Make a reservation! We had a reservation but still had to wait while they seated the other people who also had reservations at the same time. Maybe 5-10 min wait. The interior was unique and a wonderfully eclectic decor providing entertainment by just looking around. The bathroom is also truly unique and a must see. The food was great, service was quick and efficient and we had a wonderful time!

Proper québécois food. Breakfast poutine was spectacular as were the crepes, though my favorite was the fèves au lard - well worth adding as a side to brunch. Also had a few of their beers which were excellent. Incredible experience.

We had a great time. Our waiter was fantastic, the music was great, and we all enjoyed trying the Quebecois specialties. Highly recommend.

Not my first time in La Buche and had I lived closer it wouldn’t have been the last. It’s a beautiful, lively place, full of interesting twists on Quebecois cuisine. The food is fresh and tasty, the “breakfast” and “brunch” options include both vegetarian and meat options, and has sweet and savory options; the dinner menu is not suitable for vegetarians (when I was there only the onion soup was meat free and it is not a big portion). The staff is welcoming, kind and helpful. There is some nice music in the background and it’s very lively - so it can get busy and loud. It’s best to have a reservation. I highly recommend a brunch there, especially if you have a sweet tooth or like experimenting with classical dishes like poutine in new propositions.

Very busy place with every inch of floor covered with tables. Very friendly service ! The food was good with a large menu offering something for everyone. The walls are covered with local animals and antique artwork. The bathrooms are quite an interesting look !

We were a big group of 10 with a reservation at 9.30 but showed up two hours early due to some change of plans. They were kind to accommodate us anyway! The onion soup, ribs, salmon was amazing! The Buche de Noel was the perfect dessert, so delicious.!!

Do not recommend. Would not return. Visited over Christmas holiday for brunch/lunch. Long queue but it does move reasonably quickly. The service was horrid, we were being ignored repeatedly (I have to ask for my coffee refill three distinct times over my meal). One of us ordered the poutine dejeuner but it came with no sauce. According to the menu, it replaced the meat gravy typical of traditional poutine with Bechamel sauce. We asked our server about the sauce and she came back with a kitchen staff insisting that what we ordered does not come with Bechamel sauce with an attitude that is accusing us of being unreasonable, demanding something that doesn’t exist by the menu. They eventually gave us some out of the goodness from their heart (in an extremely unkind manner). Essentially gaslighting us. Food looks fine but portion for price is not great. The decor was cute as a lumberjack-core.

Traditional Québécois food - the poutine was fire! Appreciated the homeyness of the establishment. Pro Tip: Get the Grand Bloody Mary - they definitely do an excellence job. We went for Brunch - definitely will be back for dinner so we can try the deer tartare.

We went there for brunch and, although the wait time was short, we had to stand outside on the street, which was really cold—but it was absolutely worth it. The décor was fascinating; I loved every corner of the place. Even the washrooms were completely different from any restaurant washrooms we’ve seen before. The staff were very friendly, and the food was excellent. The crêpes were delicious, and the lumberjack skillet is a must-try. The drip coffee was tasty as well. Highly recommended!

On a super cold night, this place was very cozy and warm. The food was delicious. We were party of 6, and everything we ordered was amazing. From the apps we had the pickle medley, deer tartar, salmon tartar, smoked trout, and everyone kicked it with the French Onion soup. Yummy!!! I loved the smoked trout appetizer so much that I had the trout salad for my main. The combination of the smoked trout and the goat cheese with greens was so so so good. Be sure to make a reservation.

Cozy spot with excellent service. We had brunch and it was amazing. There was live music playing. The whole restaurant is lovely. I would say, make a reservation if you're going during busy times and don't bring bags. There's not much space.

From the moment I walked in, I knew there was something truly special about this spot and it did not disappoint. The interior alone left me speechless: incredibly creative décor with antlers and skis hanging from the ceiling, and even a bathtub sink in the restroom that made the whole experience feel fun and unforgettable. The customer service was just as impressive; warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly from start to finish. The food was excellent, perfectly prepared, and clearly made with care. And as if it couldn’t get any better, the coffee was free, which was such a nice and unexpected touch. This place is definitely popular, so be prepared for a long line if you don’t snag a reservation but it’s absolutely worth the wait. An unforgettable breakfast experience that I can’t recommend enough!

This place was a lot of fun and clearly incredibly popular with tourists who read TripAdvisor and Google reviews when searching for restaurants (yeah that included me). We had a 5pm reservation day after Christmas and there was already a huge queue of people waiting outside, freezing, with no reservation. Very atmospheric inside and the staff said they sat over 1200 people on average per night. Casual place but adventurous food at a premium price. High hipster factor but not in an obnoxious way. I think we sat at a picnic table and you could draw on any wood surface in the restaurant (which was basically every surface). Staff was excellent, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. Portions were on the small side - that's my only comment, not really a complaint. Soups were ridiculously good. It probably sounds silly but I would have loved a steak - but that wasn't an option and I can't fault the restaurant for that. Venison tartare was a main course and was really good, but I should have ordered another course or larger app. Anyway, very cool place and just make sure you make a reservation.

I would give La Buche 10 stars if I could! The entire dining experience was wonderful; from the moment we were greeted by the host outside, to the exceptional service by our server, to the phenomenal dishes, to the decor, and the ambience. We ordered the foie gras, deer tartar, rib steak, and the poor man’s pudding (must try Quebec speciality!) This was my families favorite meal of 2025!
