Had an excellent meal last Friday night. All the dishes were delicious and the wine pairings were perfectly chosen. Service from Gabriel was also excellent and the whole staff was warm and helpful in explaining things and making it a fun evening. This is exactly the type of dining experience that I enjoy these days. Creative and well thought out dishes that are not reproducible at home for the average home cook. The team really did a fantastic job overall and I am looking forward to coming back this summer to experience the summer menu. Shout out to Julien(apologies if I got the name wrong) who came over to explain the mocktails for the non-alcoholic pairing menu that I might try out next time. I won’t get too into the exact dishes since the menu will be different a few months from now. Just know that your menu will be original and also, local. We have excellent ingredients to offer and it’s nice that the staff takes advantage of them. Will definitely be back

we were super impressed by this spot!! it has one michelin star and we had to book 3 months in advance. it was $95 per person for 5 courses (+ extra for truffle). very interesting flavours and unique combinations that i'd never had before. you can tell they put a lot of thought into their menu!! would def go back as they switch up their menu seasonally

Came here for the first time for an anniversary celebration, and I am more than happy with the experience. The restaurant prepares dishes with rich flavors brought out from locally sourced high quality ingredients. Most ingredients except for the fish come from Quebec. The food was cooked perfectly the cocktails are exceptional. We would come back for the drinks alone. While the culinary experience was excellent, it did feel like each dish had the same buttery and rich undertone. There was not as much variety when it came to flavor. The foie gras, which was extra, is an exception to that statement. The finishers were excellent, and I was pleasantly surprised to bite into a dessert that was not too sweet. Service was very good. Warm and hospitable staff who made sure everything was good. Overall, very well deserving of its michelin star status. At its price point, I think it is an experience worth having!

Everything from start to finish was absolutely flawless. The food was exceptional—beautifully crafted, incredibly flavorful, and truly memorable. Not choosing from a menu made the experience even more exciting; each course was a delightful surprise that awakened the palate with unexpected and delicious flavors. The service was impeccable—professional yet warm and welcoming. This was a refined, immersive culinary journey that exceeded expectations and checked every box of what fine dining should be.

I was invited to go to my first ever Michelin star restaurant. Everything was very well flavoured and presented. Extremely small portions but because there were 5 courses, you definitely don’t leave hungry. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. We also got an extra complimentary dessert! The service is a slow pace giving you time to really savour the food and enjoy the evening. If you are into high end cuisine then i think this is a place to go to!

Mastard, under the direction of chef Simon Mathys, is one of the only Michelin-starred restaurants in Montreal and easily offers one of the most impressive tasting menus in the city. This was my second visit, and the $90 carte blanche menu once again proved to be exceptional value for the level of technique, sourcing, and thought behind each course, with an optional wine pairing that is genuinely well-curated and purposeful rather than an afterthought. The cooking is modern, precise, and deeply ingredient-driven. Expect impeccably cooked seafood, razor-clean sauces, and dishes that balance richness, acidity, and texture with confidence. Vegetables are treated with as much care as proteins, often serving as the foundation of a dish rather than a garnish. There’s a strong sense of seasonality and Quebec terroir throughout, filtered through a contemporary, restrained lens—nothing feels busy or overworked. What stands out most is restraint. Flavors are bold but controlled, plating is intentional without being precious, and every dish feels complete. This is a kitchen where technique clearly serves flavor, not ego. I’ve eaten at over 20 Michelin-starred restaurants around the world, and Mastard offers some of the best value I’ve encountered. Thoughtful, ambitious cooking at a price point that feels almost out of place for the quality delivered. Bravo.
