Police visit restaurants

As the long Easter weekend draws to a close, police officers across Quebec had received instructions from the Quebec government and public security asking them to pay particular attention to compliance with sanitary measures in public areas. restaurants where dining rooms are open.
The police are called upon to first visit establishments where sanitary rules have been more or less respected in the past and which are the subject of citizen denunciations. According to their judgment, the patrollers must apply the regulations and take action when necessary.
During their visit, the authorities must ensure that the distance between the tables, required at two meters or more, the wearing of masks by customers when they move inside the restaurant, and the reservation book are respected. completed by the restaurateur and his process of verifying client IDs.
At the same time, law enforcement could transfer certain files to the CNESST, MAPAQ and even the RACJ if other shortcomings were noticed.
It is not mentioned whether this government request also applies to the gyms, which have been in the headlines in recent days due to a major outbreak.
In fact, at least two restaurants in Quebec have been forced to close their doors on a preventive basis due to an outbreak among their employees. This is the case with the Atelier and the Portofino in Old Quebec.
The owners have used this "bad" publicity to remind people of the importance of being vigilant against this virus.
However, they confirm that they follow all health measures to the letter and very strictly. Even CNESST inspectors gave them a perfect score before an asymptomatic employee infected other employees.
Fortunately, no customers were infected after visiting these two restaurants, while the cases were not yet known.
