Never tried rabbit before. It was delicious. The staff were very patient and friendly. The salted honey pie is a must have. I highly recommend this restaurant! Sorry I opened the pot pie before the photo.
What guests say about Le Lapin Sauté
Le Lapin Sauté seems like a safe choice if you’re looking for an intimate, cozy atmosphere in Old Québec, with service often described as attentive and welcoming. The cuisine is generally highly praised, especially the rabbit and duck dishes, as well as specialties like onion soup, fondue, and salted honey pie. Since the restaurant is small and often busy, it is strongly recommended to book in advance. A few reviews do mention inconsistencies in service, portions that are considered small, or uneven dishes, so the experience can vary.

Wonderful in every way!
Tiny 10 table or so establishment that serves an uperscale yet still reasonable priced menu. Le Lapin saute " the jumping rabbit" is well known for their classic rabbit dishes. I ha the rabbit leg with seasonal vegetables and it was scrumptious. I highly suggest booking a reservation.
Incredible soup, super flavourful rabbit and duck leg, creative beet hummus and absolutely delightful fois gras! Loved everything!!!
We have been coming to Old Quebec for several years and it would not be a complete visit without a stop at Lapin Sauté. Reservations are a good idea.
Great service and atmosphere. The food is tasty, but not amazing. Desserts were disappointing.
Súper súper goood! the French onion food was insanely delicious, and the service was amazing aswell!!
This is an amazing gem in Quebec. Please spoil yourself and go for a meal here. You have not seen anything so quaint, delicious and welcoming
Great meal and an awesome opportunity to try ingredients that don’t often appear on other menus. Wonderful servers and nice ambience. Found that my portion of vegetables was missing some elements, but the quickly remedied the situation.
The most delicious meal, refreshing to eat healthy food in a beautiful atmosphere.
Rabbit leg and onion soup was especially so delicious.
It was my first time trying rabbit and I have to say this is the best spot to try it and I loved it. Very cute and cozy atmosphere. Whoever made our dishes was an angel and especially the honey pie.
Cozy and super cute. Had a wonderful dinner. Atmosphere was amazing and the staff lovely.
Very friendly service and lovely ambiance. Food was delicious and unique to what you’d get outside of Quebec. Portions were plentiful.
Excellent experience. Nice ambiance and great food. I had the râble de lapin farci and my wife got the magret de canard. Both were delicious! And we also had some vin chaud to warm up a little bit… Thanks!
Excellent food in a beautiful, quaint setting!
Excellent dinner at Le Lapin Sauté. We ordered the roast duck magerit (generous portion size of tender and juice roasted duck with roasted potatoes in gravy, stuffed rabbit saddle, and tout lapin and canard - a sharing tasting plate for two). Finished with salted honey pie, maple creme brûlé and the molten chocolate cake. Service was friendly and environment was cosy and comfortable. I would recommend.
Wonderful all around. Great space, so cozy, amazing food. Can't wait to go back next time visiting!
Onion soup is a killer-really enjoyed for brunch after cold walk.
terrible food, the wrong dishes were served twice. I would not eat it again.
Amazing food, atmosphere and service! And very kid friendly with a great kid’s menu. We ordered the Tout lapin tout canard and it gave us a yummy sample of lots of variety of duck and rabbit, out of which, our favourite is the duck leg confit and duck foie gras. Their bread is also fresh and delicious!
Food was delicious, our server was attentive and very kind. It is also the cutest, coziest spot. 10/10 recommend.
WOW. What a find!!
Wow. Just wow. My daughter and I started with an appetizer of cheese, fondue each and boy are we glad we didn’t share one of those because frankly, we each could’ve eaten two or three of them. They were so good. I mean really really great. We then split the Rabbit stew with a pastry top. Also delicious and highly recommended. We topped it off with a crème brûlée Since we are fans of that dessert. We had tried four other crème brûlée across old Quebec during the week and this one was by far the absolute best. Overall, a really terrific meal and a really relaxed and intimate atmosphere.
Delicious food, and great environment. I love the rabbit poutine
