We had sushi here while on a trip to Montreal, we were drawn to the restaurant by the anime theme, did not disappoint! Was cool and fun to see everything on display. The food was yummy! Our table was quite close to others, shared bench, loud/busy environment, not private table. The sweet torched sushi was amazing, only place we've found that. Would recommend trying if you're in the area!

Extremely disappointing experience at Manga Bistro in downtown Montreal. The service was poor from start to finish. We had to ask multiple times for a fork, and my friend eventually got one himself while staff were standing around talking. We also had to repeatedly ask for a sauce before someone finally brought it. When we asked questions, it felt like we were bothering the staff. To make matters worse, a server spilled brown sauce on my chair, the floor, and my sweater. Accidents happen, but there was no sincere apology and the mess was only properly cleaned after I asked twice. The biggest issue came with the bill. The payment terminal was already set to a 15% tip. When I said I didn’t want to leave a tip due to the poor service, I was told I had no choice and that the police would be called if I didn’t pay it. I paid my bill, but being pressured into tipping after such poor service was unacceptable. Two people at my table witnessed this conversation. I will not be returning

I can’t seem to fathom that a reservation booked at 7:30pm only got all our table at 8pm and they can’t listen and did a 13 reservation when I clearly stated that I wanted 16

Reservation was not honoured. Time set at 7:30 then tells us its going to be ready at 7:40, proceeds to drag it to 7:50. Also confronting us about the number of people we reserved for when we stated clearly the number. We had our friends standing next to our tables eating like WHAT? wonderful service 👍

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience at Manga Bistro was disappointing enough that I feel compelled to provide detailed feedback. Yesterday afternoon, my two friends and I arrived for a reservation for three people. Upon arrival, we waited at the front entrance for nearly ten minutes without being acknowledged or seated by any staff member. At the time, there were still many empty tables available inside the restaurant, yet some employees appeared more interested in chatting among themselves than assisting waiting customers. What was even more frustrating was that we had a reservation and were standing at the very front of the waiting line. However, when a staff member finally approached, they chose to assist customers standing behind us first. My friends and I are Asian, while the customers who were helped before us were White. This differential treatment made us feel extremely uncomfortable and raised concerns about whether customers were being treated fairly. In addition, despite the growing number of customers waiting at the entrance, the staff member at the host stand took time to wipe their mouth and have a drink before slowly coming over to ask for party sizes. This lack of urgency and professionalism did not reflect a level of service that customers should reasonably expect. Unfortunately, the food was equally disappointing. The seafood had the noticeable smell and taste of having been frozen for an extended period. Some of the mussels were not fully cooked, and several skewers were served cold. Compared with my visits shortly after the restaurant first opened, both the freshness of the ingredients and the overall food quality have declined significantly. Overall, both the service and the food quality fell far below expectations. As someone who frequently dines in downtown Montreal, this was one of the most disappointing restaurant experiences I have had. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and works to improve both customer service and food quality.

Very disappointing experience. The service was very slow and staff were not friendly. Many items came late, some never arrived, and orders were often incomplete. They were almost throwing plates on the table instead of placing them politely!!! Desserts cost extra, which was disappointing for an all-you-can-eat restaurant! There was also a loud beeping noise near our table. Staff and management did not seem to care when we complained…
