Yesterday I bought two “Phillo” shawarmas, one for myself and one for my daughter. When we got home, my daughter took one bite and immediately said she wouldn’t eat it. At first, I didn’t understand why, but after trying it myself, I was very disappointed as well. Initially, I thought the bread was an Italian-style panini, as it looked that way when the employee was preparing it. However, in reality, it tasted awful and had a rubbery texture. It was soaked with grease from the meat and vegetables, making it excessively oily. On top of that, the meat had a strange flavor—something like tarragon or even cinnamon—which completely overpowered the natural taste of the meat. I believe that adding a bit of garlic to the marinade would significantly improve the flavor. Overall, both my daughter and I were very disappointed—we spent money but got no enjoyment from the food. I would strongly recommend that management reconsider the meat recipe and use higher-quality bread.
