for date night. Highly recommend.

Loved it, my food was delectable. Had a great time with my girls over there. Service was awesome too, so patient caring. I took my time ordering and service was still extremely speedy! Will be back!

We’ve been going to modavie over 10years whenever we visit Montreal, our go to for classic French food! It never fails even up to the past 2 days we went back to back for lunch. The fixe price menu is fantastic. Lentil soup, salad with simple n tasty dressing, the cod, duck confit is well cooked and handsomely presented. We wanted the lamb chops the next day and that was so good too! We had those food many times before but always tasted like the first time! Lorenzo always greets us with his warm friendly n witty charm. He remembers us as regular guests and never took us for granted. William is attentive, cheerful and remember what we ordered before! See you soon! Make sure you have the window table for 2 again for us!

What a lovely fabulous lunch this was!! The perfect French experience. Lorenzo was the perfect host!! He over saw the smooth running of this beautiful restaurant in the old world way!! I had an amazing green salad with the best dressing I’ve ever had. Delicious cod, dish, and the two courses were on a prefix menu. Hard to believe for the quality of the food.

I loved this place. The French items and the lamb are their specialties. They also have live music at times, although not in the part of the restaurant we were in.

Well, the food is amazing. Just 10/10, but the service is quite poor. I had a reservation but upon arrival I was told by the girl at front desk that there was no seat available and I was asked to come back later. I spoke to someone else and was able to get a seat within a few minutes, which just shows either their internal inconsistency or perhaps the first person that I spoke to was being racist. Anyway, I was being put in the corner and nobody came to take my order until about 15 minutes later. When I was trying to pay, I had to follow up 3 times just to get the check. Honestly, despite the good food quality, I cannot see myself coming back due to the service quality

Came here to celebrate a birthday and the server brought out a complimentary dessert. We ordered escargot, the prawn linguine, the rack of lamb and the crème brûlée. Would highly recommend eating here. Live jazz was playing as well. Always a great time at Modavie, this is our 4th time dining here

My husband and I were in Montréal celebrating my 50th and we were blessed to meet Lorenzo who took phenomenal care of us. He was such a kindred soul who added to our overall experience. The food and the drinks were amazing. Thank you for the special treatment!

Very unique brunch experience. The duck waffle was something special, and the croque madame with lamb was insanely tasty - I honestly can’t even decide which one I liked more. Beautiful atmosphere, live music, and such a nice attentive staff. Definitely a place worth coming back to!!

Very good food. The menu has a balanced mix of French, Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. Prices are medium to high range but reflective of the quality. Each dish we had, from the duck confit to the pan seared Cod filet were well presented and delicious. The service was professional and frequent. The jazz was smooth and elevated our dining experience. The patrons were loud though so we had to make an effort to hear each other. Overall a great dining experience and evening that I recommend to everyone.

Had a great lunch at Modavie in Montreal. The poutine was surprisingly one of the best we had during the trip, definitely worth trying. We also ordered the lamb pasta and the duck confit — both were absolutely delicious, especially the duck, which was tender and full of flavor. The atmosphere was cozy and lively with great music, and the location in Old Montreal is perfect for walking around before or after dinner. The only downside is that parking nearby can be a bit difficult. Overall, highly recommend!

I truly wish, I made effort to review the 1 star reviews before coming here. The food was bland, I’m extremely disappointed because as a visitor in Montreal, I have had more tasty meals in this city. Don’t bother to waste your money if you’re a foodie.

People outside recommended this place to us while we were looking at the menu and it did not disappoint. Lorenzo was so accommodating and personable to our walk-in group, shifting around things to fit us comfortably and checking in on us intermittently. Dimitri was a friendly server who made the best drinks. Food and drinks were fantastic; ambience was beautiful. I feel like this restaurant is a hidden gem. Highly recommend!

Absolutely fantastic food, service and ambience. Highly recommend the lamb, risotto and creme brûlée. Our server, George, was attentive and took time to discuss the menu with us. Overall a fabulous experience, we be back and will recommend to our friends.

Outstanding spot for some afternoon cocktails and light apps. Had a great time with Lorenzo and the rest of the staff. Great spot for some superb cuisine and great bubbles by the glass!
