Had such a great St. Paddy’s celebration here! 🍀 We came with a table of 10 and everything was fantastic — delicious food, great drinks, and amazing service even though it was busy. The atmosphere was fun and lively, making it the perfect spot to celebrate. Can’t wait to come back! 🍻

Good Guinness, decent chicken sandwich but don't order the fish and chips. For a "English Pub" the fish was so over battered that it was raw where it was touching the fish. The waitress had stopped by the table to ask how we were enjoying our food but never looked at me, or waited for me to respond and I had to get her attention after. When explaining my disappointment, her response was "I don't eat the fish and chips because it has too much batter". Not the conversion I expected to have and not the experience I've had at any other pub I've been to. I returned more than half the dish and explained that I was not interested in a replacement, that being said I would have hoped for a discount on that item. Had they even given me $5 off I would have given a better rating. If you want to watch a game and drink a beer, stop by here and then go eat somewhere else.

Hi Christine, That wasn't pleasant for you. I am very sorry. During St-Patrick's Week we are making fish every day. It is our 2nd top selling dish. Obviously, yours was not our best. My servers, as busy as they were, should have paid better attention to you. If the situation would have been brought to my attention, it would have been handled differently. For all of that, we deserve the two stars, if not less. I apologize to you. Take good care, Stuart

As someone that is Irish, from Boston and has been to an authentic Irish pub this restaurant utterly confused me. McLeans claims to be an Irish pub but one look at the menu told me different. No Irish staples like bangers and mash, Shepard’s pie, corned beef, lamb, etc. Just average pub food. A little disappointing to eat at on St Pattys Day. On a positive note the food came out very quick and staff was friendly, had plenty of screens to watch games and met other customers and had very friendly conversations with them. Decent place to grab pub food before hockey games - just not Irish pub food

Hey Emily, Thanks for spending time at our place. On Paddy's Day, I can understand you expecting some Irish items on our menu (even corned beef). We do what we do best. Above all, we call ourselves the best hockey bar in Montreal. We love our Habs and love the amazing rivalry we have with the Bruins. I hope you found some of our city's great Irish Pubs with authentic Irish food. We have many great places. Cheers and all the best! Stuart

Ready Set Meh. Good place to grab beer but don't expect much if you're hungry. Fish and chips had very thick almoat pastry like breading. Fries were ok. Hubby had hot dog poutine. Gravy was good. Very little hot dog. Friendly service.

Hi Ann, Thanks for coming and for giving us the feedback. I am going to go an speak with our chef and he can speak to our cooks. Generally, our food is very consistent. We have been busier than normal and I suspect that our cooks had to make more fish on the fly and didn't do a great job with the batter. As for the Hot-Dog Poutine, we put two weiners cut up on there, but again. I will speak to the chef. All that being said, I apologize for you not getting the quality and value that you deserved. I take onus and accountability. I am sorry. I hope that you get a chance to come back and I can thank you for bringing everything to my attention. Cheers, Stuart

Server was so attentive. Harp beer on tap and nice and cold. Rustic decor indicates a well used and well loved facility. Nice place to have a quick pint. Centrally located to downtown.

Do not buy the wing,s.The (so called) cook poured honey from a jar.It,s getting to a point where never,never trust the sever on a take out order

Hi Ron, I am sorry that your wings were not to your liking. I don't understand your point about trusting the server. If you saw our cook pour our honey-garlic sauce from a jar, youd be correct. We buy honey buy the barrel and we make our own sauce which we put in a jug. Again, I apologize that you did not enjoy your wings. Take good care, Stuart

I want to thank McLean's for the wonderful experience! I came on the 10th of January for my birthday with my family. My dad came in earlier in the day and asked if it would be possible to reserve a spot for our large group as it was my birthday. The waitress (i forget her name now but I believe her name started with an S) was incredibly accommodating and made an exception for us despite them not usually doing that on game days. Upon arriving she was incredibly welcoming, wished me a happy birthday and made the experience a great one. The food and drinks were great, and the vibe was AMAZING! What an incredible place to spend an evening before a Habs game, and what a wonderful team of staff members that make all customers feel welcome. Thank you for making my birthday the most memorable one yet!

McLean’s is hands down one of the best bars in Montreal, and without question one of the top places in the entire city to watch sports. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere just feels right. The beer is always ice cold, consistently poured perfectly, and exactly what you want whether you’re stopping by casually or settling in for a full game night. The staff deserve special mention — they are genuinely some of the friendliest people you’ll find anywhere. Always welcoming, attentive without being overbearing, and clearly happy to be there. That positive energy really sets the tone and makes McLean’s such an easy place to relax and enjoy yourself. The environment itself is fantastic: great music playing, a lively but comfortable crowd, and a space that always feels clean and well taken care of — including the bathrooms, which are spotless (something that definitely doesn’t go unnoticed).
