My husband and I came to La Buche last weekend and it was phenomenal! We both go the Shepherds Pie. It was the best shepherds I’ve ever had! Can’t wait to come back hopefully next year!

An authentic Quebec,Canadian place, the feel of a sugar camp, food is real good, service was nice, loved it,well priced, the waiter even offered us our 2nd Mimosa because we had waited a little long for the first one, definitely an old Quebec experience worth having,we did reserve and got the best seat in the house.
Amazing québecois food! Poutine, maple cola and maple candy was delicious! Friendly staff and located in beautiful Old Quebec!
Looked at a lot of the restaurants in the area this one won because of its atmosphere.
Super belle ambiance, super service .
If you want an elevated “sugar-shack” experience without attending one; this is your spot. We went for dinner service and the gentleman that was serving us was by far the best customer I’ve receive in hospitality in a very long time. Personable and courteous. (Please give a high five to the Chilean gentleman.) Now the food- we had the $70 per person feast that allows you to try majority of their menu. The show stopper was the foie gras pudding chômeur. A beautiful balance between sweet and salty. Honestly probably the reason why this dish set the bar so high. Also, don’t try to finish everything on your own, you’ll just make yourself sick lol. It’s decadent but so good. We also had the salmon tartare and deer tartare. The salmon was unfortunately too fishy and the deer tartare needed some brightening/acidic flavour profile. The rest: meat tasted too dry for my personal liking. Overall, I would personally give the food itself a 6.8/10. The experience itself was great. Music and decor was eclectic. Great if you’re out of town, want to bring someone from out of town.
Hipster lumberjack vibes. Super cool spot with great service and good food.
amazing traditional quebecois restaurant. my boyfriend and i got the cabane a sucre plate to share with an extra french toast and it was the best brunch i’ve ever had. incredibly balanced between salty and sweet. the ambiance is great too. 10/10 recommend and i made a reservation beforehand which was good during peak brunch hours.
Food was just alright I really don't get the hype I had better food else where without having to get a reservation. Otherwise it was cute and service was average just busy because I think they all status at the same time relatively
The food was like comfort food. The staff were soo polite and helpful This place has a great atmosphere and the food is good !
The food was amazing! Best dining experience during our visit to Quebec. Must try the tourtiere and the pudding dessert!!
My teenage kids had a blast here-- it was a highlight of our trip-- great food, fun ambiance, and so much energy in the room. Noisy and boisterous-- they loved it.
Food was good! (At least what we ate) Service was amazing. They have accommodated all our desires and gave us a lot of good impressions! However, I still think its little bit overrated, probably because of the New Year's season! Overall I would still recommend to visit!
An urban sugar shack in the heart of Old Quebec? Mais oui! It was fabulous! We went New Year's Day (highly recommend to get reservations in advance so you do not wait in the cold), and the atmosphere is so warm and inviting, you feel immediately at home! It was very kind that they tend to seat visitors in the rooms away from the frigid air...if you come in the front door, the first two rooms are a bit chilly, so they tend to put visiters in the warmer rooms of the restaurant out of the cold! Very kind! The pea soup is extraordinary, you must try, the shepherd pie is very tasty and a generous portion, if you are not four people, I recommend the mini-version of the sugar shack plate complete with Canadian bacon, sausages, crepe with maple butter and blueberries, scrambled eggs, beans, a really good breakfast meatball, and much more! A band played music quebecoise. It was amazing. You can even get maple taffy that you make on an ice top bar. Make sure to check it out, and next door is their gift shop where you can take home Karibou wine and fun souvenirs! A must-see!
This was my second time visiting La Buche and it was just as great as the first time. I was really impressed with the service. We went on New Year’s Day and the place was packed, one of the members of our group was running late therefore we had to wait to order. The staff did not make a big deal, they never put pressure on us to start ordering and they were very forgiving about the situation. The food was delicious, I highly recommend this place if you’re a tourist and would like to taste classic Québecois dishes. They also offer a sugar shack experience all year round ! One of my favorite restaurants 😊
This was a highlight of our time in Quebec city!! We loved the food, the fun, warm decor and especially the bathroom set up with the head washing bathtub sink set up! And what really made our day was when the staff were singing along to the music:) It was a great vibe and such a fun experience for us. We really enjoyed it.
It’s such a welcoming restaurant—every time I pass by, I see a crowd of people are crammed on the street outside the door, even in freezing weather. Luckily, I managed to book a table after several tries. If you’d like to try typical Quebecois cuisine, you should definitely go there—it won’t let you down. We ordered some popular brunch dishes, and everything was perfect. Next time, we’ll try their supper menu.
Delicious food, fantastic atmosphere, great service. Went back twice the food was so good.
Always the best representation in one dish about the Québec cuisine
A highlight of Quebec City, great food and environment
Super cute and excellent food. Be sure to make a reservation!
Portions are small. Poutine is great! Ambiance is very Quebecois.
Fun spot to experience some Quebec food and atmosphere. Great service, cool vibes, fun things to see inside. Highly recommend. Definitely make a reservation.
yes a bit touristy but excellent food & drink plus live music & excellent service. Worth the crowds/make a reservation!
Amazing food, great mimosas! ;)
