Great local place for local cuisine. I had the Quebec version of shepherds pie and it was outstanding. A fire alarm went off in error so we listened to the claxon until the staff covered it with duct tape and masking tape. The fire department entered and cleared the problem to the applause of the patrons. Busy and fun and a can’t miss place.

The best pub! We love the tavern vibe. And most of all, their food is DIVINE! Their Shepherd's Pie is the best! The poor man's pudding is to die for! Best place to recommend to eat when you're in Québec!

Lively Québécois experience in the heart of old town. The music, decor, and menu connect you to this unique country - maple syrup on everything and three types of meat. Tasty and rich foods, and a wonderful salad with smoked fish. Great de-alcoholized beer options too. Friendly and fun staff.

Driving a tour of high school students. Stopped to read the menu and heard the local music. I stopped in and saw the decor. Has a very relaxed pub style atmosphere with picnic table seating and tractor style seats at the bar. I would highly recommend the Quebec style shepherds pie and the maple crepe dessert. Amazing food and super friendly staff.

While very touristy, La Buche is a super fun spot and has good dishes! I recommend their poutine and the candied salmon salad, the latter being the highlight

Decent food overall, nothing extraordinary I had the traditional poutine. On 19 MAY the host was less than welcoming, but the waitstaff was better. The atmosphere and decor of the restaurant was fun.

Cannot even begin to describe how amazing our experience here was. I brought my parents to Quebec City to celebrate their 50th anniversary, and we were treated in the most special way you can imagine. From when we arrived to when we left, Kalla and the rest of the team were so incredibly kind and sweet. It was BUSY in there, but everyone made us feel like we were the only people in the restaurant. They brought out complimentary champagne for us, and when Kalla realized that my parents don't drink her immediate reaction was to see what else she could do. Every minute there was special and my dad in particular felt bonded to so many of the wonderful staff, so much so that we ended up with this photo, which they also made time for without hesitation. Thank you thank you thank you, I wanted them to feel special on this trip and your team did that and more.

The design and decor are unique, but the food was really average. Almost everything was overly sweet. The service was also just okay — they forgot to bring the forks, then the milk, then the water.

Overall is good, just maybe my expectation was too high. Omelett was the best, you can really taste the clean/rich egg flavor from the omelette. We also ordered regular 2 egg breakfast and the poutine, not as good as the omelette.

Sunday brunch! This place is busy and the food is really good. This was one of several visits to Quebec City, and every time we visit Quebec, "La Buche" is a must for bruch and delicious food. My favorite was the sugar shack plate and their Mimosas! We were a group of 15 so made reservations weeks in advance Excellent service and very friendly staff

A fun, slightly loud place with fantastic service. Authentic Quebecoise food, very comfort food oriented. They were super friendly. The bacon, oh my!
