the food was amazing!! definitely a go to for any poutine lover. the was very crowded tho and the seating a little uncomfortable.
The manager in a jacket was super disrespectful and tried kicking out a group of 6 people after everyone ordered and paid and gave a 18 percent tip
Not worth the hype
At La Banquise, you have to be patient because it gets crowded, but after the wait, you’re rewarded with a delicious poutine topped with that squishy cheese. There’s nothing quite like poutine, a cold beer, and a good time. Thanks, Quebec.
Lives up to the hype! OMG from the classic to the most elaborate variations, this place is heavy on earth for poutine lovers. They also serve sandwiches and burgers in case you're not in the mood for fries. I'd recommend to go with enough time since lines might be long depending on the time of the day. They also have 24 hour delivery 🔥
Mid. Don't know what's the fuss about this place
Uh oh, it seems as if La Banquise has changed their fries and gravy so that they can mass produce for Uber Eats. Up until now we could only get them by going to the restaurant, but they have recently popped up on Uber Eats and we ordered them. They used to be our favourite. They taste terrible now. The only reason that they get the second star is because the cheese curds are still the original great squeaky curds. If you have loved La Banquise in the past, you won’t love this. Hopefully they haven’t ruined the fries in house, but I doubt it. This the price of progress, eh?
you must try the scooby! best poutine I’ve ever had!!!
After leaving a place across the street for bad service. I was genuinely welcomed into la banquise and had the best poutine ever!! The hostess and server were great.
Loved the poutine and the burger
It's an old school feel. Hard to get parking but great food! If you come after 12pm it is super packed!
We had a amazing moment there be it with food vibes and the service was so welcoming and nice. The poutine were delicious and the portions generous. I recommend 100%
I ordered the same meal at both locations. The primary one on Rachel and the ghost kitchen one on Saint-Denis and the difference is that if you go and order in person at the location on Rachel (the famous one) it’s less expensive but you get less, if you order via app for take-out it’s more expensive but you get slightly more, the differences are in the photo. I ordered the Fred Caillou and came to $21 at restaurant tax-incl and around $25 at ghost kitchen (only pickup). The ghost kitchen is almost invisible if you’re driving but it’s a small entryway that snakes down into a kitchen but it’s there. When I went I thought it was a mistake and another drive also thought same so we both drove to Rachel and told the guy but turns out it’s there just very hard to find since signs are barely visible if you’re driving. Both taste the same, but guess they don’t want too many people waiting around so they setup a ghost kitchen to deter people from going to Rachel. Too busy is a good problem! Great food the quality of the meat, cheese and sauce is great much better than average even at late night which is rare. Bon appetite! (ps the staff working the graveyard shift was very cool, perfectly bilingual and patiently heard our issue with ghost kitchen. all good).
Great experience
Good food bad service, unprofessional to coworkers
Highly recommend the Elvis which comes with a generous portion of meat. On a slightly negative note, my girlfriend got the classic poutine which was mostly just fries. For some reason there was only a small amount of gravy and cheese curds in the very middle. Place was very busy so I’m going to assume this was simply a rare mistake. Still enjoyed the food, it’s a classic poutine spot, but it’s by no means the best you can find.
La Banquise had lots of options and lots of delicious meals to pick! If you ever come to Montreal, it’s a place that you are REQUIRED to dine at!
The staff were phenomenal!! The food was incredible!!! One thing I can’t stop thinking about is the soft tender pepperoni I have on top of my poutine 🤤🤤🤤
So many poutine options! Thank you for the vegan friendly options! 🌱💚
This is the best spot to go when nothing else is open in town—they’re open 24 hours! The poutine is absolutely amazing, and the service is fast (though sometimes there’s a short wait). Don’t forget to try their root beer—it’s a perfect complement. Highly recommend! They have vegetarian option available
Truely incredible experience. The poutine is legit. Gravy is full of flavor. Cheese curds are fresh and squeaky. Fries are absolutely perfect and loved seeing the buckets of prepped potatoes waiting to be fried! Might be the best poutine I've had.
Super good value, and poutine tasted amazing.
We got a poutine on Uber Eats and it was good but not ground breaking. I definitely wish we went in to the store because I think if it was hot it would’ve been perfect
Eveything here is top notch. What a cozy place to enjoy poutine ❤️ I tried reg Grilled Chicken Poutine which was good but the staff is working with an amazing smile was the best part👸👸👸
