Ok tasty
Reviews / Ratings for Yokato Yokabai Ramen
Love the atmosphere, the kitchen is mostly open allowing you to watch everything being prepared and cooked. Delicious flavors, and wonderful customer service.
I had the sukiyaki special ramen for lunch and my boyfriend had the classic tonkatsu. We could not recommend it more. This spot is the only one in the city where I have ever experienced an atmosphere akin to an authentic Japanese ramenya. Totally deserves its Michelin mention !
You can walk in and get ramen, but you might have to queue and wait for about an hour. Alternatively, you can pre-book a time slot for the Izakaya menu (Japanese tapas. KEEP IN MIND: no ramen option!). We didn’t want to wait, so we went with the tapas option, and we definitely didn’t regret it! We ordered seven dishes (you can see them in the attached photos) and one pint of Asahi beer. It came to around $150, which we thought was quite reasonable. The tapas were amazing, full of real umami flavor! The staff was super friendly and helpful. I think we were served by Zakary, thank you so much!
Went with my friend for her birthday last Sunday! The staff was amazing, best service that I had in a while!
Went at 6:30 on a Tuesday and there was no wait for a table for 3. Food was delicious and fun to choose different options. We got the edemame and spicy karage which were great additions to three bowls of ramen. Ultimately a great time with friends.
Okay nice
Have eaten much better ramen elsewhere. This is water downed, not very rich in taste. I think the hype is about the hang out spot and not the actual food which is very average. Service was friendly and fast.
Honestly horrible restaurant. We only waited 15 minutes to get seated which was great (we arrived at 9pm), but as we were walking we noticed that there were plenty of open seats already… so we waited for no reason. Paid $88 per person. The tuna hamachi from Ichigo Ichie was soooo good, the elderflower drink was amazing as well. The karagee was good but needed more sauce. Now onto the ramen, we got the pork and vegetarian and they were both SO BAD. For a place that’s “Michelin” it barely had any flavor, the vegetarian one genuinely tasted like water. Really genuinely so disappointing because we read such amazing reviews. The service was okay. Would NOT come back.
This used to be a great place food wise. I think it is just ok at best nowadays based on testing takoyaki, karaage and ramen. Not Michelin worthy for sure.
Amazing Ramen! Very tasty! Everyone loved the ramen soups , we also ordered the pork sidedish which was good, but less unanimous. Atmosphere was very cosy and interesting … we felt like the time spent there in that space, we were transported in different world than Montreal… Line Up is quite busy, but the SMS-based waitlist approach is pretty useful and works well!
An amazimg ramen that you must try when in Montreal! The service is very nice and fast, however you may need to wait a bit before outside. They have a self system where you will get am message when your table is available so you can also walk around while waiting. The price is a bit high but the food quality definetely matches with it.
Great food. Very welcoming and acommodating staff. We'll return. PS: noon time is really busy, count on 15-20 minutes wait time if party greater than 2. The wait is worthed, no doubts! The photo is for chicken ramen with thick noodles. And a couple of add-ons.
worst ramen I’ve ever had, very bland and without any flavour. Pork was not tender and Takoyaki was also the worst I have ever tasted, extremely overpriced for a very disgusting bland meal. Staff was also rude, specifically host, did not explain or provide any information/service
I had the vegetarian broth, thin noodles (fresh), vegetables (comes with tofu), less salty, more green onion, whole egg, seaweed with a cup of tea. It was great and the portion was perfect ! So fresh tasting. It is a bit warm rather than hot so drinking tea with it gives an extra heat boost. The place is usually busy so I got there right when it opened. They seated me in a nice wooden bench area and I felt really comfortable listening to the music and chilling out. The waiter was cool, helpful and polite. I’d come back to try other options
Waiting period is long. Waiter attitude was very unwelcoming. Appetizer was nice. Food was below average (not sure why they have Michelin guide). Tables were very uncomfortable. Temperature of the restaurant was too cold. Also very expensive for what you getting. Not recommend
Extremely small place that gets very loud very quickly. The food was good, but it became tiring as you kept eating as it was very heavy and one note. The staff was extremely rude, pressuring us to finish and leave, and were obviously speaking about us behind our backs. They could have simply told us the waitlist was long or that there was a time limit, we would have understood, instead of making us feel rushed. Overall, not the worst experience, but I wouldn’t go back with friends.
Best ramen in town! Authentic place and recipe deliciously fresh ingredients - incontournable !
Best Tonkotsu ramen I ever had in Canada. The broth was absolutely amazing.
The best karaage I've ever tasted.
I had a great food experience here! There are no reservations so when you arrive you add your name to the list and get a text in about 25 minutes when your table is ready. I ordered vegetable toppings and added chicken for $4, which was totally worth it. The portion was generous, the flavors were delicious, and the sides especially the pickled radish were excellent. The only downside was sitting near the door, where it felt a bit cold and cramped. Still, the ramen was amazing and the service was very attentive. Highly recommend!
Delicious Ramen! One of the best I've had. Took one star off because the service was slow- took about 45 minutes for the ramen to be served, and it wasn't served hot enough, one of the sides I ordered for the soup (fried garlic ) arrived half way through eating the dish.
Incredible ramen - best I've had since Japan.
I haven't eaten anything so delicious since I went to Ichiraku Ramen.
After trying many ramen restaurant in the city, I can say this is hands down the best ramen in Montreal, like ridiculously good. The tonkotsu is my personal favorite, but they’re honestly all so incredible. It’s definitely a MUST in Mtl.
