Quick delivery: new CEO, new TV series and new legal battle

This edition of your Quick Delivery is pretty tough! We will introduce you to the new leader of Restaurants Canada, we will discover together the new reality show on the restaurant industry and we will reveal some details on the legal injunction of Stratos against Salvatoré.

If you don't mind, let's start with the news about the appointment of Christian Buhagiar as President and CEO of Restaurants Canada, replacing Roy Little, who has retired. The association, which represents more than 30,000 restaurateurs, food service chains and even suppliers across the country, is dedicated to harnessing the potential of the restaurant industry through member programs, research , advocacy, resources and events.

The experienced CEO has worked extensively with for-profit organizations, corporations, academic and government programs. Aware of the issues related mainly to the catering sector since March 2020 due to the pandemic, Mr. Buhagiar wishes to pave the way for a sustainable and long-term revival of this industry essential to the culture and economy of the country. country.

Let's continue with the arrival on television of a new show that puts future restaurant managers in the spotlight, who are not necessarily aspiring chefs! The program "Le Restaurant" has been broadcast on the Zeste channel for about two weeks and is co-hosted by Hélène Bourgeois-Leclerc and chef Vincent Dion-Lavallée. This off-the-beaten-track culinary competition involves 12 future restaurateurs who must complete challenges judged by real customers in order to win $50,000 to open their own restaurant.

Finally, Stratos Pizzéria launched a lawsuit against Pizzeria Salvatoré because of a telephone number that was a little too identical to their taste. More precisely, it is an originating application for an interlocutory and permanent injunction summoning the defense to change the telephone number of its branch on boulevard Jean-XXIII in Trois-Rivières. Both phone numbers end with the same four digits. Stratos believes that the risk of confusion among consumers is great while Salvatoré defends himself by saying that he receives very few orders by phone, the majority of customers now ordering online via the application. How will this story end?
