BEST POUTINE IVE EVER HAD! loved the service, loved the food! It was so good i went again the next night. the waiter remembered me and my previous order AHAHAHAHAH and when I proceeded to order the same thing he recommended me a new sauce that would elevate my experience. 10/10 would recommend if youre in Montreal!

The archetypal poutine, I finally got to try it and it lived up to the hype. I got a regular classic poutine and a diet pepsi and had a really good experience. Everything about the poutine was very classic indeed and done well but no particular component was mind-blowing because it will be like other very good poutines you have had, so if you are an afficianado you might want to try some of the many options. But I was happy to see the price was not inflated despite the fame. The service was very nice and very prompt and I still felt very welcome as a table of one. Definitely the gold standard of poutine and there are so many options, including for vegetarians, so it's a great place to bring friends.

On our first trip to Canada, we HAD to try poutine in what has been called "the best poutine in Montreal". Admittedly, I don't know much about poutine (since this was my first experience) but I can say that the poutine was DELICIOUS! My 7 year old grand daughter fell in love with poutine there and has asked me to make it for her homemade. Not only was the food excellent, the service was fantastic and the atmosphere lively but not over the top! Thank you for having us and introducing us to a Canadian staple❤️

An eclectic and insane selection of poutines and open 24/7? What's not to like! Certainly worth the hype and a visit if you are in Montreal and want an authentic or crazy poutine. The service was great and this place is awesome.

It has been years since I have been but it was always a great experience (especially in the middle of the night)! Next time I am in Montreal this is a non-negotiable stop for me.

Open 24/7. Poutine was a bit dry. And not enough cheese for the size of poutine

Really good poutine. But the reason why I'm giving only 2 stars is because the server told me that I needed to tip more. I was quite taken aback by that as tipping is to the discretion of the customer. I already tipped a reasonable amount, but the moment I heard that, I wanted to cancel my tip. Tipping is NOT something that is required, it is an act of courtesy. Overall I had a bad experience because of the server, and I'm probably never returning.

La Banquise is an absolute must‑visit in Montreal La Banquise delivered exactly what we came for: legendary poutine and a fun, lively vibe. I went for the smoked meat poutine — L’Obélix — and it was outstanding. Perfect fries, rich gravy, plenty of cheese curds, and that smoky, tender meat on top took it over the edge. My brother ordered La Elvis, which was loaded, indulgent, and exactly the kind of over‑the‑top poutine you hope it will be. Our niece kept it classic with La Classique, and even the simplest version was spot‑on. When a place nails the basics, you know the rest is going to be great. They also have a surprisingly good craft beer selection, which paired perfectly with the food and the atmosphere. If you’re in Montreal and craving poutine — whether you want traditional or something wild — La Banquise absolutely lives up to the hype. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

The poutine was really good! There is a bit of a wait, but it's worth it. It's a very busy restaurant and quite loud.

Delicious poutine though it was my “first” poutine in Montreal so take that with a grain of salt. It was quite packed when I went. In my humble experience, it was a great poutine but I can SURE there are better ones in Montreal. What makes this place unique is that there are so many combinations for your poutine so you can get the poutine you want. I typically only order the basic poutine because it allows me to really see how each place tackles the basics. I think La Banquise is a really SAFE option for a poutine. Great for a first timer. Great as a foundation of better things to come. I am positive you can get a basic poutine out there in Montreal that tastes better, comes out faster, and you don’t need to wait in line for it before sitting down. The basic poutine was just fine. Delicious, yes, but nothing really stood out to me. The cheese was fine. The gravy was fine, not that rich in my opinion. The fries were fine. It was just all right.

Absolutely gross!!! Used to be the very best poutine in Montreal. Now the chicken is fake, the peas are cold and canned and there were about 6 pieces of cheese. Also the fries were not even cooked, still raw in the middle. Such a disappointment for a landmark. Will never go back
