Even if the last few months have not been easy for restaurateurs and the year 2022 begins with an obligation to keep dining rooms closed, business people have not hesitated for a moment and have likewise launched their restaurant projects. Here is a summary of the openings made at the end of 2021 and those planned for 2022.
First, there was this new restaurant opened in the Marriott Château Champlain hotel, in the heart of Montreal and near the Bell Centre, home of the Canadiens and the scene of several major shows year-round. The Lloyd therefore offers a new choice for people going to the well-known downtown amphitheater or those finishing their shopping and offers a menu featuring the Quebec terroir in a modern and warm decor. It is still possible to enjoy a grilled octopus, salmon with hazelnuts, duck breast, flank steak or a decadent burger.
Also in Montréal, a completely different type of restaurant has also opened its doors. A bit of fast food and fried food this time, while the Freakin' Fried Chicken offers comfort food and small bites like mozzarella cheese sticks and mac'n'cheese croquettes. Rumor has it the fried chicken burger is worth the trip on its own. However, we give a lower rating for the name of the business. Too Anglo to have a storefront in Quebec!
Starting in March, when you leave Montreal for a visit to Estrie, you can stop in Granby to discover the new branch of the Grande Gueule canteen. It offers a canteen menu, as its name suggests, but also keto poutine with celeriac and an excellent BBQ sauce. Remember that the first branch has existed since 2018 in Saint-Alphonse-de-Granby. A delivery service will be offered.
Another expansion will take place in this area, very close to Saint-Césaire, over the next few days with the arrival of a new branch of the Buffalo Bill Wings chain. The house specialty is of course the chicken wings. We still find poutines, burgers and submarines. Already, a dozen restaurants of the American chain are open in the greater Montreal area.
We continue our route on Highway 10, heading east, to Magog. From there, let's go on the main street to the brand new restaurant Alex'Clusif. This new cuisine is in fact found in the former premises of La Table Alain Roger, the latter having sold to his chef Alexandre Provencher and the latter renaming the place. Provencher had been employed by Mr. Roger since 2014 and he is finally realizing a dream of owning his own restaurant. He was supported by the former owner and aims for continuity while wanting, in the months to come, to add a boreal side to the menu, that is to say to be able to highlight the little-known products that come from the forests.
Finally, let's move to Centre-du-Québec, more precisely to Bécancour, where a restaurant-pub project is underway in the former Caisse populaire in the Sainte-Gertrude sector. La Chevauchée restaurant will offer a restaurant atmosphere during the week but will turn into a pub on weekends. However, at all times, the restaurant will offer a place of choice for families, one of the few establishments in the region to do so. Moreover, a games room will be reserved for them. And it's not the ideas that the two owners of the restaurant are lacking. They want to set up a terrace worthy of the name for the summer and why not offer a fenced playground for the little ones?
To all of you, restoenligne.com wishes you good luck!
