Fun vibes, great food, and super nice servers!
What guests say about La Buche
La Bûche is highly appreciated for its authentic Quebec cuisine, hearty brunches, and desserts like pouding chômeur. The atmosphere is warm, original, and festive, with the decor often mentioned in reviews as a major highlight. Several customers recommend booking ahead, as the place is often very busy and a bit cramped or noisy. A few reviews also mention high prices and, occasionally, uneven service or wait times.

Great food, busy atmosphere- feels a bit like a cruise ship tourist trap but the food makes up for it. Cocktails are okay. Price is a little high. Service was fine and friendly.
Food was excellent! Service was top notch. Nice lively atmosphere.
Fantastic food and THE BEST SERVICE!! We have returned there multiple times on this trip just great!!
Fun place. Great food with locals and tourists alike. Fantastic food and good music.
After a long walk in the rain, this place was exactly what I needed. What I loved most was the atmosphere — the smell, the sounds, and the overall warm feeling of the restaurant. The food definitely lived up to it as well. I also really appreciated how kind and welcoming the staff were. I would definitely recommend this place!
Very good regional Quebec cuisine and atmosphere. Food was very nice, cocktails and wine selection too. Very nice service experience.
Great atmosphere and decor inside, very cosy. Food really good and the option to upgrade your fries to poutine on some dishes is great. The poutine is really delicious. No real veggie options apart from the poutine but it’s great.
Busy place likely due to the quality of the food which was excellent as was the service. Onion soup was very special as well. I had the la cassaulade(?) which was the confit duck leg with ham and a sausage…it was delicious but a large portion of food. My wife has the trout carpaccio which I understand was also great. Highly recommend this restaurant but you might need a reservation.
Absolutely amazing restaurant. - World class service. - Fluently bilingual. - Very tasty breakfast. Check out the unique washroom facilities downstairs.
Great atmosphere and food under the sun. Must try!
Cute spot. Great location. Limited items for lunch during brunch. Service was ok. Friendly but not attentive. Food was also just ok.
Fantastic food at reasonable prices. Great atmosphere and service.
Rare experience where everything is exceptional Ambience was unique and true to Quebec. Food: made with love and care. Everything down to the temperature and texture amazing. Service : everyone has friendly energy. We had miscommunication where our unfinished food accidentally got thrown out instead of put in a take out box - however our server made it so we had our entire meals remade to be given full and to be taken home. Rare step where someone and a restaurant went truly above and beyond
La Buche (and its sister restaurant, La Buchette) are a must when visiting Quebec City! It offers traditional cuisine and ambiance. We visited for breakfast and dinner multiple times. Special shoutout to our waiter Tommi who remembered our drink preferences on the second day!
An interesting to dine and have a drink in what can be described as a truly Quebecois experienece The atmosphere of the folks there in a very well decorated interior if one can say in that it is a bit like a cabane a sucre or sugar shack There is plenty to eat and the staff are super friendly Highly recommended if you are in Quebec City Worth a visit !!!!
Delicious food, really friendly service, really attentive staff. Highly recommend this place for the brunch.
Enjoyed our Quebec food especially les Oreilles de Crisse which were reminiscent of a Sugar Shack we went to many years ago. Meat pie was tasty. Enjoyed the French Canadian background music (one of the only place while in Quebec City that we heard French music). Relaxed vibe and good service.
I ordered the shepherd's pie. It tasted okay. The beef part was very dry and tough. After eating it, I felt quite uncomfortable and it was hard to digest. The mashed potato and corn part was alright. The service staff had a very good attitude.
We ordered Sheppard meat pie, French onion soup, deer tartare, and pork loin. Sheppard meat pie was kinda taste really simple. Nothing really special and is kind of under seasoned for me. French onion soup and deer tartare was both good, the thick grilled cheese on the top tastes nice with the onion soup. The pork loin itself was a little dry inside but the hash brown on the side tastes surprisingly super good! From all the dishes the hash brown was the top.. Service itself was friendly but we waited for almost an hour for our order….and paid 136 for two ppl.
It's a must! The food, service and decor was perfect. The waiter handing out sharpies for us to sign our names was icing on the cake. Highly recommend
Such a cute place. Great service and food.
Great food and service
If you are looking for a fun, and delicious dinner go to La Buche! We really enjoyed the Québécois vibe 😊
I ate at this restaurant 4 times in 3 days during my stay in Quebec and it hit the spot every single time. I cannot recommend this place enough, it does all the Quebec staples exceptionally well. Poutine, tourtiere, cheese platter, maple deserts, all incredibly delicious
