Unbelievable service with chef Mati The fish was absolutely amazing, fresh, tender and melted in your mouth ! Combinations were simply delicious. Wine suggested from Spain was out of this world and I have tried my share of wines, Tempranillo which is typically a red was now white and it was fabulous! I came her many times but every visit gets better, Chef Mati and staff continue to offer an unexpected and unforgivable experience
Reviews / Ratings for Ekki Sushi Tremblant at Bel Air Resort
The food at Ekki Sushi was actually quite good, which makes the rest of the experience even more frustrating. Unfortunately, everything else fell well below expectations. Despite arriving on time for our reservation, we waited nearly 20 minutes just to be seated. From there, the service never really recovered. The restaurant is clearly understaffed, and it shows in every aspect of the experience. Tables weren’t cleared in a timely manner, service felt scattered, and the overall flow was disorganized. The location itself is… interesting. Getting into the restaurant involves navigating a fairly steep slope, and on the way out, there was a noticeable sewage or septic smell along the stairs, which was hard to ignore. It’s disappointing because the food has potential, but the service and overall experience left a poor impression. Not somewhere we’ll be returning to.
This is the absolute best sushi that you will ever have. The fish is fresh and delicious with beautiful presentation. Chef Mertz is always friendly accommodating and the reason we always come back!
We had a wonderful dinner for our anniversary, the staff made sure that we had the best experience for this occasion by giving us a cozy spot by the bar. Chef Merts and Jian were amazing, they made a selection based on our taste and it was incredibly fresh and delicious. We came here last year and drove an hour because of how much we liked it, but this visit exceeded our expectations ! We’ll come back for sure.
My partner and I visited Ekki this evening while vacationing in Mont-Tremblant. Overall, the food itself was excellent — everything we ate was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. We had a 7:30 reservation and were seated at the sushi bar, which overlooks the chefs preparing the sushi. It’s actually a really neat experience to watch the process and see the dishes come together. Our appetizers arrived in a timely manner, and we had ordered our entrée (Platter #2) at the same time. Unfortunately, this is where our experience took a turn. After finishing our appetizers, we ended up waiting over an hour for our sushi platter. Because we were seated directly at the bar overlooking the sushi station, we could actually see our platter sitting there for over 30 minutes without being brought to us. It became pretty clear that our server had forgotten about us. No one checked in on us after our appetizers were cleared, and we were left trying to get someone’s attention for quite a while. The only reason we didn’t end up waiting even longer was because a woman sitting next to us kindly called a server over after noticing us looking around for help. I used to work as a server for years, so I completely understand how stressful and multifaceted restaurant service can be. Mistakes happen. However, once someone finally came to assist us (a different server than the one we started with), they apologized for the delay but there was no attempt to compensate us in any way for the wait or the fact that we had essentially been forgotten. It’s unfortunate because the food itself was genuinely great and the restaurant has a strong reputation online, which is why we were excited to try it while visiting. But paying full price after waiting over an hour for our entrée due to a service oversight left us feeling pretty disappointed.
Basically all you need to know about this place is that they serve fake lobster. Think imitation crab, but lobster, and sold as if it were real. Beyond that, the food is oversalted and seemingly heavy on MSG, the prices are steep, and the service is quite poor.
This restaurant came recommended as “the best sushi ever” and it didn’t disappoint. We had the pleasure of sitting at the counter of the sushi bar and Chef merts and his partner chef Jian were amazing. They took great care and made every sushi rolls perfectly. Thanks for the lovely dinner
The food was absolutely delicious
Food is great. Definitely not bad and a good, fun food experience. Expensive, but this is very good and it's a cute restaurant in a resort town.
We had a wonderful time at Ekki Sushi. The staff was fantastic, and we were fortunate enough to secure the best seats in the house. A huge thank you to Jian, who went above and beyond to ensure we received exceptional service throughout the evening, complemented by Chef Merts’ incredible creations. This restaurant is definitely a must-visit if you’re staying at the Bel-Air Resort.
My parents took my here to celebrate my graduation and I had a great time! The food was delicious and chef Jian really knocked it out of the park. First time allowing the chef to pick the platter as I'm usually picky and there was nothing I didn't like.
Wonderful experience and simply excellent presentation and flavours.
This was our first time dining at EKKI Sushi and it was truly a memorable experience. My partner and I sat at the corner of the chef’s bar and watching Chef Merts work was absolutely beautiful. His technique is delicate precise and clearly the result of deep passion and hard work. There is such a calm focused energy in the way he prepares each dish and it added so much to the experience. Everything felt intentional refined and heartfelt. We left feeling genuinely grateful for the care and artistry that went into our meal. Thank you for this beautiful experience. I highly recommend EKKI Sushi if you want a truly memorable moment crafted by the chef. We will definitely be back.
Incredible dining experience! The fish at Ekki Sushi is exceptionally fresh, and the presentation on the wooden platters is a work of art. We tried the Deluxe Platter and every piece was better than the last. Easily the best sushi in the Tremblant area. A must-visit if you’re staying at Bel Air Resort
Always a great experience in this restaurant, my husband and I can't get enough of it and keep coming back!Service is great, sushi's are amazing, and if you're lucky enough, you get to meet the outstanding Chef Merts. He made sure our 1st year anniversary celebration was extra special!Highly recommend :)
Honestly one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had.We waited two and a half hours for our sushi. By the time it finally arrived, everyone at the table had completely lost their appetite. What was supposed to be an enjoyable night out turned into frustration and disbelief as we kept being told “it’s coming soon” over and over again. The service was painfully slow and completely inattentive. No updates, no real apologies, and no effort to make up for the outrageous delay. To make matters worse, the drinks were awful — poorly made and barely drinkable. Definitely not worth the wait, the money, or the aggravation.Overall, a hugely disappointing experience. We came in excited for a nice meal and left wishing we had just stayed home. Would absolutely not return.
Loved the artistry in the good and friendly staff. Quiet romantic atmosphere.
Overall a good experience. The ambiance was great both indoors and outdoors. The food was good, especially the sushi, which was great quality with really good flavours. There was a bit of a delay when we first arrived, we waited a while to be acknowledged and seated, but once we were served, everyone was friendly (it may have just been a busy night). Head Chef Mertz, along with chefs Jian and Ken, and one of our server Reina were very welcoming and took time to make sure we were well taken care of. Would recommend, but there’s room for improvement with pacing, attentiveness, and acknowledging guests when they arrive.
Service was horrible, took over an hour to get appetizers then longer for the sushi. The sushi was just ok. Beautiful interior and kind staff.
If you’re in the Tremblant area and crave sushi, make sure you make a reservation cause this is the spot to go atmosphere is amazing. Service is great. Food is superb. Make sure you take the time to enjoy your food and your company.
I came for my birthday and it was an amazing experience!
Chef Merts was beyond excellent thank you. Wow!
Amazing, highly reccomend!!
Ekki is amazing! Been to Mont-Tremblant from NYC four times now, we go back every single time. Ekki would easily compete with some of NYC’s best sushi restaurants. Fish is amazingly fresh! Toro carpaccio and tuna tataki are amazing, A5 wagyu sushi was delicious. Great presentation.
