Way too expensive for what you get. They immediately apply an 18% tip on the receipt and they’ll charge an additional 15% for groups >4 people which is insane… The waiter didn’t give a 10% discount for paying cash either. Cost without any drinks was $54.

Visited Sushiuma with friends and everything came out quickly. The staff were polite and checked on us regularly. Great value for the price.

Thank you for your feedback. Our staff works hard to take care of many guests every day and we receive a lot of positive comments about their service. If there was a specific interaction that made you feel this way, we would be happy to learn more, as general statements don’t always reflect the full situation.

Service is very slow and it felt like they forgot half our orders every time. Food quality is below average even for that price range.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry if the service felt slow during your visit. Our kitchen prepares sushi fresh after each order rather than using pre-made items, which can sometimes take a little longer, especially during busy periods. Freshness and quality are very important to us. We truly appreciate your comment and will continue working with our team to improve the overall experience for our guests.

Really impressed with the quality at Sushiuma. The tempura was crispy and light, and the sashimi tasted very fresh. The restaurant atmosphere is modern and comfortable.

I came here for the lunch buffet, which is a decent value - all you can eat lunch including tax and tip is under $40 CAD. I tried about a dozen dishes, as the portions are small and delivered quickly. However, I honestly did not like a single thing on the menu aside from the seaweed salad and miso soup, which are hard to mess up. Everything else was just bland. You get what you pay for.

Sushiuma is one of the better all-you-can-eat sushi spots I’ve tried. The rolls were flavorful and not overloaded with rice. Fast service and friendly staff.

Ordered a platter off Uber Eats. Relied on the photo as there was no description of what the rolls would contain. Several rolls had American cheese on top. Not a fan. Other rolls were mainly veggies without much fish. Was not what was pictured.

Thank you for your feedback. The platter ordered through Uber Eats is a preset combination. The ingredients of each roll — including those that contain cheese — are clearly listed in the item description. Nothing is substituted or hidden. If a roll contains cheese, it is disclosed. As for the comment that rolls were “mainly veggies without much fish,” the platter includes a mix of maki, specialty rolls, and combination items as specified. Portions are standardized and prepared consistently. What is pictured represents the style and presentation, but individual roll composition is described in writing to avoid confusion. Delivery orders are prepared according to the platform’s listing. If expectations were based on assumptions rather than the listed ingredients, that does not indicate an error in preparation. We stand by the accuracy of our menu descriptions and the consistency of our portions. If there is a specific item you believe was incorrect, please provide the order number so it can be reviewed.

As you can see on my profile, i dont leave many reviews. I only leave reviews that i think are necessary. Unfortunately had a bad experience. We were seated without even being asked if we knew how to order or if we wanted anything to drink. We started by ordering 2 miso soups, 2 orders of salmon sashimi, 2 orders of japanese mashed potatoes and one smoked salmon rice ball. The raw fish was mushy and did not feel fresh. Felt rather frozen. The mashed potatoes were really bad tasting and the rice ball were drenched in an extremely sweet sauce and not the good kind of sweet sauce. nothing to say about the miso, pretty classic, cant go wrong with that. After having 2 bites of the raw salmon i was done. Mind you half out bowls of soup were still full and the mashed potatoes were barely eaten. I asked if i could pay for what we ate and leave, the manager said i would have to pay for one persons “all you can eat” price, which is 42.99$. While i was talking to, trying to negotiate, the manager kept looking at my husband as if what i was saying didnt matter. I told him i would be able to pay 10$ which i feel is more than enough for 2 miso. He kept saying thats not how it works and that i should pay the 42.99$ and that he should’ve made me pay the 2 meals and not just one. I refuse to believe anything there is fresh. Ive had a few “all you can eat sushi” in montreal. Some overpriced, some not bad, but never have i had this type of not fresh food. I will keep going back where i usually go as this was beyong disappointing. We ended up paying the 10$ and left. Mind you, we didnt finish any of the food on the plates. We paid to eat nothing and to avoid a potential scene. Very disappointed at this place, wont go back unfortunately.

Thank you for your detailed comment. We will address the facts clearly. Our restaurant operates under a clearly stated all-you-can-eat policy. Once an order is placed under this menu, the set price applies. This is standard practice across Montreal and clearly explained before ordering. It is not a “pay per bite” system, nor is it negotiable after food has been prepared. You placed multiple items including sashimi, side dishes, and additional plates. Food was prepared immediately and served fresh. Claiming afterward that you should only pay $10 for two miso soups — while multiple dishes had already been prepared and partially consumed — is simply not how this service model works. Regarding freshness: our salmon is delivered from certified suppliers and stored under strict MAPAQ food safety regulations. Fish texture preferences can be subjective, but implying that nothing in the restaurant is fresh is an extreme and unfounded statement. We have no other reports from that service period supporting this claim. As for your interaction with management: pricing policy was calmly explained. Maintaining eye contact with multiple guests during a discussion is not “disrespect.” Suggesting otherwise appears to be an attempt to dramatize a pricing disagreement. Ultimately, despite the policy allowing us to charge the full price for the meals ordered, you were permitted to leave after paying only $10 — significantly below the cost of food prepared. This was an act of accommodation, not obligation. We stand by our food quality, our clearly stated policies, and our team. Disappointment over a pricing policy does not equate to misconduct.

Me and my friend went for an all-you-can-eat sushi experience. Some of the fish we ate was rotten, and the cashier forced us to tip after we clicked no tip twice and would not let us walk out.

We take allegations of “rotten fish” and “forced tipping” extremely seriously. First, all of our fish is delivered fresh daily from certified suppliers and stored under strict MAPAQ food safety regulations. We have temperature logs and supplier invoices to support this. Serving spoiled fish would immediately shut down our business — this claim is simply false. Second, tipping in Quebec is 100% voluntary. Our payment terminal does not allow staff to override a customer’s selection. No one is ever “forced” to tip. If there was confusion using the machine, staff may have assisted, but we do not detain or pressure customers. Any accusation that we “would not let you walk out” is extremely serious and inaccurate. If you genuinely experienced an issue, we encourage you to contact management directly with: • The date and time of your visit • Your receipt • Details of what was allegedly spoiled We review all transactions and security footage when serious claims are made. We stand behind our food quality and our team.

Got food poisoning from their too good to go box. Do not recommend(btw this part of the review was from 2 years ago. ) Update: I ordered from them again as they changed their restaurant name and I didn’t know and once again got food poisoning lol. This is the only Japanese establishment where I’ve gotten sick from. Clearly their fish isn’t as fresh as they claim it is. I understand that it’s an all you can eat buffet but there still should be some health measures being taken care of in a restaurant where plenty of people eat everyday,

Ordered from doordash a few rolls. Especially disappointed by the kamikaze salmon roll. Came very blend without the spicy mayo and to make it worst, it was at least a one day old roll. Rice was very hard and the fish wasn’t fresh with a weird aftertaste. ~$12 for that roll. It’s unacceptable to serve that to customers. This isn’t toogoodtogo. I won’t be ordering again.
