Food was incredible! A true french-Canadian experience. Every tourist must try.
What guests say about La Buche
La Bûche is highly appreciated for its authentic Quebec cuisine, hearty brunches, and desserts like pouding chômeur. The atmosphere is warm, original, and festive, with the decor often mentioned in reviews as a major highlight. Several customers recommend booking ahead, as the place is often very busy and a bit cramped or noisy. A few reviews also mention high prices and, occasionally, uneven service or wait times.

Perfect breakfast spot. Our waiter was so kind. She even made suggestions for gluten sensitive meals. I loved the decor and it was an awesome vibe. The food was amazing 🇨🇦🍁
La Buche is our favorite place for breakfast in Quebec City. It has a lively and friendly atmosphere. Do yourself a favor and order Grandpa’s Oatmeal. There is a separate bar area which was also a great place for a post Carneval drink!
Such a fun atmosphere and amazing food and drink. Some delicious modern spins on traditional Québécois dishes.
Great food and great service.
Delicious breakfast and great service. Definitely make a reservation.
We ordered the butcher's casserole and it only had about one forkful of meat. Besides two eggs, the dish was all potatoes and cheese. Carbs carbs carbs. If you like diabetes and weight gain, great place!Friendly staff though!Got the impression of mostly American clientele.
La Bûche was exactly what I was looking for. We did brunch one day and came back for dinner another day. Staff was friendly and perfect vibe. The food was on point and the atmosphere was exactly what we wanted. Super Canadian but not cheesy. I would hands down go again. I also loved that there are seperate rooms so despite a massive crowd it didn’t feel like it. Wonderful experience and I hope to go again.
The dinner was delicious and the staff were all excellent.
The servers are very accommodating, We really appreciate the flowers that you given to us and will suggest the restaurant to our friends
Food was wonderful! Service was amazing. Atmosphere is fun and relaxed.
Loved this place so much that we came back for breakfast a second day! The staff were very welcoming and very professional. The breakfasts were delicious and there was a good variety of items from which to choose. The warm atmosphere and interesting decor were a bonus! Highly recommended.
We loved this restaurant, the food was great and wonderful atmosphere and service. I gave the food 4 stars because of the price. We had the LA BOULETTE À MAMIE which was basically a hamburger patty with peas and mashed potato's. This was $37 for a plate that probably cost less than $5. It tasted great but a bit over priced for my liking.
This was a great experience! Worth the reservation. My partner and I were visiting from the US and we wanted a taste of authentic Quebec cuisine. The atmosphere and menu offerings of this restaurant were perfect! Generous portions and reasonable prices. I appreciated that there was a balanced mixture of locals and tourists in this restaurant.
Great quebecois food, atmosphere, and music. A must for anyone looking for a taste of quebec.
All 3 meals were fantastic! Delicious and healthy portions.
Loved the atmosphere. We were there on the last weekend of Carvivale so it was VERY busy and service was a little slow but it was a great place to have lunch with our family.
Very nice quebecoise dinner, excellent service
We came here during Carnival and loved it! The decorations were very fun, the food was amazing, and the vibes were exactly what we were looking for in a Quebecois restaurant experience. We ordered the Rôti de Cochon (Maple-Glazed Pork Loin) and La Boulette à Mamie (Granny’s Meatball) and loved both dishes.
Amazing experience! Our very picky 6 year old son loved the sausage and I loved the bloody maria! The food, the service, the decor-everything was great!!
Very bad service and treated us badly because we didn't speak French. We were in the regular queue. The guy let ppl with reservations 30 min later in, but made us wait and was very rude
The food is traditional and tasty. Lots of maple syrup, and fatty yummy meats. CAUTION: Do not order the dinner tasting menu unless you haven't eaten in several weeks.
Excellent food, excellent service. Such a gem!
Lively French Canadian atmosphere, great food, local beers, and wonderful service .
Great food, great service, really quirky atmosphere. The staff were really lovely and helpful to recommend other places for us to check out in Quebec. It’s a popular place so I recommend making a reservation in advance if you can. I also highly recommend the poutine with beef — so good!
