A fun place to eat typical Quebecois poutin in all varations and sizes You name it they have and the portion are fantastic and well presented Worth a visit if you are in Montreal and the place has been around since 1968 when it first opened Highly recommend the restaurant !!!!

Had a great Poutine and an all around fun place to eat and go with friends.
The best poutine I have ever experienced. Great prices and a high energy environment for those that enjoy it.
Delicious food. Very busy popular spot, but the waiters ran it very well for its size. Great atmosphere, decent sized seating but takeout option cuts down on wait times well. Very busy, wait times were a little too long but food was incredible. Best poutine I’ve had in Montreal!
I tried it twice and it was really good
Visited Mar 6’26 after our lunch at Schwartz’s deli!!! Ordered La T-Rex. Although ordered the regular portion ordered, it was massive and loaded with meat when it came. Ordered the onion ring (rondelles) as well. It was so so. Place was quite busy as it was lunch hour. Service was quick. Not suitable for long chit chat though. Seating was tight, very near to other customers, perhaps due to small area of the restaurant.
Abiance vrm nice
Sooo tasty, definitely worth the hype
Guys this place is so delicious I am not even joking, I don’t care how long the wait is. Get in line and you won’t regret it. 10,000,000/10
BEST poutine I’ve ever had!! My post-Montreal Marathon refuel! 🏅
Poutine avec viande fumée is the only thing you should be ordering here it absolutely slaps. Get the big one too, it’s worth it. You don’t think you’ll finish it, trust me you will finish it.
NOT. ENOUGH. CHEESE.
If I can give this place -5 stars I would. The hottest was extremely rude, he made me wait in line to the side shoved me in a corner (where people put their stroller) next to the greasy kitchen, all because I was waiting on my husband to park the scooter- he refused to sit me until my husband came. Then we waited in line ans when they brought us in they placed next to the kitchen and the greasy smell again. We asked for the terrace and they said it was full then took two customer right after us and put them in the terrace. We asked again for the terrace then they said we have to go back in line again. So we left this shitty place. Do not ever go there, there’s so many better spots for poutine in Montreal.
Get ready to get bumped into. Food is soon worth it tho
Went there to introduce someone from California to the real Quebecer poutine greatness. Didnt disappoint.
We order via Uber Eats to try it and the poutine was amazing! Huge portions. Very good!
Hello, I'm from Ottawa. I came here with a friend for the first time and I loved it. This was the best poutine I've ever had in my life. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves poutine. Thank you.
I’ve been to La Banquise multiple times, and it never disappoints. The poutine here is absolute perfection, rich, satisfying, and consistently done right. When it’s not too crowded, the staff are really helpful and take the time to explain the menu or suggest options, which makes the experience even better. We’ve loved everything we’ve tried here so far. Definitely a must-go spot in Montreal.
Mostly to cross off the list. I’d get the original version next time. Don’t think the toppings added enough flavor to be worth it. Left wondering weather or not poutine is my cup of tea or if it was just this spot. I’m glad I tried it though and would still recommend others do so!
While La Banquise is a Montreal “classic”, I don’t think it’s the best poutine in the city or anything. It’s worth it if you want to eat an outrageous poutine with pretty amazing meat combinations but the fries and gravy themselves are pretty average. Basically, I would recommend going there for the novelty but if you are just looking for good poutine, it’s widely available across the city. Plus, the place tends to be very busy and is cramped so it’s hard to sit down and just enjoy yourself.
Service was speedy and friendly! Poutine was hot and fresh! I thought the cheese curds and gravy were great!
Got our La Elvis poutine and it’s amazing! We had it to go since we can’t wait to be seated since the there’s a longgggg line waiting to be seated. We’ll be back again next time we visit Montreal again! 💞
I’ve lived in Montreal 2 years now and finally got around to visiting La Banquise. There was a short (~15min) wait around 3pm. For the large amount of customers and small amount of space, the staff did a great job seating and taking orders quickly. This is easily some of the best poutine I’ve ever had. I had La hot-dog and it was delicious!
I can only describe my experience by poutine my thoughts into song: Poutine, Poutine, Poutine, Poutine I'm begging to love you, I do confess Poutine, Poutine, Poutine, Poutine Please don't take advantage because you're a culinary mess Your taste is beyond compare With lashings of curds of cheddar With soft fries and gravy of deepest brown Your smell is like a breath of spring Your texture is soft like summer rain And I cannot compete with you, Poutine
Great selection of poutines. Extremely long lineup to get in but to be expected as it’s tourist spot. Wasn’t the best poutine I’ve had but still good.
