Students of Jonquière Program Renewable Energy Technologies and energetic performance has recently inaugurated a home wind turbine at the Marchand restaurant in St-Bruno, Lac St-Jean. The electricity produced from wind power will serve information kiosk and a portion of the exterior lighting.
The turbine will be used as a testbed and will be used for educational and experimental for the Cégep.
Since the restaurant has a new environmentally oriented and sustainable, in addition to having a strong wind, the site was chosen in front of several others in the region.
The restaurant was destroyed by fire in 2008 and the following year, the owners had rebuilt. The public can have a meal there since 1935.
