Nico THE BEST WAITER!!!!
What guests say about RH Rooftop Restaurant at RH Montreal
RH Rooftop Restaurant at RH Montreal is especially appreciated for its spectacular decor, chic atmosphere, and terrace, making it a good choice for a special outing or brunch. Several reviews also highlight attentive service and dishes that can be very good, but the portions and prices are often seen as imbalanced. On the downside, negative comments often mention the wait, uneven service, table restrictions, and food quality that can sometimes be disappointing. In short, people go there mainly for the experience and the setting, more than for consistent value for money.

Nico Best waiter. My friends and I came on a Monday night we had really good service from him
Beautiful setting. Friendly service.
I took my husband here for his birthday dinner. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and the rooftop terrace is a great feature. Unfortunately, the overall experience did not live up to the setting or the prices. The service was disappointing. The staff seemed young and inexperienced, lacking the attention to detail and professionalism expected at a restaurant of this caliber. We ordered six oysters but were served twelve. While we agreed to keep them, they still appeared on the bill and had to be corrected. The seating arrangements also made little sense. As a party of two, we were seated at a small, cramped table, while another party of two nearby was given a booth designed for six guests. Throughout the evening, the restaurant felt more focused on maximizing capacity than creating a comfortable dining experience. The atmosphere was further diminished by the lack of any apparent dress code. Guests arrived dressed as though they were heading to a beach club rather than an upscale restaurant, which took away from what should have been a refined dining experience. After dinner, we hoped to finish the half bottle of wine remaining on our table while enjoying the rooftop terrace. We were told this was not permitted due to licensing restrictions. While I understand regulations must be followed, it seems like a missed opportunity given that the terrace is one of the restaurant’s main attractions. The restaurant is visually stunning, but the service, seating management, and overall attention to the guest experience fall well short of the standard the venue appears to be aiming for.
The positive vibe embraces you the moment you walk in, but unfortunately the food, presentation, and pricing are a different story. when you order meat or fish at a restaurant, it usually comes with a proper side dish. Here, the protein arrives in the middle of the plate and a single slice of potato. If you want vegetables or any thing side, you have to pay extra. Worse than that, the staff seemed poorly trained. They spilled coffee on the floor and on my foot, then cleaned up with a service cloth that we clean our mouth. Great atmosphere, but disappointing food, poor value for money, and questionable service standards. Awful!!!
Beautiful place to celebrate my wife birthday!!
RH Rooftop at Royalmount is one of the most beautiful dining experiences in Montreal. The stunning glass atrium, chandeliers, olive trees, and elegant atmosphere make it perfect for date nights, celebrations, or a luxurious brunch. While the prices are on the higher side and portions may not impress everyone, the ambiance, design, and overall experience are truly memorable
Love the Espresso cocktail and Americano.
The atmoshere might be beautiful but the food is nothing special, quite mediocre. My friend ordered the lobster salad and it looked horrible. Some lobster concoction sitting in the middle of a full head of boston lettuce. My Caesar salad with chicken was boring. You're paying these inflated prices for the venue not the food. This is Montreal, we expected better!
The restaurant itself was fantastic, but unfortunately the service completely ruined the experience for me. One of the servers (a tall older bald man) was extremely rude and unprofessional throughout the interaction. When I ordered a spritz, he sarcastically asked, “Without alcohol?” in a way that felt very judgmental and based on assumptions about my background. After I clarified that I wanted it with alcohol, he responded rudely by saying there were many types of spritz and demanding to know which one I wanted, instead of simply guiding me politely or making a recommendation. He then repeatedly claimed he couldn’t understand what I was saying, even though I was speaking clear French. The entire interaction felt disrespectful and discriminatory. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and provides better customer service training to their staff, because no customer should feel uncomfortable or looked down on while dining out.
RH Restaurant Montreal — Refined Dining with a Unique Twist ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5) RH Restaurant in Montreal is a genuinely memorable dining experience — partly for the food, partly for the setting, and partly because of how you get there. Atmosphere & Setting The ambiance is exceptional. Tucked inside the RH furniture showroom, the restaurant is accessed through the store and up by elevator — an unusual approach that actually adds to the sense of occasion. Once inside, the design aesthetic is warm, sophisticated, and unlike any restaurant space in the city. It feels curated rather than constructed. Service Attentive without being intrusive, and proactively so — staff anticipate needs rather than simply reacting to them. Professional throughout, which matches the elevated setting. Food The menu delivered across the board. We started with a fresh salad, then moved to the star of the meal: braised beef brisket with bruschetta eggs, cooked perfectly — tender, flavourful, and exactly what you want from a dish like that. Sweet potato fries on the side were a nice touch. To finish, strawberries with cream and espressos — simple, classic, and the right note to end on. Yes, it sits firmly in the premium price bracket, but the quality justifies it. Parking A genuine bonus in Montreal: direct access through the attached mall means no hunting for street parking or paying downtown rates separately. Bottom Line RH is the kind of restaurant where the experience is the point. The combination of stunning atmosphere, attentive service, a well-crafted meal, and that one-of-a-kind furniture-store-to-fine-dining journey makes it worth every franc — or rather, every Canadian dollar. I’d go back.
Probably one of the worst experience i ever had, went in a group of 9 and servers could barely hold glasses, food was mid and way overpriced, got in an argument with the “manager” because part of the group was 1 hour late when the restaurant was COMPLETELY empty, you guys are sad of a restaurant and shouldnt be open with this overpriced horrible service, would NEVER recommend to anybody
Everything was delicious 🤤 especially the lamb 🐑 chops and the cookies. Service was great and the restaurant was so beautiful too. Everything was perfect
Really beautiful spot with an amazing terrace and atmosphere. The service was great and the overall experience felt very upscale. That said, I do agree with many of the other reviews — while the presentation is excellent, the food quality itself didn’t quite match the premium pricing.
The restaurant is spacious, drenched in beautiful natural light, with a breathtaking view of the sky. Unfortunately, the food didn’t match the setting. I can’t justify $48 for a lobster salad that was essentially a head of Boston lettuce with a scattering of frozen, rubbery lobster on top. Barely seasoned, too. Then $20 for what amounted to a tiny cone of sweet potato fries. And the Campari Spritz? More ice than actual cocktail. A gorgeous space with luxury prices, but the experience felt painfully underwhelming. Stop pretending Montreal is L.A. or Paris. Because it isn’t.
Celebrated a birthday here and left disappointed. The manager’s attitude was condescending and entirely out of place in a service environment. The lead server performed well, but food runners were disorganized. A medium-rare steak came out well done — a basic execution failure. The pricing suggests a premium experience; the reality doesn’t come close. Will not be back. Pretty decor and furniture, maybe stick to that.
food is burnt, drinks are mid, service is mid
This was the best place I’ve tried all year, will be coming back
I was invited for a birthday lunch. From the moment we sat down, our server Josh was very attentive and provided excellent service. I had the sea bass and it was on par with other reputable restaurants. The desserts were the perfect ending to the meal. The ambiance is warm and welcoming. Highly recommend.
Excellent service thank you very much Jonah
I love this place and the food is amazing! The only thing I would say is that the service isn't great. Not because the waiter I had the last time was mean or anything, but he forgot a lot of things, utensils, cups, he would come back a couple of times to ask us if we had any allergies when we've mentioned it a few times... but other than that I love the food and the ambiance! The iced latte always hits the spot!!!
For such a beautiful restaurent you have a very terrible attitude hostess as an employee. I was there yesterday at 2:30pm and she has a hijab/headscarf. And it wasn't only with us , we litterally overheard a man coming up to her to ask her a question and she didn't say anything , to the point where the man had to ask her "do you not speak ?" and he walked way . She told us we had to wait 45min and that she will contact us by phone for our table , she never did . It was 4:00pm no call nothing from her and we ended up eating at Evas royalmount.
Great brunch, amazing service 100% Recommend
The place is beautiful I loved it and the food was amazing but the wait time for the food was not good but the staff were nice which made it up
first time here and while fancy setting, breakfast was extremely underwhelming and very expensive for its quality and even for its visual appeal. moreover, zero flexibility in menu to accommodate restrictions and once finished eating the 2 sunny side up eggs on dish for 28 dollars with 2 slices tomoatoes, was watched like a hawk by manager for enjoying our easter brunch with friends - seems even though not packed at capacity, waiter and manager were expecting us to be gone asap. a first and a last due to harried experience and poor quality food.
