This isn't a restaurant. Sushi Nishinokaze is a 2-hour museum experience and college semester combined that just so happens to serve the best, most luxurious, highest standards of food in all of Montreal-- It's not even close. They are a league of their own. We're talking about a combination of the Bill Russell Celtics, the Jordan Bulls, the Shaq & Kobe Lakers, the Duncan-Ginobili-Parker-Kawhi Spurs, the Steph-Dray-Klay Warriors... all-in-one. It's disrespectful to call it a restaurant. It's history that nonchalantly makes you taste the best snapshots of a distant ethnocentric time in this city. Hidden in plain sight The ultimate silent luxury Easily defeat Bottega Veneta, Lanificio Colombo, or anything made of Loro Piana fabrics, from Kid Cashmere to Vicuna... An honor to have been here twice. Mandatory to experience it many more times for years to come. To those who appreciate people that are obsessed with their craft, who sleep 2 hours per night and put in almost every single available time they have, poured into their work and passions....... This is the place where you can go and look, and see the closest thing to a reflection of yourself. And you get to eat it. Have a taste of yourself. That's how I feel. These are all the words that pour out of me as I reflect back to last night. Thank you.

A once-in-a-lifetime culinary experience...
10/10 on everything. The best sushi experience I've ever had. The staff was superb, the fish was fresh and the explanation of each course was fantastic.
Sushi Nishinokaze is THE up and coming sushi omakase in Montreal. As an omakase experience it is much less showy than Okeya, and the quality of fish and service isn't lacking, and in my humble opinion it is a superior value ratio. The omakase menu progressed gracefully with a jazz backdrop through different pieces of sushi, from harder/thougher textures through softer textures. The sake pairing matches well from floral to more savory. The fish is impeccably prepared, perfectly aged, and savory, each piece has its place in the lineup, highlighting the best of Japanese and Canadian seasonality. The rice is well seasoned and cooked, you can feel each individual grain of rice, and they aren't mushed together. The wine list is short but impressive. Overall I would say Sushi Nishinokaze takes the top sushi restaurant in Montreal both in terms of service and sushi and I look forward to visiting again. 2026 edit: After a few more visits. I can confidentely say that Sushi Nishinozake is far and beyond the best sushi in Montreal, and it is an absolute must visit if you are a fan of sushi.
We’re very lucky to have this in Montreal. Fantastic experience of the same level as Michelin-starred Omakase we’ve had in Japan. Incredibly knowledgeable about Sake and the ingredients. A+ for the ceramics, design and atmosphere too.
Stellar experience on both visits. The only sushi outside Japan that rivals authentic edomae.
It was an amazing overall experience. I can’t praise the staff, chef, food, service and atmosphere enough. Highly recommended for a memorable dinner!
Hands down, one of the best sushi omakase experience I've ever had. The tuna (3 types of cuts) and the barracuda were my personal favorite. I also cannot forget the egg custard course. Such a warm and happy dish. Their sake pairing is excellent (shout-out to David for taking care of the pairing and accomodating some of my requests). The experience was unforgettable, the chef and rest of the staff was a delight to chat with in between courses and everyone seemed very passionate about their craft and service.
A true gem. Incredible experience in Canada, secretly wish they were still in Toronto! Crazy quality and sourcing but the chef and team is so humble and knowledgeable.
True meditation, cozy fine dining, quiet music, carefully curated ceramic pieces, simple ingredients and true artistic expression, just simply well balanced, perfect combination! My favorite Omakase in Montreal! Definitely worth Michelin stars! ⭐️ Hidden gem founded! 🫶🏻❄️✨ 9/10! ✨
