Craving something savory and satisfying. The tonkotsu ramen hit the spot. The broth was rich without being too heavy, and seared chashu added a nice depth of flavor.
Reviews / Ratings for Machiya Ramen
I rarely write negative reviews, but this place was such a disappointment that I have to speak up. The Japanese food here is completely inauthentic. The Beef Don rice was stale, with hard, uncooked grains that tasted like it had been sitting out for hours. The chicken cutlet was absurdly paper-thin — we literally laughed out loud when it arrived at the table. It looked more like a sad potato chip than a proper katsu. The portions are ridiculously small, especially for the price. The entire meal felt like it was meant for a child, not an adult. For what they charge, you’d expect a satisfying, filling dish, but we left still hungry and seriously regretting our decision. Save your money and go somewhere else if you want real Japanese food. Very disappointing experience.
Everything came out hot and delicious. The broth & egg was cooked perfectly.
Very delicious vegetarian ramen👍🏻
A hidden gem on Rue Clark. The atmosphere is cozy and the food is top-tier. I love that the gyoza are house-made, and the bowls of tonkotsu ramen are generous enough to share
An excellent ramen. Got the seafood one this time, will try everything on the menu before I'm done.
Excellent ramen!
I’m still thinking about the seared chashu in my ramen. It had that perfect smoky char. The server was super friendly and checked on us just the right amount.
This is my go-to spot for ramen. The broth is consistently silky and rich. I usually get the beef donburi on the side—the beef is so tender.
Came for dinner on a quiet night, food was very good, tonkatsu ramen was delicious all around and the egg was superb. Beef Danburi was tasty. Shrimp tempura and edamame were expectedly good. The chicken gyoza was only average
I usually come for the ramen, but tonight I tried the Machiya ramen and was blown away. It’s spicy, hearty, and fresh.
The best and tasty ramen. Good service. Good owner. Me and my family would go back. Thank you
Perfect Ramen place
Listed as one of the best ramens in Montreal and it deserves the name. The flavour of the broth and all the compliments were exquisite. The place is kinda small and you'd need to stay in line depending on the time of day. But it's worth it. I promise you.
I went with the tonkotsu ramen and added an extra egg. It came out hot and delicious. Will be back
Perfect dinner spot. The gyoza were crispy on the bottom and juicy inside, and the tonkotsu ramen bowls are massive.
Hidden gem in Chinatown! Current promotion is live too.
Yummy tonkotsu ramen. The broth is so rich and creamy, you can tell it’s been simmering for hours. It’s the ultimate comfort food.
Their lunch combo is an amazing deal. Tonkotsu broth was rich and creamy, and noodles had the perfect chewiness.
Ramen here was exceptional. The broth was incredible. It's prepared for 6 hours I was told. Noodles were nice and firm. I had the tonkotsu. I'd definitely would come back and recommend to anyone.
For how good the food is, there really isn’t enough people in the restaurant. When we walked up to the restaurant we noticed it was empty and was a bit skeptical, but after tasting the food I regret having any doubts about the place. The service is great, food is outstanding and it has a cozy atmosphere.
Good ramen! Excellent broth. I would have preferred thin white noodles. And unfortunately, there was no karaage on the menu, which I usually order with a bowl of ramen.
Tried the machiya signature ramen. It had seafood and the broth was very flavorful and spicy. The noodles were chewy and quite nice. The portion is pretty small and I was still a bit hungry after.
I ordered the lunch special with chicken wings. The chicken wing was cold/frozen on the inside. It ruined my appetite for the whole meal; the ramen was mid. I felt bad for the male waiter because he was taking orders and cooking, so I ended up waiting additional time for service.
Got Uber Eats pick up, went there got my order, didn't feel very well at that moment, then I asked the staff if I could sit there to eat, she said yes. Suddenly there was a woman came out and yelled said no, you can't eat here. There was nobody in the restaurant at that time. She kicked me out. I just wanted to sit and eat little bit till my stomach getting better then leave. That woman was so rude. Won't go back there again, not recommend!
