For the past 5 years when passing by Mont-Laurier, I make sure to stop at the Microbrasserie (often needing to reserve in advance!). The newer chef is out of this world and surpasses most renowned restaurants in Quebec and Ontario. MDL serves both regular bar foods and exceptional dishes including tartar beef, bison and tuna, etc. Newer on the menu this year is the octopus which is spectacular (would take a full paragraph to properly describe). Octopus is a difficult dish to execute and often 90% overcooked even at prestigious establishments. The MDL is a hidden gem and has always impressed me by food quality and execution (creative plating) which shows the care into providing exceptional food and making it a fabulous culinary experience.

Delicious food, gnocchis are to die for and chicken Cajun is very very good. The brownie is divine and of course, the beer is a must.
