What guests say about Mon Lapin

Mon Lapin stands out above all for the creativity of its cuisine, the quality of its ingredients, and wine pairings that are often very well chosen. Many guests describe the service as warm, attentive, and professional, with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. On the other hand, a few reviews point out small portions, high prices, and service that can sometimes be uneven or overly insistent, which may make the experience less enjoyable for some.

The food was good but for the price I was expecting more from it.

Since dining here once in 2022, the ambiance, feel, and quality of the dishes are still exceptional but even more memorable! Past desserts, including the classic Gateau Sarassin, were enjoyable and have always been part of the menu — while seasonal dishes like the half lobster dish with buckwheat sauce, accompanied by rhubarbs, and perfect rectangular chunks of fried potato intricately layered together into a whole were new, refreshing, and made the experience special! The white-painted timber roofs, walls, decor and, playful illustrations and installations highlighting the infamous rabbit the restaurant has named itself, all helped to create a whimsical, magical, and warm ambiance that makes me want to dine here . Grateful to have enjoyed a meal on the first Friday of June, and look forward to seeing how this restaurant continues to grow and become even more exceptional!

I just finished the most wonderful dinner at Mon Lapin. I was lucky enough to snag a seat at the bar as a walk in, really happy they were able to accommodate me without a reservation. The bartender, Rose, walked me through the menu and various options they had, I ended up going with their tasting menu. Rose also made great cocktails, had phenomenal wine recommendations, and was so much fun to talk to. She was a big part of why this dinner was so enjoyable. Each course was brought out and explained by staff and the pacing between courses was just right. My meal included: - Confit leeks with potato chips and smoked mussel mayo - Razor clam with spicy breadcrumbs and littleneck clam with green onions, horseradish, and parm - The iconic crispy scallop sandwich with ramp mayo - Sea bass crudo with capers, radish, shallot, microgreens, and brown butter - Ricotta dumplings/ravioli with motels and radish greens in a creamy butter sauce - Halibut in nettle cream sauce with nettle chips - Duck two ways with white and green asparagus, strawberry sauce, an herby asparagus sauce, and jus - An ice cream sandwich with almond and sesame cookies, olive oil ice cream, and fennel pollen - A fudgey chocolate cake with amaro and coffee sauce The tasting menu ended up being 9 courses for $110 CAD, a very good price in my opinion, especially considering the quality, time, and care put into each dish. There was not a single dish I disliked or thought was just okay, each one was unique and so good. Service was excellent and the cocktails and wine were delicious. I have nothing but good things to say, I've never been more pleased with a place that I went to on a whim. This was the highlight of my trip hands down. If I ever make it back to Montreal, this will be my first stop.

One of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had. Every single dish that we ordered was excellent. The scallop sandwich was life changing. The wine selection was comprehensive, unique and well priced. The service was truly superb, friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Certainly a highlight in Montreal.

I had high expectations given the ratings and the restaurant being named one of the best (if not the best in Canada). The food was great but the one thing I’ll always remember about this meal was how incredible the hospitality was. And that’s that right word, hospitality, not service, from the moment I stepped in till I left.

Exceptional meal from an exceptional team. Great chef execution of thoughtful locally sourced seasonal ingredients delivered by passionate hospitality professionals. Fiona's wine pairings were perfect and interesting from an eclectic selection of wines. Such great delivery. A must dine experience in Montréal! I will be back.

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. Excellent food. Excellent wine. I appreciated how the server brought bottles of wine over to the table to help us choose a glass. She also paired them perfectly with the food ordered. Definitely order the leeks and chicken!

We ate here on May 15 and a waiter spilled rhubarb juice on my partner but didn’t seem apologetic. It was very strange?? He justified it by saying it’s just juice with rhubarb in it but there was also butter and it was literally another table’s finished dish! The other service staff were friendly but this was a strange encounter.

Incredible meal tonight, really an amazing, creative experience. We handed the menus back to our waiter and put everything in his capable hands. He brought out and explained three unique wine options helping us pick a fantastic Bourgogne. Each course brought fresh and wild combinations of flavors, from entrees to desserts.

Was by far the most hyped restaurant I encountered when planning for my recent Montreal trip. You see all the accolades online. #2 on North American 2025 top restaurants? Oh la la! Previous #1 on Canada top 100? Oh la vache! I didn’t know what to expect walking in. You literally have your pick from all the great restaurants in the city of Montreal. Joe beef, L’Express. You name it: But- This place more than lived up to the hype, it absolutely exceeded it. Chef Laurent Dagenais made a video of where chefs eat in Montreal, and this place was his TOP pick. ABSOLUTELY ON POINT. The creativity of the food was incredible. The service was impeccable. Background music set the perfect vibe. We had such great recommendations on wine pairings. I cannot wait to eat here again! potato chip + leek + smoked mussel mayo = perfection. Croque with scallops- amazing. Sourdough chicken was probably (outside of the lobster spaghetti from Joe Beef) the top dish of our entire trip in Montreal. Be sure to snag the online reservations early because they go QUICK. Oui oui! Bon appetit baby.

Fabulous experience. There were two of us and we had the tasting menu. The chef catered it to our requests And included a few things that were not on the menu such as the roasted duck and sausage filled duck hearts. The seating is pretty intimate and can get a bit loud. Some would say it adds to the ambience.

From the moment we arrived, the service stood out. We were greeted warmly, offered drinks and were able to watch the kitchen in action while we waited for our table. Our server, Rose was exceptional. She was knowledgeable made great recommendations and went above and beyond to coordinate with the kitchen to have a number of the dishes modified so I could try them as a vegetarian. The attention to detail really set this place apart - plates and glasses were always cleared, drinks were never left empty and the pacing between courses was spot on. Overall a polished, thoughtful and FUN experience and will definitely return next time we're in town!

Vancouver foodie here, I’ll list everything I had below with English Translations. I still dream about this meal as it’s simply the most memorable & delicious experience. Absolutely love the a casual setting with the freshest farm to table ingredients, almost feels like a home. WHAT WE ORDERED: • Biscuit Vert Radis-Parfait de Foie (Green Biscuit Radish with Foie Gras Dip) • Petoncles des Iles, Rhubarb, Buerre Noisette (Island Scallops, Rhubarb, Brown Butter) • Croque-Pentoncle, Rouille Classique (Grilled Scallop “croque” sandwich) • Agnolotti d’ortie, homard-beurre de morille (Agnolotti, Lobster, butter) • Volaille fermiere au levain pour la table, palourdes (Farmhouse Chicken in Sourdough Batter, Clams)

Vin Mon Lapin completely exceeded every expectation. We (3 people) went on April 15 at 8:15 for my birthday, and from start to finish, everything was outstanding. The service was exceptional, and Nino made the whole experience even more memorable. He was incredibly attentive, knowledgeable, and had such a strong understanding of both the menu and the wine list. What impressed me most was how well he read the table and understood exactly what we needed. He gave thoughtful recommendations, accommodated my shellfish restriction perfectly, and still made sure the other two guests in my party had plenty of amazing options. The food was honestly incredible. Every dish we ordered was delicious, but our favorites were the scallop toast, the gnudi, and the lamb tartare paired with the strudel. Really, everything we had was amazing. The ambiance, the service, and the food were all just perfect. It is rare to leave a restaurant genuinely speechless, but that was exactly how I felt. Vin Mon Lapin is hands down one of the best restaurants in Montreal, and I highly recommend it. A must-try.

Next time, I’m hoping for an earlier reservation. The only table available was at 9:30 p.m., and I was already feeling tired by the third course. That said, the food was delicious and completely worth it. The wine list is impressive, with lots of great choices. Service was excellent. Highly recommended.
