Really nice service, cool atmosphere, beautiful design, and a warm welcome. The waiter was attentive and the food came out quickly. The focaccia was very good, with a great texture, although slightly too salty. The fried oyster mushrooms were also excellent. The downside is that the restaurant is extremely noisy and the tables are very tight, so it was hard to talk comfortably. The mains were more mixed. The steak was very tender and tasty, but tiny for the price and came with a huge pile of completely unsalted fries. The bolognese was overly concentrated and salty, while the duck was cooked perfectly but lacked flavor. The staff were genuinely amazing, but for the price and the hype, the food itself felt pretty average.

I won’t be going back. My girlfriend and I arrived at 5:35 p.m. for our 5:45 p.m. reservation. We were the first guests to arrive, and the restaurant was essentially empty at the time. We received a warm welcome and were offered a table, but it wasn’t the one we preferred. I politely asked if we could be seated at a table by the window. We were told that those tables were being reserved because they were expecting groups of four to six people then those 2 chairs tables will eventually come together, so we accepted a table on the back terrace. However, as we were leaving just before 7:00 p.m., we noticed a couple being seated at the exact same window table I had originally requested. I understand that restaurants need to manage their reservations and seating arrangements, but in this situation, the explanation we were given simply didn’t make sense. It left us feeling that we could have been accommodated, especially since the restaurant was empty when we arrived. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad impression, and for that reason, I won’t be returning.

Great experience sitting at the chef’s table. Everyone was incredibly friendly and the service was excellent. Every dish was beautifully prepared, creative, and full of thoughtful details. Very happy with everything.

Truly a lovely experience. My Fiancé and I went for a nice meal, which we don’t often do. My fiancé has some allergies making some of the options difficult for her to eat. Instead of it being an embarrassing experience, the restaurant was extremely helpful and supportive, and really helped ensure we had a lovely evening despite our challenges. I truly wanted to cry with how grateful I was for their support. One of the best meals I’ve had, and lovely people.

Good but overpriced. Of the 4 main courses offered we didn’t see any that appealed so ordered 4 modestly sized appetizers for two of us plus a glass of wine each and the bill was $175.

A simply outstanding experience! Was lucky enough to score the Chef’s Counter so had front row seats to watch and interact with Chef and his incredible crew. Highlights were the beef croquettes (which Chef explained the 4 day process to prepare and comped us some extra!), the steak frites, the duck (I could drink the sauce) and the chocolate and lemon curd desserts. The staff was attentive and engaging throughout (Chef even noticed I dropped my napkin and left the pass to replace mine). It was a special treat to watch the kitchen crew execute the dinner service with such precision, care and cleanliness. This was a dinner experience I will never forget and am already looking forward to returning. Bravissimo!

We had an outstanding dinner at Tuck Shop and would happily return. We had an 8:30 reservation and took a cab from our hotel rather than deal with parking in the busy neighbourhood, which worked out very well. From the moment we arrived, what really distinguished Tuck Shop was the service. I honestly don't remember ever experiencing more attentive service in a restaurant. We were ordering wine by the glass, and almost as soon as we finished a glass, someone was there to ask if we would like another. That may sound like a small thing, but anyone who has spent half a meal trying to flag down a server for another glass of wine will appreciate just how good the service was. Our waitress, Marie-Camille, was exceptional — extremely friendly, attentive and competent. She is exactly what you hope for in a great restaurant server. The menu is fairly limited, particularly when it comes to the number of main courses, but the food we had was excellent. My wife is Portuguese and knows her fish, and she said the swordfish was the best she had ever eaten. My beef dish was also very good. There was one very minor hiccup when my wife's wine glass was cleared before she had quite finished it. When she mentioned it, they immediately offered to replace the wine. We declined, but the way the staff handled it actually added to the evening. She later had a complimentary Grand Marnier, and the gentleman who had cleared the glass offered to join us for a complimentary shot. It was that kind of place — professional, but also genuinely warm and friendly. The service continued right to the end. When we were leaving, we needed a cab back to our hotel. Thomas took care of it and actually stayed outside on the street with us until we were able to get one. Tuck Shop is busy and consequently a little noisy, and the menu isn't extensive, but neither detracted much from what was an outstanding evening. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was lively, and the service was truly exceptional. Highly recommended. We would absolutely go back.

Outstanding food and possibly the best service in Montreal right now. I can’t stress enough how attentive and efficient the service was. We have been coming here for the last 15 years but it had been a few years since our last visit and let me say we will certainly be back soon. Every single dish was on point and the atmosphere was warm and cozy. I can’t believe we let this place fall off our radar for so long. Shoutout to our server Liam thank you.

Outstanding food I’ve never had food as good. Every single staff member stopped and greeted us as we entered and the same on exit. Outstanding service from the moment we entered to the moment we left. No detail left untouched. Very good.

Everything about this meal was perfect. We really love every bite. The service was really excellent and the staff seemed very knowledgeable. They seemed to really care how you felt about the food and that feels really good. The surprising stand out for us was the lemon tart - honestly probably my new favourite dessert. Would highly recommend!

Tuck Shop absolutely lived up to the hype. The entire team was attentive without ever being intrusive, anticipating needs before we had to ask while still giving us plenty of space to enjoy the evening. Everyone we interacted with was genuinely warm, knowledgeable, and welcoming, making the experience feel relaxed rather than formal. An absolute pleasure It’s easy to see why this restaurant has earned such a loyal following. From the first bite to the last, every dish reflected care, precision, and confidence in the kitchen. The atmosphere is lively and intimate, making it equally suited for a special occasion or simply a great night out. Montreal has no shortage of excellent restaurants, but Tuck Shop stands out by excelling in every category: outstanding food, flawless execution, and hospitality that makes you want to come back. This was one of the highlights of our trip, and it’s a place I’ll enthusiastically recommend to anyone visiting the city. An easy five stars!!

This was my second time dining at Tuck Shop, and once again they did not disappoint! The food quality is outstanding..everything tasted fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can really tell they care about the ingredients and every detail that goes into each dish. The service was just as impressive. The staff was warm, attentive, and made us feel so welcome from the moment we walked in. Even my 7-year-old son absolutely loved his meal and the staff, which says a lot about their good vibes! It's not always easy finding a restaurant that both adults and kids genuinely enjoy, but Tuck Shop delivered. Definitely one of those places I'll keep coming back to. Highly recommend! 👏🏾🍽️

The food and service here easily earned 5 stars. This was by far one of the best customer service experiences we have encountered. They went completely above and beyond by setting up a TV on the back patio just so we and the other patrons could watch the Canediens vs. Hurricanes (NHL) final. The owner and staff watch it with us, making our Montreal trip unforgettable!! We will definitely be back
