MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE unveils its gastronomic program: Savoring our northernness

MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE, presented in collaboration with Scotiabank, is pleased to unveil its gourmet programming, presented by Scotia Wealth Management. Having always been keen to showcase Quebec culinary talent, the festival is delighted to be able to once again hold its gastronomic component in restaurants and hotels in the metropolis.
From February 17 to 27, Montreal will become more than ever the epicenter of tableware, thanks to an abundance of delicious activities! Both the chefs and the artisans are very anxious to reconnect with gourmets and to delight the taste buds with their creations, which will be declined around the theme, Savoring our nordicity.
On the menu for MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE this year:
In order to better explore this theme, it was obvious to reserve a place of honor for indigenous gastronomy and its chefs; so Lysanne O’Bomsawin, Rich Francis, Sheila Flaherty, Norma Condo, Joseph Shawana, Sean Sherman, Maxime Lizotte and Shawn Adler, and the Nk’Mip winery will honor us to be in the game. This component will be fortunate to have Marie-Ève ??Bordeleau, Commissioner for Relations with Indigenous Peoples for the City of Montreal, as spokesperson.
GOOD TABLES AIR FRANCE
A real space for meetings, discoveries, sharing and exchanges, the cuisine promotes the transmission of heritage, initiation into traditions and the opening up of culinary horizons. It is in this spirit that the Bonnes Tables Air France pair up chefs, winegrowers and producers from here and elsewhere to jointly concoct a menu in their image.
Note that the festival will welcome international chefs Rémy Havetz, Charles Coulombeau, Pam Yung, Bo Bech and Michelin-starred chefs, Julien Royer and Andy Doubrava, Toronto chef Nick Liu, as well as Quebec chefs Stéphane Modat, Martin Gagné and Dominic The beautiful. The winegrowers Harald Thiel (Hidden Bench), Mark Haisma, Fabienne and Gilles Robin will also be at the rendezvous.
DUVET & GASTRONOMY
A real success last year, the Bed & Breakfast packages are back! The concept is as comforting as it is delicious: thanks to associations between hoteliers and restaurateurs, festival-goers can treat themselves to a unique gastronomic experience in the comfort of their room or in the hotel restaurant if they prefer. About ten hoteliers await you, including:
AUBERGE DU VIEUX-PORT X GASPAR | BOXOTEL | DOUBLE TREE BY HILTON | HOTEL 10 | DELTA HOTEL | HÔTEL MARRIOTT CHÂTEAU CHAMPLAIN | MONVILLE HOTEL | HOTEL NELLIGAN | HOTEL PLACE D'ARMES | HOTEL ZERO1 | WILLIAM GRAY HOTEL | THE HOLY SULPICE
In addition, the festival is offering something new this year: the MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE Experience package. This includes two nights (Double Tree by Hilton or Hôtel Monville), gourmet meals and the Pierre Lapointe concert (February 18 at 8 p.m. at the Théâtre Maisonneuve). Montreal has never been so welcoming!
TASTET GOURMET TOURS
Crisscrossing Montreal and its good addresses according to themes chosen by the team of a must-see website, this is the plan behind the Tastet Gourmet Tours. This year, festival-goers will be able to enjoy itineraries featuring: France, Italy, real wine, sake, Japan and the Middle East. So many taste journeys in the city of a thousand… flavors!
THE GOURMET DISTRICT
The Gourmet District, in collaboration with Place des Arts, will also be back to satisfy the curiosity of epicureans through meetings, workshops, demos and other tasty activities. Full details will be released in February.
OTHER NEW
Stay tuned, because the festival has other surprises on its slate, including the From film to table activity with Studio Ghibli: a unique collaboration between MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE, the Japanese festival Yatai MTL and the Cinéma du Parc . The concept: during the festival, the cinema will screen six Studio Ghibli films and a dozen Japanese restaurants in Montreal will add to their menu an iconic dish from one of these feature films.
NEW PARTNER
The festival team happily welcomes Scotiabank. This new partner becomes the collaborator of MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE and the exclusive presenter of its gastronomic section which will celebrate the excellence and the diversity of local cuisine.
"Convinced that the artistic and business communities can mutually elevate and enrich each other through contact with one another, Scotiabank places the arts and culture at the heart of its community involvement in Quebec. Our partnership with MONTREAL EN LUMIÈRE allows us to support an event that greatly contributes to the cultural and economic vitality of Montreal during the winter. We are also proud to partner with the pro gastronomic grammar that puts forward a great diversity of chefs who will encourage cultural exchanges, "said Geneviève Brouillard, Senior Vice-President, Quebec and Eastern Ontario Region.
"MONTREAL EN LUMIÈRE offers shows with varied musical styles, a gastronomic component that once again makes your mouth water, as well as a renewed outdoor site where skating will be in the spotlight. During this 23rd edition, we would like to invite Montrealers and all regions of Quebec to come and celebrate winter in Montreal. "
- Jacques Primeau, general manager
