Vieux Port Steakhouse is a restaurant that has been around for a while - I can see why. It’s got that classic steakhouse decor - dark, warm, with wood accents. We came on a Wednesday evening and so it was pretty quiet. The restaurant has two floors so the customer capacity is quite large. They had a table d’hote special which included either a drink or entree and then your main course - there were around 5-6 to choose from. My colleague had the steak frites which was served with a sauce over the steak and quite a few fries. I had the filet mignon table d’hote with a Caesar salad. I upgraded the side mashed potatoes to a wild rice and added a mushroom sauce. We were both too full for dessert but their dessert menu looked quite good - and I’m sure they were ! Definitely recommend checking out this place if you’re in the old port.

Had a very well presented dinner in old Montreal. The rustic atmosphere perfectly matches the cuisine. The service was top notch and the food to match. Steak was perfectly prepared to order. Accompaniments were carrots, broccoli, and mashed potatoes. I would definitely come back again and look forward to it.

I had one of the worst dinner in a long time , the waiter showed up one time , asked for water (never got it ), ordered escargot came out dry (looks like it been heated for long time ) , ordered a steak medium ( was way over cooked , dry and most importantly cold ) ,for the price they charge for that steak ….. , I don’t recommend anyone to try it

Food and service was great. We arrived around 7pm and got the last table on the the main floor- it looked crowded, but after seating the atmosphere was pleasant.

Simon was an exceptional waiter and the experience was fantastic. He was very accommodating and made our time here unforgettable. Very friendly and attentive. Would definitely comeback!

Amaizing service. Our server, Joe entertained us with a few tricks up his sleeve. He was very entertaining and very nice.The food was immaculate. The atmosphere was incredible with a very good scenery around us.

We enjoyed a beautiful meal here while visiting Old Montreal. The food was amazing, as was the atmosphere. Unfortunately, the service was not. Our waiter was friendly, however, he didn’t attend to our group in a manner one would expect in an up-scale steakhouse. Our first course plates were still on the table when our main entrees arrived and he didn’t return to see if we were enjoying our steaks or if we needed anything. My husband ordered shrimp as an additional side, but he forgot them so they came after his steak arrived. There was no check in for drink and wine refills either. So despite enjoying a great meal, the mediocre service made the experience disappointing.
