We came in to watch Amerucwn football and had just the best day ever. Abi is a Best Bartender of the Year 2026 nominee and favorite to win.

I came here with a friend after seeing a movie nearby. We’d been before, and McLean’s continues to be a reliable choice. The service was friendly and efficient, and the menu has exactly the kind of options you would expect from a downtown pub. What stood out, though, was how well the food was prepared. Everything we ordered was fresh, properly cooked and genuinely delicious rather than simply being standard pub fare. It has a comfortable, familiar atmosphere and works especially well for a casual meal and a drink after a movie or while you’re already downtown. Another good visit, and I’d have no hesitation coming back again.

Hi Brandon, I appreciate you taking the time to join us after your movie. I hope it was a good film! Your review was very refreshing. Thank you for that. It is striking to me how many reviews are polar opposites from one another. Recently, a review showed up in the feed accussing us of just tossing frozen pizzas in the oven (like Dr. Oetker's, I guess). We make everything from scratch, and take pride in that. In their case they had a lousy experience, and that's on me - I own it. I'm glad that your experience was much better, and it is great to hear that you'll be back. Cheers, mate. Stuart

The washroom was extremely dirty. Service is low to medium. I don't think we ever come back again

Hi Amir, I appreciate you letting me know about this. Let me apologize. It is a shame to read this. Throughout the day we should be cleaning our washrooms. When we are very busy, that's when they get to be messy. It is also when service suffers. This past week has been insanely busy and we've been caught off guard in many ways. I did not anticipate how busy we would be or I would have put on more staff. I am sorry that service suffered, both taking orders as well as tidying up the washrooms. You may never come back or not - I still want you to know that I appreciate your visit and review. Take very good care, Stuart

Just left this place. Hostess at the front seated us and gave us menus, no waitress came to see us. Despite the fact that they were walking around serving others and completely ignoring us. We left after 30 mins of waiting

KYLE IS THE BEST, HES very attentive , always making sure the women are safe and sound at his bar. If you want the best service and the safest spot in Montreal come here and find Kyle! He will not disappoint, from just chatting to beating you at pool! Always tip him 50% he deserves it, truly. ❤️

Came here on a Sunday while on vacation hoping they’d be playing some nfl football and they were! Had two beers and the samosas which were shockingly flavorful considering its a pub. Waitress had a lot of customers but was still attentive. Overall really appreciated our experience here.

Great pub in the middle of downtown. I never had to wait for a seat. A lot of people watching the screens up above. Beer is always good.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!!! We were there for 2h, we NEVER got our full food and drinks order. They brought over food that wasn’t ours and charged us because we ate it after 30 minutes of no waiter coming back to see us or bring our right order (pizza and wings that WOULD have gone in the TRASH after sitting there for 1h). I’ve never seen a restaurant who treats their customers so badly after messing up SEVERAL times. Unfortunately we weren’t the only ones because every customer was angry and had messed up orders. Don’t EVER go there. They don’t know how to treat clients and clearly don’t care about good service :/

Nez is a legend, no explanation needed. Stef is a real reason to come back as well, she's got a sixth sense for when your glass is empty, and always offers a water without you having to ask. Just this warmth that makes the night better. Go say hi to both.

This tucked away gem on Rue Peel was a definite highlight of my trip to Montreal. While I wouldn't consider this an authentic Irish pub, the important elements exist (e.g. Guinness, Kilkenny, and Jameson Triple Triple). The true standout at this bar are the bartenders. As you will see in the photos, I was warmly greeted my first visit by Sidney and Ricardo/Rico, aka 'Les Toxic Twins', haha! Rico recommended the Butter Chicken pizza, which is something that I have never seen in the USA. You cannot go wrong with this suggestion - flavorful, with just the right kick of spice. You will need a fork and knife, as the ingredients on top outweigh the tasty dough and crust. On my second visit, the fantastic bartender Greg and his wonderful support team made my last night in Montreal a night to remember. Do yourself a favor and drop on in for a cheeky pint, some excellent pub grub, and top notch service. Sliante!

Staff was amazing especially Kevin. We were lucky to find this place on our first night in Montreal. We visited many others but always made our way back to see Kevin and other staff.

Initially ok but after a while went down hill with disappearing waitress (eg. 15/20 minutes waiting to pay bill) and then seating a bunch of drunk 18 year olds next to us, howling and shouting.
