Reserve your place on the terrace now!

Reserve your place on the terrace now!

Here it is, it is done, it is decided, settled and announced! The terraces can now open everywhere from Friday! We therefore invite you to reserve your table now! But be careful, there are rules to follow.
It is important to remember that the dining rooms are not open - you have to wait until you reach the yellow zone. For the moment, these are only the outdoor terraces of the restaurants. At the same time, it will be the end of the curfew throughout Quebec.
However, remember that if you want an establishment located in the red and orange zone, only two adults from two different addresses or occupants of the same residence can share a table. In the yellow zone, several occupants from two different addresses may meet.
Thus, with only the terraces opening, the resilient restaurateurs are certainly very happy to be able to serve customers again but indicate that they are far from profitability. All the same, with this gradual deconfinement towards a summer of freedom in Quebec, the owners remain positive to be able to find customers also in the dining room.
On the other hand, some restaurateurs are still reluctant to open only their terrace. Indeed, some prefer to wait until they can also open the dining room at the same time. They can't imagine accepting reservations for a Friday night, for example, but receiving very last minute cancellations due to the weather ... since not all terraces are covered.
There is also, and always, the issue of hiring staff. The hunt for employees is off to a good start across Quebec and promises to be difficult according to several experts, given that offers are posted everywhere.
After a year and more of closure, several former employees have simply decided to reorient their careers and are no longer available. Restaurant owners need to find a workforce with less experience and train them quickly.
Yes, this news is good. Yes, it will be nice to meet again on a terrace.
But we hope you can regain your seat at your once favorite restaurant and that the experience will be like before.
