Very nice evening, mostly served by the knowledgeable Sarah. We started off with some very tasty tapas as starters and each finished with a plate. Even if there were no vegetarian plates on the menu, the chef prepared a super tasty plate mixing textures, cooked and raw ingredients masterfully. We camped the meal by taking one of each of the desserts and all three were tops. I will come back and recommend you support a great local spot.

I don’t think I can overstate just how exceptional Chez Limbo is. Easily the best restaurant I’ve eaten at during my time in Canada, and pretty much my idea of the perfect restaurant. The space is warm, inviting and effortlessly sophisticated, the service charming and personable, and the food just extraordinary. The guinea fowl liver parfait was beautifully smooth, the greengage plum and cucumber salad deliciously fresh, and the veal brains perfectly crisp outside and soft within. The halibut was delicate, elegant and cooked to perfection. Every sauce was so good I found myself mopping up the last drops with the generously supplied bread. And dessert! The gâteau mollet with maple raspberries was an absolute revelation. As my waiter described it, the texture was like the custardy interior of French toast. Just heavenly. I know the menu changes seasonally, but the quality of the cooking, generosity and hospitality speak for themselves. Not a single disappointing moment. I’m walking back to the metro wishing I could do it all over again. I’d return to Montréal for this restaurant alone. Absolutely loved it.

Chef’s menu had 10 minuscule services of which 8/10 were shared plates with few bites for each. Felt meagre. Flavour wise, few services were fine but most were letdowns. Menu felt all over the place with no real flavour balance and truly didn’t do justice to Michelin recommendation. Don’t recommend it, won’t be back

I meant to make this review a while back when I ate, better late than never! It was a wonderful experience, I went and ate alone and was treated very well. I had a great view of the kitchen and loved hearing the back and forths between staff. This place has their stuff dialed in to a T, food excellent, service on point and the atmosphere is cool as heck

Where to begin? Our evening at Limbo was one of the most memorable meals we’ve had in a while; this is food and service so good it brings people closer together. Jack and team were generous, good spirited, and accommodating, and I can’t wait to go back.

I had a lovely solo dinner at Limbo. The staff were fantastic from start to finish, taking the time to patiently walk me through the menu and share thoughtful recommendations. The pork with raw shrimp was easily the star dish, beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The other two plates I tried were pleasant enough, though they didn't quite leave the same impression. Overall, wonderful hospitality and a great, welcoming atmosphere for dining solo. They offer half sizes for solo diners so you can pick a few plates to try. The menu changes daily so I'd be interested in coming back at another time where it's more meat or seafood forward. I'm not a veggie person, so others who are will undoubtedly enjoy the food more than I did.

I feel Limbo has one of the best price point for value tasting menus in the fine dining scene in Montreal. Everything including the desserts were delicious. Cozy atmosphere with slightly geeky decor and great food, they make it too easy for you to want to return!

Impeccable experience and food. I celebrated my birthday here and I’m glad the meal was beyond my expectations. We went with the chef’s choice which already came with enough food for each of us. We then ordered the paté on top of that because we saw the table next to us with it. They kindly gave us extra homemade sourdough to go with the paté. My favourite dish was the lobster with peaches and almond butter sauce. The cod dish with chanterelles was amazing as well. Followed by the paté with apple butter. The desserts weren’t as impressive as the main dishes sadly. Both were quite sweet and lacked a balance in other flavours. However, they have seasonal menus which means I will be back to celebrate other occasions here as well!

We wanted to love it so bad, thus had high expectations. We ordered the tasting meal and the first half of it was utterly disappointing. The dishes weren’t well balanced. The standout was the scallops and the fish in the end. Service was friendly but there’s definitely better food in Montreal for the price point. But honestly, the bread is very very good so kudos for that.

This place is very popular among the young crowd (20s to 30s) so it’s recommended to make reservations. This restaurant has a nice and simple decor. Even though the waiters are dressed in a very casual way, service is wonderful. They know their stuff well and are very friendly. Foodwise, I was a bit disappointed. They put a lot of care in the presentation. However, the taste isn’t there. Most of the appetizers were a bit too acidic and their main dishes were so-so. Nothing exceptional.

An unforgettable dining experience from start to finish. Every dish was beautifully prepared, but the wine pairing recommendations from our server truly elevated the meal - they were absolutely perfect! 10/10 from start to finish! Chef Shewchuk has an awesome team and everything we got was delicious. We did the tasting menu and highly recommend it. The bar tender recommended us each amazing wine pairings by the glass to go along with what was coming and we left full & happy. The host Jack and the staff took care of us and we thoroughly enjoyed our date night out. Kudos to everyone at Limbo! Will be back for sure.

Great food service, and atmosphere. Small room. Cool people, dressed very casual (staff and guests). GREAT food. The chefs are obviously French trained but this is more creative than typical French food, call it Montréal style.

Limbo, which has taken over the former Marconi location, came highly recommended—and I was curious to see what they would do with a space I already had a soft spot for. Having been to Salle Climatisé a few times, I had a pretty good idea of what to expect, and Limbo delivered a similar style while feeling just a step above. The food was excellent across the board, with quality ingredients, thoughtful presentation, and dishes that were genuinely enjoyable without feeling overdone. The leek starter was delicious. The tartare was also very good, and the lamb may honestly be the best I’ve ever had. The room itself is busy, crowded, and noisy, so it’s not really the place for a quiet romantic dinner. But if you’re looking for great food in a lively setting, it’s definitely worth booking—just make your reservation well in advance.

Magical flavor combinations. This was a divine experience for our last night in Montréal - every dish is delicious but the sunflower seeds prepared risotto style was a standout. Cocktails also made by a genius with some really interesting twists. Will be remembering this meal (chef’s choice) for a long time to come.
