I’ve tried a lot of restaurants, but Reuben’s Deli & Steakhouse is honestly on another level. The quality here is consistently outstanding, everything tastes incredibly fresh, and you can tell they don’t cut corners. What I love most is that it never disappoints. Every visit feels just as good as the first one, which is rare. I always tell myself I’ll try something new, but the dishes I’ve already had are so good that I keep going back to them, which is kind of ironic, because I’m sure the rest of the menu is just as amazing. If you’re looking for a place where you can count on great food every single time, this is it.

Enjoyed our Ruben and smoked meat (Charlie) sandwiches. Fries were good! This amount of food was filling for us- glad we got the smaller size. No wait for our late lunch/early dinner.

It was our first time trying Ruben’s and hands down can say they have the best smoked meat sandwiches in Montreal (yes, even over Schwartz). All other food and dessert that we ordered was excellent. Most important the service that we received from Vivian was outstanding and memorable :)

C'est delicieux! Reuben's is a renowned place for Montréal smoked meat sandwiches. Whenever I'm in town, I'd like to get the 1 lb Big Bang sandwich and walking through McGill University on rue Peel. Après le repas, faites de l'exercice en montant le Mont Royal.

You MUST sit down and enjoy the amazing flavours that Reuben’s has to offer. We had the short rib Mac and cheese, sliders and Cajun jambalaya. Even if you are picky with beef, I promise you the best beef you have consumed. Truly a highlight of our trip!

Next up on my smoked meat tour was Reuben's. Not to be confused with the other restaurant with the same name (I've been told they are not affiliated), I decided to try the big bang sandwich, which was the biggest sandwich they had. Overall on taste I'd say it was decent. I liked that the fries were more of the shoestring variety as opposed to the darker cut fries that a lot of the deli restaurants seem to be serving. Because there is so much meat, it made it kind of impossible to eat it as a sandwich, which is okay as I really just needed a big protein portion. For me the price was a little too steep for my liking compared to some of the other restaurants I had during my visit. The meal came out to close to $50 after tax (and that's for takeout).

This is Montreal’s premier spot for salmon, paired with amazing fries, mushrooms, and chicken. Even the mocktails are delicious! While busy days can feel rushed, the service remains solid. With excellent portions and high-quality food, it is highly recommended.

Great interior. Service was fantastic. I even got a taste tester of the meat. But my sandwich was underwhelming, and even worse was the poutine. Try sticking to the og smoked meat sandwich or something else entirely.

I had probably the best sandwich of my life here, would travel back to Montreal just to have it again! Love the vibe of this place, pricey, but worth it. My cocktail was fantastic as well, highly recommend.

Omgoodness the food is so delicious and our server Vince was one of the best waiters we ever had!!! We were here visiting from nova scotia and this did not disappoint! Definitely will be back!

Had an absolutely wonderful dining experience here! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations. The food was exceptional - fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented. Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor. The portions were generous and well worth the price. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained, and despite being busy, we didn't feel rushed. The dessert was the perfect ending to our meal. We'll definitely be returning soon and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal and excellent service. Five stars!

I accidentally got on the train going the wrong direction tonight.Ended up at Reuben’s instead.Ordered the smoked meat, medium fat.Upgraded the fries to poutine and added smoked meat on top.Pickles on the side.The meat was warm, smoky, and generous without falling apart.The gravy soaked into the fries just enough.The pickle wasn’t a side dish, it was the reset button.What impressed me most was the service.No interruptions. No forced check-ins.Napkins appeared exactly when needed.It felt less like dinner and more like a small, well-timed gift from the city.10/10 would happily get on the wrong train again.TonightGot on the wrong train.Found the right sandwich.Smoked meat, medium fat.Poutine upgraded.Pickles doing quiet hero work.No interruptions.Just smoke, salt, and timing.Montreal at its best.
