It smells worse than a french bordel.

Another MUST when in Montréal!! Sooooooo perfect. Gravy, perfect consistency & flavor. Fries perfect crunch. And the cheese pull!?!??! Exquisite!!!!!!!
It’s a pretty busy place and the service can be a bit rushed. Decent poutine.
best poutine you will ever have !!
Go in person. The take out is shit since they transferred it to a central kitchen expediting orders. Barely any cheese curds and a pool of sauce at the bottom. Absolutely terrible.
Very bad experience... a person at the entrance treated us very badly...
The ambience was absolutely electrifying. I think they have figured out their Poutines to perfection. Will have to comeback to try more options in the Menu.
One of the best, best, best poutines I’ve ever had! We ordered the Hot Dog and Chicken poutines. Both were amazing and incredibly delicious. The chicken poutine had a unique and special flavor that really stood out. The staff were very polite when they noticed we weren’t satisfied with where we were sitting, they immediately offered us the first available table. Even with the crowd and the busy atmosphere, this attention to customers is truly impressive. Service was fast and efficient despite how busy they were.
Beware being scammed by a server named Megan! She entered $79 into the interac machine and handed it to me. As soon as I added the tip, she took the machine and ran off without offering me a copy of the receipt, leaving the bill face down on the table. After leaving, I looked at the original bill and it said $59. I paid over $90 ($79 + tip) for two meals because I trusted the server.
Totally agree on the best Poutine in the area - worth the wait if is busy
Food was amazing , the NEW special VALENTINA was fire!!! 💯 recommend to any one who wants try something new with poutine. To the staff of banquise if you are reading this, keep this new poutine on the menu PLZ
Nice poutine with various choices. French Fries were very well cooked, and it was pleasure to have different styles of poutine in the store (which I believe that I cannot have in other store). Atmosphere in the store was unique. I recommend tourist to visit if first time poutine. Regular size was big enough for an adult man feel full.
We visited La Banquise and ordered two dishes: La Boogalou and La Panoramix poutine. The Boogalou was loaded with plenty of tender pulled pork and tasted delicious, but it had a bit too much sauce — almost turning it into a stew rather than a poutine. The Panoramix, however, was fantastic. The smoked meat was juicy and flavourful, the toppings were generous, and the sour cream on top balanced everything perfectly. Also, their coleslaw salad is surprisingly good! Overall, it was a great experience, and you won’t regret trying their poutine.
If you want a really good poutine experience, I recommend coming here. The smoked meat they put on top of the poutine fries reminds me of brisket from Texas. Very flavorful, juicy, good amount - they don't skimp on the serving.I washed it all down with a banana wheat beer which was perfect.I tried their chocolate cake dessert because I didn't feel like going out and searching for a dessert spot. It wasn't for me but it was still pretty good.
Amazing Poutine place which is open 24hrs!Friendly staff who suggests you the best poutine on the menu!Always a queue so plan accordingly
Food was good but just because we didn’t speak french doesn’t mean you get to be rude with us.
If you get a chance to go here do it. Line up out the door and on the street. Place inside is cute and packed. I ordered The classic poutine, club sandwich and goat cheese salad all 3 were delicious. Nice big portions, great atmosphere and service was excellent. So glad I had a chance to try this place. Will be back for sure!!!!
Look, I didn't come to La Banquise planning to eat my feelings, but with an absurd number of poutine options on the menu, the decision was basically made for me. I stood in line longer than I'd like to admit, debating varieties like it was a serious life choice. It is not. It's gravy and cheese curds. The poutine was good. Really good. The kind of good that makes you briefly forget you're eating a pile of fries in a loud, packed restaurant while a stranger's elbow is in your personal space. Cozy, in a chaotic sort of way. Would I go back? Probably. Will I once again convince myself I'm only getting a small? Absolutely. Some lessons you just never learn.
Great places. I’ll come back.
Hands down the best poutine in the town m!!
It’s a staple for a reason… highly recommend the Montreal smoked meat with mushrooms and sour cream poutine!! Fries were a bit cold at my last visit which was a bit disappointing given it wasn’t very busy on a winter evening
35$ for a large poutine, really? Also the atmosphere is extremely stressful and the staff is rude. I went for a pick up and they would’ve expected a tip on top of that. Poutine was acceptable at best, but it was officially my last time.
Not as expected
One of the best value for the money places in Montreal. $15 breakfast which is hard to finish due to size is hard to beat. Large poutine size is impossible to finish, so get the small size.
