Fast delivery: Foodtastic acquisition, free pizza and foreign cuisine

This edition of Delivery promises to be busy! Indeed, we will look at this new acquisition of Foodtastic, on the Dominos chain which offers free pizzas to students and on the new “exotic” restaurants which are emerging in Saguenay.

First, Canadian restaurant franchisor Foodtastic has reached an agreement to acquire Noodlebox, once again expanding its presence in the quick-service restaurant segment. This acquisition is part of Foodtastic's commitment to providing exceptional culinary experiences to its customers. Noodlebox is recognized as a leading quick-service restaurant brand, with 46 locations open and 50 more in development. Foodtastic expects to generate approximately $1 billion in sales in the North American system in the coming year, with a network of more than 1,200 restaurants, including Noodlebox, as well as other brands such as Freshii, Quesada, Second Cup and many others.

Second, Domino's, a fast food company, launched a new promotion in the United States, offering the equivalent of $1 million in free pizza to students who are starting to pay off their student loans. To enter, people can get a code from the company's website and the offer is good until the $1 million limit is reached. This initiative aims to support American students as student loan repayments have resumed.

Finally, the diversity of foreign cuisine is becoming increasingly popular in Quebec, including in Chicoutimi, where an African restaurant recently opened. Foreign food has become a common element of consumption in Quebec, whether in restaurants or specialized grocery stores. The Internet and social networks have played a role in opening Quebecers to new international flavors. Local entrepreneurs have also opened restaurants offering typical cuisine, thus promoting cultural openness. The increase in the number of African students at UQAC has also contributed to the local culinary offering, with several African grocery stores and restaurants in Chicoutimi. Culinary diversity has become the norm, offering a wide range of choices for lovers of foreign cuisine.
