An amazing time, even though we had to wait for a while before (an hour and a half because we were without a reservation and a party of 7), our server Tony was absolutely amazing, very helpful with dietary restrictions and knew how to make us have fun and enjoy our meal!
Reviews / Ratings for Yokato Yokabai Ramen
Kinda let down. The broth is pretty damn good. Thick and really flavorful. The chashu was also great and had a nice sweetness. Thin noodles and egg were alright, didn't impress me. Rest of the experience wasn't great. I sat at the counter and as the waiter used the beer tap a ton of fruit flies swarmed up and landed all over glasses and the counter. I obviously moved down the bar to a different stool right away but the same swarm kept flying up every time waiter washed a glass or poured beer. Pretty gross and would hate to get stuck there during a busy time. I had to flag a waiter for everything except the paper ordering. Papers were turned away from my stool so I didn't even see them at first and there was no explanation anywhere in English or French. I'm sure they were busy but like, after waiting for awhile I was just gonna leave. Yeah kinda disappointed and wouldn't go back.
Delicious Ramen, friendly service, arrive in advance, it's always busy
Amazing food and vegan options
Amazing tonkatsu ramen. Rich creamy broth. Absolutely amazing.
What a treat this place was. Easy system. Simply walk in and add your name to the iPad and they'll text you when your table is ready. Took about 40 minutes for a table of 4. We sat at the bar and it was a cool experience. I got the spicy chicken karaage which blew my hair back it was so good. For the ramen I played it safe with Tonkotsu broth and the pork shoulder and it was lovely. Awesome experience.
By far and away the best Ramen in Montreal. Service and atmosphere are incredible. Also, the furthest from pretentious. Feel free to show up in shorts and a t-shirt. Prices are very reasonable. Worst thing about the restaurant is the 2 hour wait to get in.
Wicked meal! Cozy spot! No highchairs fyi!
Loved it! Bit of a wait, but oh so worth it. Broth is complex and full of depth. Nice portion and cut of pork. No nonsense service and fair pricing for the high quality of the food. Will definitely be back!
Overall food experience 6.5/10 Ordered karage tokoyaki and grilled squid for starters, tonkotsu ramen main. Starters are pretty good. Grilled squid came immediately and cold. I assume a cancelled order for someone else -1.5. Ramen was really bad , noodles carried no flavour. Broth had no depth, egg was just a soft boiled egg. Pork shoulder not belly so no flavour whatsoever. -2 bad service would add another -1 but not adding that to this review.
Best ramen in the city !!!
I came here for the $10 special with a friend. The bowl had plenty of cabbage and bean sprouts, which balanced the rich, fatty broth.
Best ramen in Montreal
On the second visit nobody bothered to ask if we are ready to order. I needed to ask for an attention eventually. Then the order was mixed up a bit. This will not stop me going there again.
The ramen here is really good – rich, flavourful, and honestly tastes just like the bowls I’ve had in Japan. The service is friendly and attentive, and the waiters are knowledgeable about the menu and happy to explain the different sakés and wines. Overall, a great spot for authentic ramen in Montreal.
Unfortunately, we were disappointed dining here. I got the pork broth ramen which lacked depth and flavour. My friend got the sesame broth ramen with chicken and her sesame broth was extremely thick, to the point where it was difficult to sip and did not feel like a broth at all. Pieces of her chicken were also, unfortunately, raw. Overall the experience was not a positive one :(
Best ramen I've ever had, and the service was really above and beyond. It's a popular spot, but it's bigger than it looks online so you can seat a group if you get there right at opening.
Great food and really good costumer service, the food comes fast even though the room and tables are a bit cramped.
I came to the 10th anniversary event and got the secret ramen special. Personally I didn't like it. It was heavy and the flavour was reliant on the pork fat. I will try again with the regular menu but for a Michelin star restaurant I was expecting something unique.
Since we didn’t want to wait three hours we decided to order take out. We waited 30min for it and when we got home, we opened the box and there was no broth in it. We were really disappointed by that…
Came at 5h30pm, ate at 8h45pm. Waited more than 3 hours just for the food being meh. (Broth too salty, noodles undercook, meat hard to chew or mostly fat). Their ramen are not consistent, my friends bowl had more meat while I had more cabbage. Honestly, overhyped and overprice for ramen. How was it considers Michelin star?
Can't book a table in advance. You have to physically go there and wait 2h30. Absolutely no respect for my time and money.
Servings are so cheap for what it really is. Pork was like 95% fat, broth was too salty and the entire dish was so plain. Couldn't believe it. Doesn't even taste good. All hype.
Very good restaurant! The best ramen I ever had!
Yummyyyyyy !!! But can we get rid of that ledge at the bar???
