Wasn’t sure after reading some less than positive reviews but we were 6 adults and love it. Yes, touristy but unique atmosphere /experience. Our waitress was wonderful, kept the mimosas flowing, recommended a great pub on St. Jean rue. Food was so much better than expected,. Recommend as a must visit.

Beautiful restaurant, great and warm vibe, super nice and friendly staff, and ofcourse super delicious food! The shepherd's pie was perfect!
Highly recommend this place the food was absolutely delicious and the service was amazing!
We enjoyed this restaurant so much that we ended up coming back twice in two days. The food was consistently delicious, with generous portions and great flavors. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and attentive. A place we would happily return to again deffo a must for any visit to Old Quebec City.
Such a wonderful experience 😍
We were greeted with a smile, our table was ready. Our waiter recommended a light crepe for us, which we split. It came split with two different plates( nice bonus). Americano coffee excellent and the latte was good. Highly recommend the place, very nice ambience
Unfortunately it was disappointing. First, the environment was not pleasant. Although the decorations are fun and rustic, the tables felt greasy and the entire place had a strong unpleasant smell. It smelled like cleaning chemicals mixed with damp wood, almost like a musty odor that never fully dried. Second, the food was really not good. I understand traditional Québécois cuisine can sometimes lean sweet, but everything we tried was excessively sweet. The venison dish had a strange flavor — sweet but also with a mustard-like sharpness, and the seasoning didn’t cover the gamey smell at all. After trying a few appetizers we decided to leave. Service was also quite average. No one really explained the menu or helped with recommendations. Overall it was not worth the price, mainly because the food quality was disappointing.
I cannot rate this place highly enough, my husband and I love it so much. Stopping here is a must when we are in Quebec. The cabane à sucre platter is to die for. The coffee is delicious. The staff are friendly and accommodating. Cool ambiance and vibe. I only wish they had a baby changing table but other than that it is perfection! Already counting down to the next visit!
A great experience made possible with yummy good, quick service and a comfortable atmosphere. Looking forward to a return visit.
Food is extremely sweet. Maple syrup poured on everything. Poutine was really good but everything else was just too sweet and waiting for a call to the dentist! Foie gras was eatable after we added salt to it!
Super!
Although we enjoyed everything at the restaurant, my husband and I have been up all night extremely sick. Not sure what caused it but it didn’t land well.
Great quebecois cuisine, homey and hearty. Shepherds Pie was fantastic and poor man’s pudding was the highlight!
The breakfast we had was exceptional, from the atmosphere to the service you won’t be left disappointed.
Amazing food, the friendliest staff for out of towners such as myself. Great atmosphere, cozy and quaint. I will return here next time I visit the city. It was a treat!
Staff was incredibly friendly. Taxidermy forty’s rate. And as for the food, it was as bountiful and I left a clean plate. Go for the big sampler and say yes to mimosas.
Good quality of food , followed the reviews and did not regret visiting this restaurant
Onion soup was solid 5/5 The rest of the food was mid at best.
We had a very enjoyable evening here. The food was delicious and plentiful, and the service was friendly.
I was beyond excited to dine at this restaurant. The atmosphere is amazing and the service excellent. However, I expected the food to match. The poutine was mediocre and the tourtière was disappointing - dry, big chunks of meat, puff pastry on top. The fruit ketchup was divine though. And the crepes sublime. Since portions are very generous, skip dinner and go straight for the desert.
We come for breakfast. All menu we order was superb.
We ordered the butcher's casserole and it only had about one forkful of meat. Besides two eggs, the dish was all potatoes and cheese. Carbs carbs carbs (and good fat). If you like diabetes and weight gain, great place!Friendly staff though!Got the impression of mostly American clientele.
The service was really good and our waiter was very attentive and hospitable. 🙂The atmosphere was very much like a warm log cabin, nice and cozy. 😊Unfortunately the food was very underwhelming. My wife and I really wanted to like the food, especially because we were looking forward to going all week. Someone recommended that we have the shepherds pie, and it was sadly bland. We aren’t big food critics, we just had higher hopes for it especially with the price. 😣The appetizer was honestly our favorite dish of the night.😅 (Meat Pie Nuggets)Overall, it’s probably a fun and cozy spot for families with young kids. If you’re looking for bold, standout flavors, it may not fully hit the mark — but the service and ambiance were definitely highlights.
We had brunch here in and loved it! The crêpe and omelette were both delicious, not over seasoning and the maple syrup yogurt was incredibly smooth and flavorful—even better the next day. Portions are generous, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the cozy cabin-like vibe is really charming. Loved the artistic touches, even in the restroom! Highly recommend.
