First, the Mont Tacos restaurant chain opened a new branch in Terrebonne just a few weeks ago, offering a variety of French tacos with a distinctive cheese sauce. The tacos are more like burritos than regular tacos. There are thousands of possible combinations to customize tacos according to individual preferences. The menu includes six signature tacos as well as signature bowls, giving customers a variety of options.
Secondly, the Arsenal & Co Distillery opened its restaurant on September 22, part of a mega distillery project in Quebec. The project will also include a production plant, a shop and a roof terrace, which will come later. The restaurant's decor is grand and spectacular, with imposing light fixtures, high ceilings, gold curtains and a multi-level mezzanine. The restaurant's menu is varied, ranging from smoked meats to Italian pizzas to Korean dishes.
The distillery will focus on producing brown spirits, particularly rum, on a large scale, while producing multiple varieties of hard spirits on a small scale for its boutique. The first bottles from the distillery are expected to be released in late 2023, and the entire building is expected to be open in spring 2024. The project required nearly $10 million in investment and is expected to employ around a hundred people once fully operational.
Finally, during the Michelin Guide ceremony in Toronto, two restaurants, Kappo Sato and Restaurant 20 Victoria, received a star. No restaurant in the Queen City received three stars this year. However, Sushi Masaki Saito retained its two stars. The Michelin Guide now emphasizes environmentally sustainable cuisine, awarding the green star to some establishments, including Frilu and White Lily Diner in the Greater Toronto Area. Four restaurants, BB's, Sunny's Chinese, Tiflisi and White Lily Diner, were recognized with the Bibs Gourmands distinction for offering excellent cuisine at affordable prices. Other restaurants were also recognized in different categories.
