I was on a group trip here in Quebec, and one day me and a group of friends decided to come here for lunch, it wasn’t busy at all, however many from our group came here which is why it was packed. I understand this location is understaffed, however it is no reason to give terrible service and lie to us. We waited 30 minutes to have our order taken, and as a group we needed to be at a place by 1:10pm (we arrived at about 12pm). We were getting iffy about whether or not we would be getting our food on time, and other people from our group tried to leave, to get food somewhere else, and quicker. However our server PROMISED we would get our food on time and we could eat. We order after awhile getting more nervous by the minute however our server reassured us we would have time to eat, and it came to 1pm. We still did not receive our food and it was about a 7 minutes walk to the place we needed to go to, my group and I were panicking, and when we finally received our money, we needed to quickly pay with cash and run to the spot we needed to be at. We were very late and I am very disappointed. I had gotten a poutine and no fork to go, it was raining and I had no time to eat, and the water got in my to go container so I threw it out. My food was 33$ in total which went to the trash and I went my day with lunch, and to mention, my friend didn’t even get what she ordered, but it was too late when we realized. With the service I had gotten at this location, I will remember to never come back, as I don’t even think I should’ve payed for this.
Reviews / Ratings for Restaurant Poutineville Vieux Québec
We arrived while the place was empty and didnt have our order taken for at least 30 minutes. We got our food after about an hour after having to ask the waiter where it was. On top of that, my friend was given the wrong poutine, aswell as my other buddy who got cheese put on her burger (we had mentioned she CANNOT eat cheese) the waiter was also rude, as she continuously made snide comments. I do not recommend.
One of the best and most unique poutines I’ve ever tried! The food was so good, we ended up coming back two days in a row. The server was super helpful with our choices and recommended the burger poutine. I tried the 911 poutine, but it turned out to be a bit too spicy for me (oops). Thankfully, they were incredibly kind and offered to switch it to a regular poutine sauce, which I really appreciated, my stomach definitely thanks them! On the second day, we tried the mac poutine, another burger, and a hot dog. Everything was really good overall, though the hot dog was a bit dry. Service was also very fast, with barely any wait time for our food. Overall, such a great experience. Thank you, we’ll definitely be back!
It's the Ville de Poutine, definitely! With so many options to choose from, you don't know what to expect, but it's sure to be a tasty one. So generous and delicious, with great service. You must go on your next stop in Québec.
We chose this place because of the high ratings and tried the poutine, but it wasn’t to our taste. It took about an hour to prepare the food, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy.
Had a great experience at Poutineville. The French poutine was delicious and very filling and exactly what I was hoping to try in Quebec. The interior vibe is a bit dull but the food definitely makes up for it.
Poutine was good Don't order the salad
We got a nice quiet table in the back, no line and fairly empty for 6:30 on a Saturday which was nice. There are an overwhelming number of menu options, but we got the phili cheese poutine and chicken fingers with salad. I was very happy with the chicken fingers and salad, it had cheese and lots of diced tomatoes, with onions, red pepper and regular lettuce not the cheap iceberg kind. The chicken fingers were crispy with lots of batter, just perfect to go with the salad. They came with BBQ sauce, the good dark kind, not the runny pale stuff. The poutine was okay, lots of onions but not as much meat. The diet coke was small and kind of flat. The service was great, and the food came out quick. I heard it gets much busier later at night though. I would go back for sure.
Dummy expensive, mediocre food, cold fries, gravy was too runny, cheese wouldn’t melt (food was served cold). Got the philly cheese poutine, whole thing just tasted like plain meat.
Delicious poutine 😍good service 👍
Server demands the tip forcefully.
So many poutine options it’s over whelming in a good way! We went basic and it was very good! Portions are perfect and prices were good. Service was excellent very casual.
We ate here twice throughout the course of our trip to Quebec City, and the food never disappoints. The French poutine is by far the best classic poutine flavor; we even ordered it the second time back. The Montreal was decent, not your typical poutine. The hangover cure was spicy and good. If you are going to order, the best way to go is with the classic flavors, but it is hard to go wrong here. The virgin berry mojito was good. The homemade lemonade was okay, not much flavor.
I came here during an event hosted nearby. They always say that poutine is a must try in Canada! I went at a non-peak time and I ordered takeout. However it did take awhile for our food to be made. It was a decent poutine regardless!
Tourist Scam!! Worst poutine we've ever had! Yes, there's lots of variety to choose from and you may choose dishes with many different ingredients. But the taste is just not good!! We visited this place in August 2025, it's a beautiful day and we were sitted outside which we found out at the end that it was next to their big trash collection! Disgusting!!
Our visit to this restaurant was centered around their highly praised poutine, and it certainly lived up to its reputation. The junior portion was surprisingly generous, packed with rich flavor, though slightly on the saltier side for our taste, still enjoyable nonetheless. The salad was fresh and crisp, while the burger was satisfyingly well-made. The service was lively and attentive, adding to the overall pleasant experience.
Veggie sandwich, omg! Loved the the test of grilled eggplant in-between.
Absolute horrible experience. No wait to get a table, but waited over 90 mins for our food while others who arrived after us received theirs first. We were told multiple times that our food was literally coming out when it wasn’t. We were about to walk out when a manager convinced us to stay and offered 20% off. We should have left. Food was gross. Chicken burger was a frozen patty. Chicken nachos had zero flavor on chicken. Poutine was more like Pootine because that’s what it tasted like. Save your time and your money. This place is not worthy of either. There has to be better food and service in Quebec City. Would never recommend to a friend. Would highly recommend to my enemies.
We had their breakfast poutine, and it was as good as their supper poutines... crunchy potatoes, tasty hollandaise sauce, and great for sharing. Delicious smoothies, too. Just missing a "crise cardiaque" size portion :P
was -25 outside we had a outside dome heat was perfect inside beautiful setting meals were spot on hot 5$ vallet parking waiter wil was perfect english and french 2 steaks ribeye and filet mignon with trimmings .excellent wine birthday desert for my wife under $200 canadien well well worth it mille merci !
The poutine was nice and the service was great. Great place to eat poutine!
Got a poutine and a burger (with fries). The fries that came with the burger were the worst fries I’ve ever paid for. I didn’t even eat that stuff, it was gross. Burnt and soggy. Poutine was fine, though, probably because the gravy covered those issues. But yes, I’m sorry to say this but I’ll not come back and wouldn’t recommend people to go there. I went there on Dec 28th, around 3PM
Stick to the poutine as its excellent with fresh cut fries, very flavorful gravy and nice sized cheese curds. Pulled pork and smoked meat are average. Very casual decor
Not sure if it was because we chose the vegetarian options, but all the items we ordered were subpar in taste. Not the highly rated experience we were expecting.
Vegetarian poutines were not great at all...their veg burger was not at all spicy or flavorful... unfortunately did not enjoy their food although everyone was super nice
