Fabulous experience. There were two of us and we had the tasting menu. The chef catered it to our requests And included a few things that were not on the menu such as the roasted duck and sausage filled duck hearts. The seating is pretty intimate and can get a bit loud. Some would say it adds to the ambience.

Go in with no expectations and trust the staffs recommendations! Fantastic meal!
From the moment we arrived, the service stood out. We were greeted warmly, offered drinks and were able to watch the kitchen in action while we waited for our table. Our server, Rose was exceptional. She was knowledgeable made great recommendations and went above and beyond to coordinate with the kitchen to have a number of the dishes modified so I could try them as a vegetarian. The attention to detail really set this place apart - plates and glasses were always cleared, drinks were never left empty and the pacing between courses was spot on. Overall a polished, thoughtful and FUN experience and will definitely return next time we're in town!
Vancouver foodie here, I’ll list everything I had below with English Translations. I still dream about this meal as it’s simply the most memorable & delicious experience. Absolutely love the a casual setting with the freshest farm to table ingredients, almost feels like a home. WHAT WE ORDERED: • Biscuit Vert Radis-Parfait de Foie (Green Biscuit Radish with Foie Gras Dip) • Petoncles des Iles, Rhubarb, Buerre Noisette (Island Scallops, Rhubarb, Brown Butter) • Croque-Pentoncle, Rouille Classique (Grilled Scallop “croque” sandwich) • Agnolotti d’ortie, homard-beurre de morille (Agnolotti, Lobster, butter) • Volaille fermiere au levain pour la table, palourdes (Farmhouse Chicken in Sourdough Batter, Clams)
Vin Mon Lapin completely exceeded every expectation. We (3 people) went on April 15 at 8:15 for my birthday, and from start to finish, everything was outstanding. The service was exceptional, and Nino made the whole experience even more memorable. He was incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and had such a strong understanding of both the menu and the wine list. What impressed me most was how well he read the table and understood exactly what we needed. He gave thoughtful recommendations, accommodated my shellfish restriction perfectly, and still made sure the other two guests in my party had plenty of amazing options. The food was honestly incredible. Every dish we ordered was delicious, but our favorites were the scallop toast, the gnudi, and the lamb tartare paired with the strudel. Really, everything we had was amazing. The ambiance, the service, and the food were all just perfect. It is rare to leave a restaurant genuinely speechless, but that was exactly how I felt. Vin Mon Lapin is hands down one of the best restaurants in Montreal, and I highly recommend it. A must-try.
The food never disappoints ❤️.
Next time, I’m hoping for an earlier reservation. The only table available was at 9:30 p.m., and I was already feeling tired by the third course. That said, the food was delicious and completely worth it. The wine list is impressive, with lots of great choices. Service was excellent. Highly recommended.
We visited Vin Mon Lapin on April 7 as a party of 4. Atmosphere: Lovely restaurant with charming decor. Warm and relaxed atmosphere. Wish the candles were real, not battery powered! Service: Overall, excellent. Our main server and sommelier was wonderful - passionate, friendly, and had wonderful suggestions for wine for the table. The other servers (I believe we had 5 total?) were friendly as well, except for one - he seemed rather unhappy to be there! Food was thoughtfully brought to the table and explained, they seemed to have had the food before and genuinely enjoyed explaining every dish to us. Plates and cutlery were changed with each course. The service added positively to our overall experience. Some minor notes (as this is the #2 restaurant in Canada!): - we noticed staff taking out the garbage in view of diners - pacing of the dessert course was lost in translation. We ordered a savoury with our desserts and were told it would come first - instead, it came with all our dessert at once Food: The food was excellent. We ambitiously ordered every dish on the menu, and 3 of the desserts. We also shared two bottles of wine at the recommendation of the sommelier. The dishes were very thoughtfully coursed and well paced, we ended up having approximately 4 savoury courses. All dishes were solid, some were exceptional. The crab salad and bone marrow, linzer, mushroom, duck agnolotti, sea bass, ice cream sandwich surprise, chocolate tourte and sarrasin cake were all wonderful, the entire table raved about them all. We appreciated the use of local ingredients, as well as the beautiful presentation of each dish. Other dishes were well prepared but not to our taste. The leeks felt like a bit of a miss, but overall nothing truly failed. Our two wines, one white and one orange, paired beautifully. Overall: This restaurant is worth a stop. The reservations are hard to get, for good reason. It’s a wonderful dining experience showcasing local ingredients to their fullest. Service is excellent. We all thought that in a few more years, with ironing out of some service kinks and balancing out of some flavours, Vin Mon Lapin could be worthy of a Michelin star.
An excellent evening that exceeded already high expectations. Friendly and fun staff. Expansive wine list. Delicious food.
Ok wow. Everything about this place is a vibe. Obviously the food is next level and the wine list is something else. Could not find a single flaw in anything we ate or drank - truly exceptional. But actually what we were most pleasantly surprised by: how brilliant the service was (big thanks to Nino in particular for looking after us). The atmosphere has this warmth to it that makes you feel like a local coming back for the 50th time rather than a tourist who got lucky with a reservation. Likely the best all round dining experience I’ve had, ever - 10/10
I was thrilled to get a reservation here for my trip to Montreal. The food was so good that we were laughing at how we felt sad that our meal was coming to an end. We sat at the bar, which partially overlooks the kitchen. Our bartender basically curated our meal and wine and we just loved everything. The atmosphere is so nice. A cozy neighborhood restaurant. It truly lives up to its reputation. I would go back in a heartbeat!
Very good food and evening even for a vegetarian. They know what they're doing! Is was a very good experience.
Truly gem in little Italy. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff. Creative menu and good cocktails!
An unparalleled union of skill, care, passion and vibes. A masterpiece, chapeau.
I can't speak highly enough of this restaurant. Easily the best food I've ever had, every dish was delicious and unique. The restaurant also has a casual atmosphere that allows you to connect with the people you're dining with. The service was friendly and attentive and everyone was super helpful in explaining the dishes. I was dining with someone with a dietary restriction and they were very accomodating and helped craft us a menu we could both enjoy. The highlights for me were the carrots, leeks, and pork dishes. They also made us an incredible gluten-free cake; I've never had one this good in my life. All in all, this was the best culinary experiences I've ever had. It really lives up to the hype.
I would rate it with a few more stars , I did not have high expectations , but once all said and done , this resto is a gem in Montreal. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Best restaurant I've ever been to in Canada. They seem like they would be deeply offended if you didn't have an amazing experience. That's a list art in hospitality.
I purchased a Mon Lapin gift certificate for my parents as an anniversary gift, a place I’ve supported for years as someone who lives in the neighbourhood and continued to support during the pandemic. I received an email clearly stating the certificate would be ready for pickup anytime after 2pm. Trying to be considerate, I arrived ten minutes before opening so I wouldn’t interfere with dinner service once clients started arriving. I called to explain why I was there while standing outside, got no answer, knocked and showed the email confirming it was ready. Instead of simply handing it over, I was made to wait outside until 5pm and was met with attitude for even being there. For a restaurant currently riding the high of being named number one in Canada, the hospitality was nowhere to be found. Had this not been a gift, I would have asked for a refund. It will be the last time I set foot there. There are way too many excellent restaurants in Montreal to waste my time at an establishment that treats its customers with arrogance.
Up to expectation and even more!!!
The food and atmosphere were wonderful, the wine fantastic and the service next level. Our server, Fiona, took time to pair our dishes with absolutely delicious wines, and explained every dish on the menu. She really took the time to make our experience unforgettable, as well as all of the other staff. We had 6 dishes and each one was unique and delicious! Do yourself a favour and visit Mon Lapin!
Went there for a bachelorette dinner, but it doesn't live up to the hype, unfortunately. Food was tasty, but portions were TINY & expensive. The waitress suggested most of the food & wine. For a glass of wine + 4 tiny portions of an appetizer, we paid around $140 each. There are many places in montreal where you spend +$100 per person that are a thousand more times worth it.
The quality of the food was excellent, the service was professional and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Highly recommended.
Lives up to the expectation of a Michelin Guide restaurant. The service is impeccable and the food is adjusted to your taste without losing the essence of the menu they serve.
My partner and I had the most amazing meal here. It was my first time visiting Montréal, and I am so glad this was part of the experience. The food was phenomenal, the service was warm and exceptional, and the atmosphere was so warm and inviting.
Is this the best restaurant in Canada? Who knows. The hype even years after opening remains pretty strong. That said, there are few better representations of creative French/Quebeçois cooking in a small plates format, with a wine list this huge. Everything tastes "French" despite the many subtle nods to other cuisines, like a a scallop mousse on bread that is clearly the Canadian version of shrimp toast.
