THE BEST dining experience I’ve had in awhile thanks to the owner Anh! We were visiting from Alberta and a group of 5 of us walked in after finding this place on a whim. Anh came up to our table and started cracking jokes and creating conversation with us. He gave suggestions on what to order, talked about his families heritage in Vietnam, how he cooks his food, makes all his condiments from scratch etc. When the food came out, he gave us an extra calamari no charge, stood table side and made us sauce mixtures from his condiments to dip our pho/meat into. He was so open and kind saying that if we didn’t like his food he would give us something else and take it off our bill. Well that didn’t happen… All the food here is SPECTACULAR. Fresh, hot, delicious. You can truly feel the love Anh puts into his food and the service he offers. I was so upset leaving home for Alberta knowing I won’t be able to eat here for awhile. But the next time I am in Montreal, I will be stopping by!

The food was very good but a little more spicy than what we're used to for vietnamese food. Portions were decent size for the price. Service was a little slow because they appeared short staff but its race weekend, so understandable. Once the order was in, we got the food pretty quick.

We would like to kindly mention that there may have been a mix-up, as there is another restaurant with a similar name on the same street. Our restaurant is located at 1765 R. Saint-Denis, on the corner of Ontario. At Phở Anh, our chicken phở is not broiled, but sous-vide and not spicy, and we do not serve it with spicy toppings by default. The chicken is prepared fresh and gently seasoned in a traditional Northern-style broth focused on clean and delicate flavors. We had excellent crispy wings (a little sweet, delicious), bun cha (incredible, smoky meat and sweet broth with crisp vegetables), and the famous four colour steamed broken rice. I would’ve normally included a picture of all this but we were hungry, it was delicious and forgot to take pictures. Will definitely be back for delicious food and kind, friendly service. Well I must say this was BEST PHO I’ve ever had. I’d like to think I’ve had a lot of pho in my life and to my surprise I’ve never had this type of authentic Pho from Hanoi. Pho will never be the same!!! Our server shared with us the history and how it takes three days to make the broth. Truly a thing of beauty!!!!!!! You may not even notice this place when you’re walking on Rue St-Denis because it’s hidden behind construction and in a basement, but trust me you must go.

I got a bowl of chicken vermicelli and it was the most bizarre chicken I’ve ever had. I’m not sure if it was badly butchered and chewy yet super tough for that reason, or if the meat itself was on its way to expiring but it was not the most pleasant experience. It also was criminally underseasoned lol

The soup is unique and "clean", the meats super tender and the homemade sauces on the table are very tasty. Nice variation to some of the more "westernized" pho in the city. The fried pork belly was a nice start to the meal as well. Ignore the renos and boarded up signs outside, go down the steps and try this spot. You will not regret it.

The food was good overall decent broth (7/10), but very mid meat (fatty/tough). The noodles are thick if you are used to the thinner ones - not a negative, just a note. They also don't provide chop suey or thai basil (update: the style pho that they serve does not usually have those condiments) but they do provide rarer condiments which is interesting (picked garlic, lemongrass sauce, etc). Their "fresh" chilis are frozen and not very spicy (they only bring one even when you ask for more). Fast service, but not very friendly (not unfriendly though). The atmosphere is nice and quiet, with good spacing in between tables.

That should not have happened. Just to clarify, our chili is imported from Vietnam and kept frozen (not fresh), which can affect the level of spiciness, but we should absolutely have provided more upon request. Regarding the style of our phở, we follow a traditional Northern (Nam Định) approach, where bean sprouts and Thai basil are not part of the dish. This is clearly noted on our menu and website, as we aim to stay true to the original style. Our broth is intentionally clean and not oily. We simmer it for up to 3 days to develop a natural depth of flavor, focusing on the essence of the broth itself rather than a strong spice-forward aroma. As for the beef belly, we prepare it sous vide to keep it well-seasoned while maintaining its texture, rather than making it overly soft. We also appreciate your comments on service and will continue working on improving the overall experience.
