Fast delivery: Géraldine, Alma and holiday meals to bring

In this new edition of Fast Delivery, discover the name of the winning restaurant in the Aliments du Québec competition, the carte blanche menu of the Alma restaurant in Outremont and some meal ideas to bring for the holiday season.

First, it was the restaurant Le Géraldine in Saint-Eustache which won the Aliments du Québec au menu restaurateur prize during the 85th anniversary gala of the Association Restauration Québec. The chef-owner, Olivier Robillard, and his team have been praised for their gourmet experience highlighting seasonal hyperlocal cuisine, in collaboration with local producers.
Robillard created a culinary laboratory to test new techniques and promote local ingredients in its menu.

Two other establishments were also distinguished: the Microbrasserie Le Presbytère for its exceptional role in educating customers about Quebec products and the restaurant Le Hatley du Manoir Hovey for its innovation and creativity with regional products.

The evaluation criteria included the proportion of local products on the menu, the emphasis on the menu and the restaurant's involvement in promoting local products.

Then, the Alma restaurant, located in Outremont, stands out with its carte blanche menu and its homemade tortillas, made from nixtamalized corn using an ancient method from pre-Columbian America. Chef Juan Lopez Luna, recently named in the category of best chef at the Lauriers gala, offers a gastronomic experience combining Mexican and Mediterranean flavors.

The carte blanche menu, offered from $109 per person, offers a complete tasting of the restaurant's specialties, while a five-course menu is available at $79 per person. The wine list, developed by sommelier Lindsay Brennan, offers an impressive selection of Catalan and Spanish wines.

Finally, several restaurants and catering services offer gourmet menus for the holidays, offering a quality culinary experience with family or friends. Here are some examples :

Menu extra restaurant, run by chef Francis Blais, presents a Christmas feast featuring sarcophagus partridge, accompanied by mashed potatoes, beet salad and sticky toffee cake, priced at $130 for two people.

La bête à pain offers its holiday classics, including a generous tourtière, a seafood gratin, a cassoulet and a truffle gratin dauphinois, as well as logs such as the Royale, the Nutcracker and the exotic Cheesecake.

The Le Château Frontenac hotel offers the “Le Château à la maison” service, nothing less, with Christmas menus including turkey, beef Wellington and lamb crown, suitable for intimate meals or large tables, from $200.

Tanière3, a new Relais & Châteaux member, offers a gastronomic experience with a game pie, a complete Christmas menu for two or four people including canapes, starters and beef Wellington, from $195.

The La Femme à Marriage et Cie catering service offers a holiday menu for four people with choices of proteins, accompanied by traditional side dishes, for $175.

The Maison ODDO patisserie offers Christmas logs, fruit cake, biscuits and savory dishes, such as festive aperitif brioche and salmon gravlax flake with dill.

Good discovery!
