The location was in the Old Town of Montreal which was amazing. The service was great our server was really kind. The food was delicious and lastly enjoyed the live music and overall vibe
We had a nice dinner at Modavie restaurant. The place has a great atmosphere and feels lively, especially with the live music playing during the evening. We ordered salmon fillet with barley and a glass of wine. The food tasted fresh and was very tasty. The salmon was well prepared and the dish was nicely balanced. The restaurant was quite busy, which shows it’s a popular place. Because of the live music and the number of guests, it can also get a bit loud, but it adds to the energetic atmosphere. Overall, it’s a nice place with good food, live music, and a vibrant setting. 🎶🍷🐟
This restaurant fulfills everything you'd ever want! Delicious food, expertly crafted cocktails, live music, and awesome vibes! We will be back...
Outstanding for and service
Service was friendly and ambiance was nice. Bread was fresh and butter was good. Jazz music was played live as we ate our tuna tartare, cod and rice with lobster bisque, steak and fries and crème brûlée 🍮 Street parking with meters.
Just wow!
We had a great day at Modavie. We had reservations at night but we were in the area in the afternoon so we stopped in. We had never been here before. We had a fabulous time listening to the live jazz music in the other room, enjoying some specialty drinks, and light food sitting at the bar. The manager (possibly the owner) who greeted us was ao nice!! He chatted with us in both languages and he was so charming and paid lots of attention to my Mom. We came back at night to a lovely table on the 2nd floor where we thoroughly enjoyed more live jazz music from a different trio. The manager/owner and the serving staff were once again amazing and the food was delicious. We are from Ottawa and my 80 year old mother hadn't been to Old Montreal in over 20 years and wanted to visit. Thanks to the manager, a very nice gentleman, its a great experience she will never forget. On the way out, the manager went out of his way during a busy time for him, to catch up to my Mom as she was about to step into the street, to say thank you. Its the little things that matter the most and we will never forget this restaurant and we highly recommend it after two visits in the same day. Thank you for the memorable day!!
Our server William is exceptionally pleasing and nice and very helpful. The place is very tranquil and tasteful and I love the background jazz music , food tastes excellent!! 🥰
The cocktails were sublime and the fois gras absolutely delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed the live music coming from the back room as we dined at the bar. Presentation, flavor, and service on point, no notes. The staff were all bilingual which is immensely helpful as a tourist. The atmosphere upstairs is quite nice, but the women's bathroom should be avoided if possible.
Amazing experience ! The atmosphere is warm and elegant, and the live music adds a really special touch. The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and the service was attentive and friendly. A wonderful restaurant in Old Montreal that I would definitely recommend.
Beautiful restaurant! It has a rly nice aesthetic. Service was great and so was the jazz. The food was pretty good, but could have used more seasoning. The portions were on the small side. For the price I think the food should’ve been 20% better. Overall I recommend:)
I've had my birthday dinner at Modavie and the whole dining experience was beyond exceptional! Food was amazing, we particularly enjoyed the foie gras toast and duck confit (even better than the ones we had in Paris!). Our server Mathias is super friendly and attentive, checking in from time to time if we enjoyed the meal, and even gave me a surprise with a dessert to celebrate my birthday. Absolutely will revisit again when travelling to Montreal - highly highly recommend!
Food was very average. Appetizer crust was stale. Cod was tough. Music was very loud. Overall not a great experience
One of the greatest restaurants I have been to. My wife invited me there on my birthday and I loved it! There was even a live band playing Jazz that day 🤩 The food was great especially the appetizers and the desserts. The waiter George was really friendly. We even became friends with him and he offered us a dessert on the house! Would definitely go back there this summer. I recommend it to anyone visiting Montreal or spending an evening around the Old Port
The atmosphere was very comfortable and friendly! That's a bit rare for busy restaurants, so five stars for me.
My husband, 2 year old son, and I stopped in for a mid week lunch and we're very impressed. The service was wonderful, both William and Lorenzo took great care of us. They were both so kind and attentive, and treated my son as just as important as the rest of us at the table. The food was excellent! Stand outs were their soup of the day, which was a carrot and broccoli soup, their salmon tartar, and the rack of lamb. William was also helpful with wine pairings to go with our meals. We will definitely be back next to we visit Montreal.
Good food and great service. There might be some waiting involved in between appetizers and main course. Parking is an issue.
Had an absolutely wonderful dining experience here! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations. The food was exceptional - fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor. The portions were generous and well worth the price. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, and despite being busy, we didn't feel rushed. The dessert was the perfect ending to our meal. We'll definitely be returning soon and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal and excellent service. Five stars!
Had a late lunch here last week. Food was excellent and the service impeccable. Lorenzo the Maite d’ is a real gentleman and made us feel very welcome Will be back again (and again). Thank you
Went here for Valentine’s 💖 The table was decorated with flower petals, and the vibe was really nice 🤎 Can’t wait to catch the live jazz performance next time 🎷 Honestly, I remember the atmosphere more than the food.
Had an amazing meal here to end our vacation in Montreal! The Mushroom Risotto looks small but is surprisingly filling, and the mushrooms are incredibly fragrant. The Poutine had a sauce that was flavorful but not too heavy, really impressed us. Lamb chop were very tender and fried calamari were also delicious, and the warm bread was a lovely touch. The dessert was very tasty, we had apple strudel and cream brûlée were both outstanding. They also have live band in dinner time , we enjoyed so much. Great customer and vibe , definitely return again.
All around great
French onion soup and escargot were to die for
