I love this restaurant. I have been coming here for years and always include it in any trip to Montreal. The steak is fabulous, great seafood, apps, wine, drinks and desserts are first rate. Do not miss an opportunity to eat here. Another fabulous meal at Gibby's had the Diane Steak and Shrimp cocktail both were excellent. They are making some changes it appears and in my view the best. They used to have a special cake just for birthdays that will be missed. The Monte Carlo potato does not seem quite as good but that may be me. Overall still excellent but feels like it has lost something special. The one thing that is not diminished at all are the best in class servers. Warm, welcoming and professional They are the heart of the place and make it all special. Our server tonight Alexa was the best of them. We had a throughly enjoyable evening and a wonderful meal from appetizers to dessert.

I had an amazing time here. I'm just visiting Montreal for the week and this was my first dinner stop. I got the mother's day package for myself. The food was delicious and my server was fantastic. The cocktails were also quite good. I left the place somewhat drunk and very happily stuffed.

What a great time! Caroline was amazing. She is very attentive, funny, efficient. The little touches that gibbys offers for birthdays and even the little suprise when ordering the new old fashion drink was so cool! The beef wellington is just perfection. Can't wait to go back. A big thanks to all the staff who are super friendly.

I had one of the best customer service experiences ever thanks to Scott. He was super kind, calm, professional, and truly made my night. I came on Friday night and everything about Gibbys was amazing. The restaurant itself is beautiful I absolutely loved the vibe and the aesthetic. The food was incredible from start to finish. Everything was perfect, from the taste to the presentation. But the real highlight of the night was Scott, who went above and beyond to make sure everything was exactly to my liking and it definitely was. I honestly don’t usually write reviews unless a place truly leaves an impression on me, and Gibbys absolutely did. I will for sure be coming back, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great dining experience. You will not be disappointed. 10/10.

Born and raised here just to make this clear for people that want to nag and complain and gossip stop your non sense to all the 3 and 4 star reviews nothing, nobody or and restaurant or business in general realistically can possibly be a perfect 5 out 5 and there 4.6 I feel is quite fair as they nearly 60 years old and well over 5000 reviews. I have seen 4.8 at best for certain restaurants that did not even deserve it my point to make this simple based on our day and age we are all human as well bottom line if any restaurant deserves a PERFECT 5 STAR REVIEW it's this ICONIC ESTABLISHMENT also to this day they have never ever changed exactly the same as 60 years ago. People today just look to criticize everything today just to nag like as if you have eaten better and especially bashing this place lol it does not get better of a overall steak house than this. They maybe overall best in NORTH AMERICA PERIOD I believe they are without a doubt hands down.

A few years ago, my friends took me to Montreal for my bachelor party, knowing a great steak dinner was exactly what I needed. The Gibbys cut was perfectly tender and packed with flavor, complemented by a smooth, well-paired wine. The company made the experience even more memorable. Writing this after retrieving my lost wallet from a professional team who placed it in their safe. Absolutely made my day. The food? Delicious and fresh, unlimited pickles and bread, pallet cleanser between courses. The decor? Cannot be beaten dining in a many hundreds year old establishment with exposed wood everywhere, silver cutlery and just a great atmosphere with impeccable service too. The drinks? Off the charts delicious. I can’t wait to go back and eat pickles and about 4 old fashioneds at the bar

Beautiful restaurant with a unique atmosphere, like an elegant tavern, with its old beams and walls. I can get a big noisy when busy. Service was top notch from our server. They even took a Polaroid photo of us, when they learned it was my birthday. Food wise, the wedge salad with blue cheese dressing is excellent. We were a bit disappointed by the Monte Carlo potato, it felt a bit "old" and wasn't as tasty as you might imagine. The beef wellington was excellent, I'll definitely re-order that in a future visit. The ribeye let us down.. The cook was fine, but it wasn't as tasty as I would have liked. For desserts, we had the crème brûlée, it was so so, the cream wasn't perfectly smooth, it was a bit grainy. Overall, we still had a great night, and Gibbys serves solid food in a unique atmosphere

Great dinner, came from Ontario and was served by Jason. Jason made sure our group had everything we needed while providing such enjoyable service. Would 10/10 recommend to friends and family. Jason was the excellent couldn’t have asked for a better server

I went there for lunch with my friends. The food was delicious! But the service was on the slower side. I feel like for a Friday lunch time, they were a bit understaffed. But the atmosphere and the food were absolutely delicious.

I had heard a lot about this place and I finally made a visit this weekend. It was a good experience. The location is nice right beside the water and the food was amazing. The people were also nice. Our server was very friendly and kind and made good suggestions.
